7 goals count for squat once whistle goes

353

I haven’t checked my facts here, so I could be wrong, but I reckon the last time we scored seven goals (against St Mirren) we lost the very next game (against the same opposition).  If we can deduce anything from this two point observation it is that teams rebounding from an embarrassing defeat are more dangerous than teams on the crest of a great result.

Celtic will have been flowing in training this week whereas Motherwell will have re-examined every aspect of their club, team and tactics after their cup exit to Albion Rovers.  If we produce a similar performance and result to the one we achieved at Tynecastle last week it will be an outstanding achievement.

Would like to see Biton and Mulgrew play in similar central roles tonight.

Many thanks to those who bid on the charity auction for lunch at Cinc Sentis in Barcelona.  Highest bid is currently £82, if you’re going out next week, treat yourself………

“The question though is why the near obsession for the club’s history?

I don’t think there is a need for me to repeat the already well-trodden road of our club’s history and culture. In my opinion, I feel that it centres on the roots of the club……. that the club was formed to serve a community but grew to be far much more than that. It’s not about a business, a result, customers or a tournament. We view it as people with the supporters at its heart, something that is being lost at most other large clubs.”

  3. looking forward to tonight as Glasgow does itself proud for the second time in a week for vastly different reasons. How in Gods name did that mob get started in Glasgow?

Anyway , the lhad is on ticket duty tonight in the main stand alongside the fair minded followers of that family club.

Have to warn him repeatedly to keep his mouth in check in case of super sensitive FOCUS officers amongst our own and in case the easily offended home support gets upset. Shame I have to do this ,but I don`t want 4 years of hard work at Uni to go down the pan.

Hope we stick with Sundays formation, Commons will be top SPL scorer this season, he is out best finisher and poacher so keep him up front. As ever the mibbery and our own attitude will be our biggest enemy. ‘ mon the Hoops!

Rankers new chairman issues an official statement and rambles on and on about “bogey men” trying to destroy the club/company.

He really needs to get up to speed: everybody knows it’s “zombies” not ” bogey men” !!!

I think England have more to fear in Uruguay than Italy. Italy are rank rotten England will beat Italy .

Sorry for the hassle here. We post out the Annuals every day and around two weekends ago we posted 60 Annuals in 4 post office bags. It appears that at least two of these bags have been lost somewhere in the postal system (we did put stamps on them honest!). Anyway today we decided to re-send all 60 Annuals from that day out again by first class post – so you should have in on Monday.

For those who get an extra copy – please find a good Celtic home for the extra CQN Annual. For those who have endured the delay please accept our apologies. I hope that everyone will acknowledge that it was beyond our control and that we have been in instant contact with just about everyone when they have emailed.

ALL copies going forward will be mailed out by first class post. Enjoy the match – I have to go to a CRICKET dinner where the guest speaker is none other than Referee Kenny Clark. How if I have a wee drink and he says anything about Celtic, BRTH might need to handle the mailouts for a while…

  9. sixtaeseven – I take exception to your use of the term ‘rankers’ – in this age of fifa fair play and awareness of financial doping and how corporate illegality, immorality and cheating can improve on field success, I think ‘complete bunch of rankers’ is more appropriate. I do hope you take this appraisal as an opportunity to improve your onblog performance and have a go at any rankers you’re unfortunate to come across

    ‘Italy are rank rotten’.

Rather sweeping statement there if you will allow me.

How do you come to that conclusion?

  12. Bhoys and Ghirls, my friends in Celtic.

Surely today is not the day for point scoring or gesture politics.

The greatest possible epitaph for Nelson Mandela I have heard today is “He taught the world how to forgive”.

Ref posting results of yesterdays’s survey – Are you looking forward to playing some kind of Newco in the SPL?

Well I was one of the 7 who honestly voted yes : Coincidentally, I stated yesterday that statistics can be manipulated to suit the question.

Yes I am looking forward to the football game. I miss the challenge, excitement and utter joy of beating them. Unlike NM,s magnanimous philosophy I despise them and all they stand for. The amount of air time they receive on CQN would seem to reinforce this view.

Do I think we should be playing some kind of Newco in the SPL, then that is a different question which would bring a different answer.

Winning Captains, annual arrived after only a few days. Many Thanks.

  14. IMO Engerlund will go into the final group game with 1 point (draw with italy 0-0 or 1-1).

They will lose to Uruguay (see history in that respect and add Suarez).

Don’t think that will be enough for them.

Re: Does the club have a silence for Mandela on Saturday?

They certainly should not have a minutes silence for a confirmed terrorist.

If such a thing goes ahead it is on a par with a minutes silence for likes of Martin McGuiness.

I would seriously consider withdrawing my support for our club, in its present state, should such a disgusting act take place.
