4 is the magic number

123

A point on Saturday would deliver the 120th major honour in Celtic’s history.  That figure was 99 as recently as November 2016.  This important number we are now chasing, though, is 121, which a Scottish Cup win would deliver, and of course, a ninth treble.

During our nine-in-a-row eras it was the number of consecutive titles that occupied our minds (and the T-shirts and flags for our second nine’).  In that tradition, Saturday’s magic number is 4.  There were “55” flags on sale outside Hampden on Sunday.  Why?

Celtic are about to win four-in-a-row for the fifth time.  Rangers managed the feat on three occasions.  Aberdeen (1985), Hibs (1952) and Dumbarton (1892) are the only others sides to retain the league title, each doing so on one occasion (Dumbarton on the League’s first two seasons).  These are precious days.

All our thoughts go out to the Athleticzales who are today mourning the passing of Pope Francis, a renowned advocate for human rights and social justice.

I would take Liam Neeson to play Brother Walfrid, and then in the first team talk he could say, “I have a particular set of skills”, or use his Cork accent from Michael Collins and say, ” I need yees tae focus”.

*Or how about “I hate them for making hate necessary, and I’ll do what I can to end it.”

Scottish Independence is a brilliant idea says Compston and Brian Cox.

Its a great idea if you can watch the unfolding carnage from the comfort of your big swanky millionaire villa in USA thousands of miles away from the kilted klan version of Armageddon at the Stoorie Burn.

  9. According to FF,the safety, segregation, barriers, are not being put in place for our trip to the Victorian workhouse next week, with the result, our fans have to be in,2 hours early. Now I thought that broke the safety agreement. Why install them?.

The morons gloating its revenge from our game, even though they know that was a Police decision.Reading their ridiculously stupid, bigoted bile on this, was quite amusing.

You speak the biggest pile of dung that anyone has ever heard about Mother Russia.

If it wasn’t for Mother Russia utterly destroying the Nazi beasts in 1945 you’d be speaking in German like everybody else would be too.

CANAMALAR was banned from CQN for Educating you about Mother Russia because you begged the unhinged Mod to ban him.

  17. Good Morning Fholk – Grand Day To Be A Tim

Ended up being oot, oot yesterday

    BIGRAILROADBLUES @ 7:13 AM,

“You Chilterns fellas are up sharp. 😁

Yes, indeed, it was early morning yesterday…

    Enjoy the quaff…

    BURNLEY78 @ 10:05 AM,

It was good to read your take on your favourite seasons t’uther day…

Yes, it is important to remember the challenges from the end of the last Century and our quarter of a Century of excellence was far from assured.

As you intimate, a lot has happened, especially in football in the last twenty five years – our. Lub has been stewarded well and for Celtic to have so much to look forward to is testament to that – yet I’d hate to think we were wedded to old business dogmas.

“They have been there whilst managers and players have come and gone are there as representatives of the majority shareholders. DD and Chris Trainer in particular. As long as these guys are happy then the continuity is assured.

Is that good or is that bad. Well the chaos across the city where there is a franchise with similar potential suggests it is not all bad. That said there is scope to freshen and enliven it. Certainly a next generation input here and there could be of value. We see DD family engaging and Chris T family are big fans and investors in for long term. Perhaps we will see an evolution.

That “potential” must never be forgotten, especially after years of mismanagement, some serious players are taking an interest now.

While dynasties haven’t always been the greatest vehicle for Celtic Glasgow, this is good to hear, that young blood and evolution are key for our continued success.

A month and two trophies to go this season…

    BOURNESOUPRECIPE @ 10:40 AM,

    “Chairbhoy @ earlier

I admire your indefatigability, with the CQN read back.

Ole Martin knows where his home is, but he’s fair ripping it up as a former manager of the world’s most beautiful and miraculous club , half expecting to bump into him when I’m out the messages, he’s here that often.

“ The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners, where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. “

Only two more sleeps if we can borrow another phrase from deepest East Kilbride.

T’was, in the main, a vwry good read back…

Yes, it’s now over fifty years since a lost bhoy first gave way to the wanderlust and bike’d around the aul’ Chilterns… England does have it’s magic, captured very elegantly in those prose…

It was interesting to see Martin take part in an interview with Brendan before the Bayern game, he said it was the first time he’d been around Lennoxtown!?

Good to hear the low down on Brendan Rodgers’ Q&A – hugely important sessions are these, and great to know we are going back to mullions of wingers…

    The man from EK says…

    One more sleep…

    Hail Hail

TB – Putin definitely has something on him.

Trump’s body language is a tell.

Strutting and physically dominating when he engages everyone else.

Hesitant and cautious the few times he’s been in front of the cameras alongside Putin.
