85 REASONS WHY KYOGO IS SMILES BETTER

KYOGO FURUHASHI hoisted his Celtic goal tally to an impressive 85 with his double salvo in the 4-1 win over Ross County in Dingwall yesterday.

The Japanese striker has now claimed six strikes in seven starts against the Highlanders and there was no stopping him again as Brendan Rodgers’ side surged into an EIGHTEEN point advantage in their relentless pursuit of their fourth successive title and thirteenth championship in 14 years.

Kyogo starred in the Hoops late show and was joined by Arne Engels, with a twice-taken penalty-kick, and substitute Luke McCowan on the scoring charts to clinch the victory on dodgy underfoot conditions.

SEEING DOUBLE…Kyogo Furuhashi gets in ahead of Yang Hyun-jun to fire the opening goal past Ross County keeper Jordan Amissah and (below) the Japanese striker does it again with a header for No.2.

The champions dominated possession in the first-half, but toiled to get the ball behind home keeper Jordan Amissah, who has just joined on a free transfer from Sheffield United, who looked to be in a defiant mood.

However, he was left helpless four minutes from the interval when Man-of-the-Match Kyogo turned in a wicked low ball from Alistair Johnston and he was forced to surrender again when the fleet-footed hitman made it 2-1 with a clever header from an Engels cross.

After his latest success, the international frontman, who joined the Hoops in a bargain £4.6million switch from J-League outfit Vissel Kobe in July 2021, thanked his colleagues for their part in his two-goal performance.

THAT’S MY BHOY…Alistair Johnston congratulates two-goal Kyogo Furuhashi.

Kyogo, speaking to Celtic TV, said: “It was a very difficult game and we had to work very hard for our four goals.

“Overall, it was a good game for the team. I thank my team-mates for the crosses and I trust them. I keep trying to put the ball in the net and I always try to improve.

“And it is good to see the supporters with smiles on their faces and I like to make them happy.”
