BELGIAN winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha is “on the way” to Celtic, according to reports.

The Royal Antwerp forward is apparently a £5million target for Brendan Rodgers and the clubs are nearing an agreement, according to local media Voetbal Nieuws.

The Hoops boss has already added £1.7million right-sided flanker Benjamin Nygren from Nordsjaelland to his squad with Nicolas Kuhn sealing his £17.2million switch to Serie A outfit Como yesterday, as CQN reported.

GOAL SALUTE…Michel-Ange Balikwisha celebrates a strike for Royal Antwerp.

Balikwisha operates mainly on the left and that could allow Daizen Maeda free to play a more central area as the champions continue to look for a long-term replacement to Kyogo Furuhashi who, of course, left Parkhead in January in a £10million move to Rennes.

Rodgers also saw one-time target Isak Jansson join OGC Nice from Rapid Vienna in an £8.6million switch during the week.

Japanese striker Shin Yamada is expected to cement his £1.5million arrival from Kawasaki Frontale within the next six days.

The frontman will be Rodgers’ sixth signing of the summer, following returning hero Kieran Tierney, Hayato Inamura, Ross Doohan, Callum Osmand and Nygren.

Balikwisha could bring the number to seven if reports in his homeland are accurate.
