A BHOY FOR ALL SEASONS

1

JAMES FORREST emphasised the fact he is Celtic’s Bhoy for all seasons in the 4-1 Premier Sports League Cup triumph over Ross County in Dingwall in midweek.

The evergreen winger swept in the fourth goal to bring down the curtain on the champions’ sixth successive win of the season, scoring 25 goals and conceding only two in the process.

GOING…James Forrest right-foots Anthony Ralston’s cut-back towards the Ross County goal.

GOING…the ball sweeps past the diving Jake Eastwood in the Highlanders’ goal.

GONE…James Forrest turns away as the ball hits the net for his historic strike.

Forrest’s strike means the 31-year-old Scotland international attacker has scored in every single season for the Hoops since he knocked one in against Motherwell on his debut in a 4-0 victory on May 1 2010.

As the ball nestled behind County keeper Jake Eastwood to book a quarter-final meeting with Well at Fir Park next month, the sprightly raider became one of four players to have achieved the feat in Hoops’ history.

HISTORY BHOY AND NEW BHOY…James Forrest is congratulated by debutant Sead Haksabanovic.

With his effort in the Highlands, Forrest joined club legends Jimmy Quinn (1900/01-1914/15), Jimmy McGrory (1922/23-1936/37) and Bobby Lennox (1961/62-1977/78 and 1979/80).

Here’s to season 2023/24, Jamesy!
