CELTIC’S 2024 summer star trek kicked off with Sead Haksabanovic’s £1.8million move to Malmo on July 1.
The Celtic permanent departure count rose to TEN when Tomoki Iwata agreed a £1million switch to Birmingham City on the August deadline day.
There were five loan deals, one player released and another retired.
Almost two months before Haksabanovic’s exit for Sweden, there was the £8million move for winger Liel Abada to MLS outfit Charlotte FC in March.
THANK YOU…Celtic’s farewell message to Tomoki Iwata on his move to Birmingham City.
Including the Israel international’s fee, the Hoops have raked in an extraordinary £48.63million in all removals over the five months before completion of last summer’s window.
That sum, of course, was bolstered significantly by Matt O’Riley’s remarkable move to Brighton which could still rise to £30million, overtaking the past record of £25million paid for Kieran Tierney by Arsenal and Filipe Jota by Al-Attihad.
Included in the list there are two undisclosed fees for Yuki Kobayashi and Benji Siegrist which CQN has rounded up to a joint £1million.
