FILIPE JOTA’S £6.5million move to Celtic is on the brink of being rubber-stamped, as CQN reported earlier this month.

The flamboyant winger has indicated he wants to sign a permanent deal at Parkhead following his impressive season-long stint from Benfica.

Unless there is an unforeseen problem between the clubs during the completion of negotiations, Jota is poised to agree a five-year deal with Ange Postecoglou’s newly-crowned champions, according to Portuguese sports media outlet A Bola.

HEARTFELT MESSAGE…Filipe Jota acknowledges the Celtic fans after his goal in the 6-0 win over Motherwell.

The Hoops will trigger the £6.5million transfer option while the Lisbon giants are insisting in a 30 per cent sell-on clause for the 23-year-old who claimed 13 goals since arriving in Glasgow in August.

Signing talks are also well advanced to keep central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers after his successful temporary transfer from Spurs.

The manager has already stated he wants the business done as swiftly as possible to concentrate on bringing in more recruits as he prepares for the close season with a place in the Champions League group stages already guaranteed.
