£3m DURAN ON HIS WAY

COLOMBIAN striker Camilo Duran is on his way to sign for Celtic in a £3million deal.

The 24-year-old hitman has left the Qarabag’s training camp to fly to Scotland to seal his move to the champions, as reported in Azerbaijani outlet Sport Info.

Duran left his team-mates as they prepare for the home first leg of their Europa League qualifier against Iceland’s Vestri on Thursday which would suggest the switch is close to being rubberstamped.

Duran completed an impressive debut campaign with Qarabag after joining in the summer in a £170,000 switch from Portuguese side Portimonense.

The forward netted five goals in the Champions League qualifiers as his team reached the knock-out stages and he contributed another ten as the team claimed the title.

Duran is expected to undergo a medical within the next 48 hours and, if there are no problems, pen a four-year contract at Martin O’Neill’s double winners.

He is in line to fly out with the squad when they travel to Portugal to step up their preparations for the new campaign.

The Hoops kick off their pre-season warm-up games against Shelbourne at Tolka Park tonight.
