£2m SHVED ‘HAPPY’ TO BE AT CELTIC

MARIAN SHVED has played only THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES for Celtic since his £2million move in January.

However, the Ukrainian international winger insisted he has no regrets about his move to the eight-in-a-row champions, despite his rare first-team appearances.

Shved was signed by Brendan Rodgers before he quit to join Leicester City the following month and the player was immediately loaned back to homeland club Karpaty Lviv.

He returned to the Parkhead outfit in the summer and has made only two substitute appearances – one in the 2-0 Champions League qualifying win over Nomme Kalju in Estonia where he scored a marvellous goal and his other outing came in the Premiership 6-0 rout over Ross County at Parkhead last month.

However, national boss Andriy Shevchenko still included the flanker in his squad and Shved came on for the last 20 minutes in a win over Estonia in a friendly.

Shved, in a report in the Daily Record, admitted: “I am happy I moved to Scotland. It’s a different style of football than what I have been used to back home.

“I am working hard and learning so much.

“The coaches and manager of Celtic have told me if I keep working hard I will soon start to get minutes on the pitch for them, but it hasn’t happened yet.

“It was great for me to get on the pitch against Ukraine and, hopefully, I will get some minutes for Celtic soon, too.”
