EVERGREEN James Forrest is poised to make his 500th appearance for Celtic in this afternoon’s derby encounter at Parkhead.

As ever, the eager and willing 33-year-old Scotland international winger is ready to play his part in another Hoops success story.

Forrest, who claimed his century of goals for the club in style with a hat-trick in the team’s 6-1 league victory over Hibs in the east end of Glasgow on October 15 2022, has now taken his tally to 108.

DEBUT GOAL…James Forrest races away after leaving Motherwell keeper John Ruddy helpless with his first strike for Celtic in a 4-0 win in May 2010.

DERBY GOAL…James Forrest is a roaring success as he joins in Celtic’s 5-0 romp over Rangers at Parkhead in April 2018.

At the age of 18, he claimed his first strike when he came on as a second-half substitute for Aiden McGeady and clipped in the final goal in a 4-0 home win over Motherwell on May 1 2010.

Forrest has scored in every season since that opener and is eager to maintain that extraordinary sequence. This afternoon would be the perfect setting to get his first of this crusade.

And the unassuming lad from Prestwick has amassed a truly stupendous haul of honours in his astonishing career – 12 league titles, seven Scottish Cups and five League Cups.

A meeting with Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit offers the ideal platform for Forrest to celebrate his 500th outing for Celtic.

Go get ’em, Jamesie!
