‘WHY MUSONDA FLOPPED AT CELTIC,’ TOP SCOUT

CELTIC loan flop Charly Musonda’s entourage have been blamed for the Belgian midfielder’s career hitting a dip.

The youngster agreed an 18-month temporary deal with the Hoops from Chelsea in January.

However, Brendan Rodgers returned Musonda to the London outfit at the end of the season with a year of the contract still to run.

He made only eight appearances for the champions and, apart from a brief cameo in setting up Callum McGregor for the only goal of the game against Zenit St Petersburg at Parkhead in February, rarely caught the eye.

Ajax’s Belgian scout Urbain Haesaert isn’t surprised that Musonda’s career has stalled and insisted he went to Chelsea too soon from Anderlecht.

He said: “It is because of the entourage that chose fast money and enjoyed the praise of Jan Boskamp. He missed part of his training, it’d been better if he stayed at Anderlecht. Musonda has a formidable basic technique, but only used it for himself.

“My advice is still: first try two years with success in the first team of Anderlecht or Ajax to play.

“If you play for two years in the first teams of Ajax or Anderlecht, you will not get poor, you will get what you have apparently left behind. Then, after, you can get a good transfer at the right time to the right club.”
