Bobby Clark was the first Aberdeen goalkeeper I knew. He was thought of highly, until Jim Leighton and colleagues stepped the performance levels up a pace at Aberdeen. He has two places in the history books, one for the longest period not to concede a goal in Scottish league football, which when established in 1971 was also the European record. He was also the first goalkeeper in European competition to face a penalty in a penalty kick competition.
Back in the dark days of the late 90s I had a Celtic mug with the message ‘Records can be broken but history can never be changed: Celtic, first British team to win the European Cup, 1967’. Bobby Clark lost his European record within months and at Tynecastle next week Fraser Forster can break his Scottish record. Bobby’s place as first to face a penalty competition is his in perpetuity.
Records are harder to break than they should be. People get nervous when they approach, but it will be enormously satisfying if Celtic can sail through 31 minutes at Tynecastle without conceding.
Back in 2011 and early 2012 practically the entire CQN community was discussing Rangers impending insolvency event as an absolute certainty, but we’ve never been the most impartial community. It was not until Daily Record journos stopped applying to Our Hero for a job and suggested ‘this excrement is about to get real’ that the penny dropped in many places.
This included portions of the Celtic support, who responded to the ‘news’ with a Congo line at Inverness, at the same time forever changing the substance of jelly and ice cream; a kind of transubstantiation, if you like. This was no longer a sweet, it is nourishment for the ages.
Now the same newspaper has been authorised to run a story that there is doubt over this month’s payroll – would they dare suggest as much without authorisation? When your friends are telling you they can hear the bell toll, you know where this is heading.

“real enemy, the SFA.”
Bang on.
Tet.
You know aswell as I do, no matter what comes out in the wash, it will be swept away. Mags is right, our board are compliant to the whole whitewash of the huns.
I just can’t get my head around Celtic supporters wanting the huns back!
We are witnessing a corrupt and jaded era in Scottish Football, however the Truth will out. It always does. Their biggest enemy is time and the clock is ticking.

A good few, all season book holders.
The reality is some miss the competition that they gave.
My argument back was…they didn’t want competition, why they cheated in the first place!

Very few I’ve spoken to have expressed any desire to see the zombies back. I’m in the USA right enough, but many I talk to still attend games at Paradise on occasion.
Other than a few on cqn I know one tim / sb holder who wants the zombies in our lives
A load of fresh anticipation today on CQN and elsewhere in Celtic Cyberspace over the Charlotte Fakes Tapes.
We all know what they contain.
We’ve read the tweets and heard the recordings.
We all know the guilty parties.
The establishment authorities know we are all aware of the contents.
They will lose no sleep over them.
We as fans will wring our hands in despair and anger but it will be like a forlorn fhart into a gale force wind.
Auldheid and BRTH will provide eloquent interpretations of the rules and try to renew the energy and enthusiasm of fans.
It will matter not a whit.
Our board, the SFA, the SPFL and the various manifestations of the S(P)FL will sit back and let the storm blow over and the hubbub subside.
There will be a massive spring cleanout at Hampden where positions will be eliminated, then recreated, titles will be changed and name plates will be taken down from desks and doors and placed on newer, bigger and shinier doors and desks.
The same people will be performing slightly different functions but the inherent attitudes and ingrained bias will remain and indeed strengthen.
Our own management and the establishment quislings are far too concerned with the marketing demographic and the bigot pound.
Deals will be made in smoky rooms and secret meeting places.
The Third Rangers will be levered into the Premiere League and the mayhem will recommence.
The bile and hatred left to fester for the last three or four years will pour over like a blocked Armitage Shanks.
The “Honest Mistakes” will resume and we will be returned to 1994 as if nothing had happened.
Unless someone can provide a different interpretation of my tea leaves.
Tbj,
How is the holiday going?
From the Drum
Secret recordings released by the anonymous @CharlotteFakes Twitter account can be given in evidence in a £28m legal action brought by the liquidators of Oldco Rangers against Craig Whyte’s former lawyers, a judge ruled today.
The suit against Collyer Bristow centres on claims that the legal firm, which acted for former Rangers owner Craig Whyte, is partially responsible for the subsequent administration and liquidation of the company and is alleged to have been involved in conspiracy, negligence and breach of trust.
Collyer Bristow denies the accusations and suggests all it did was assist its client in a normal “leveraged takeover”.
The “Charlotte” material in question consists of voice recordings involving Whyte and others involved in the takeover. Cyril Kinsky QC, for Collyer Bristow, told the pre-trial hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice that much of the media had decided that the material “may have been unlawfully obtained” and that in a “post-Leveson world the press are not as fulsome as they were in the past.”
However the QC showed the court postings from football blogs and other “chatter on the web” discussing the recordings and argued that this consisted of publication and therefore confidentiality was lost.
Responding for the claimants, Mark Phillips QC told the judge that police objections to using the material had been dropped on 13 February and that Craig Whyte himself had emailed stating he had no issue with the tapes being used in evidence.
Phillips did argue that that tape transcripts should be partially redacted to remove any references to confidential legal advice given to Whyte as this was covered by privilege. The presiding judge, Mr Justice Newey, agreed that the material was relevant and admissible and ordered that an edited transcript of the recordings be made available to the court.
In the wake of the judge’s decision, questions were already being asked if it would lead to a change of attitude by the Scottish media to the “Charlotte” revelations which they have been so far reluctant to publish. Alex Thomson, chief correspondent for Channel 4 News, tweeted: “So – finally some of the Charlotte Fakes material may be legally published by the MSM.”
The full trial is due to begin in January 2015 with Cohen & Stephen (the liquidators of Rangers 2012), Trustees of the Jerome Group plc Pension Fund and HMRC all expected to be represented in court.

Speaking for myself,I won’t even watch a game involving them on the telly.
Just gonna ignore the whole charade when or if it happens.

Good post mate.
Bmcuwp,
I couldn’t tell you the last time I watched that dead club play.
The sad part of it is…in some form they will be back to haunt us, let’s not kid ourselves.
When thems do…there will be more trouble than ever… A hurting animal!
GG
yes a good post
a lot of folk from the celtic online community will be watching the fitba authorities and the MSM with interest and anticipation
Probably the fitba authorities and msm will only react once the non celtic fans, the aberdeens and the dunde uniteds etc also get on board. It would be good if they did.
maybe the english msm might pick up and run with some of the shennanigans, now that its open book, and take it to a wider audience.
Will SSB still try to deny any one from talking about charlotte on air?
For the second time in 2 years the scottish msm have been proved 100% wrong on a mammoth issue
Thats why were paranoid,
Thats why were paranoid!
obviously we werent paranoid enough
Good morning and good night CQN

Who knows what tomorrow brings
in a world few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
when it’s real I keep it alive the road is long
There are mountains in our way
but we climb the stairway every day
Love lifts us up where we belong
where the eagles cry on a mountain high
love lifts us up where we belong
far from the world below up where the clear winds blow
GG,
“Up where we belong”
Sounds hunnish.

Unless someone can provide a different interpretation of my tea leaves.
My tea leaves say that when their “journey” ends, its not going to end quite like they planned.
Its going to come to an abrupt end when they crash into a green and white wall.
How strong that wall is will depend on how well our club gets run until that day comes.
Will some final pieces be added to the football team jigsaw, or will we be continually searching for other pieces because we sold some more?
That is our strategy at the moment so we probably will be.
However THAT wall should still be too much and when the “fun” of their journey dissipates, the reality of where they are will mean they won’t like being there after all.
They will probably sell every season ticket that season, but after that, when another championship flag flies over Paradise and that reality bites……their numbers will drop.
Its all up to Celtic though eh?
As for our support…..my tea leaves say that they will be behind that wall as they have always been.
Despite the apathy, disgust, feelings of betrayal etc., that lots of supporters feel about everything that’s went on……when the time comes to stand and get right behind the club, The Celtic Support will.
Anyway…..that’s what my tea leaves tell me!
My stummoch is telling me it wants another cup…..and some sausages though so better move!
Have a good day everyone.
oh were there football in those winter game things

Good morning friends from a damp underfoot but precipitation free and mildish East Kilbride
I’m sure we have all seen or heard on the msm over the last few months that next season the Scottish Championship will be the most competitive league in Scotland. Many of you may know fans of other clubs that say the same.
Seeing that this is the case, because i can’t imagine the msm and fans of other clubs would make stuff up……
Should Celtic look to loan out 3 players to whoever loses the play off final, and also loan out 3 players to perhaps Dundee or Falkirk.
If this is indeed going to be Scotland’s most competitive league then surely our young charges should have a piece of the action.
The fact that it would consign Rangers and Hearts to another season in the Championship is not our problem.
In fact i would do the same again, the season after next.
Good morning CQNers,
Yesterday I posted that I wanted justice for all who’ve suffered in Northern Ireland, some, however, make it difficult to maintain that stance.

Are you off to Dublin in the green?
John O’Neil:
There are hundreds, nay thousands, of anti-Irish articles that mention Celtic, I’ve never really felt the need to bring them here. Why you did, defeats me. And unlike you I think Celtic are very much a Scottish club with grand Irish links. I too love to read my Irish history, I probably read too much of it if the truth be known. So you said you wanted to bring that particular article to the attention of the blog for the sake of debate… so what in particular about that arricle do you want to debate in particular?
Oh and did you ever find that article when CELTIC gave a statement about the Aberdeen fans abuse of Neil Lennon? (because I think you were either fibbing or not right in the mind)
What a shot in the Curling

They will cheat their way back, until they are in control again.
Charlotte Fakes wont make any difference whatsoever.
Sectarianism is institutionalised in Scotland, the SFA, are only a link in the chain.
The real bigotry doesn’t come from halfwitted sevco fans, it has far deeper roots in Scottish society.
So, its not too big a leap, to assume that everything possible will be done to uphold that bigoted ideology, whatever is required.
Now…..the sooner we stop being sidetracked by nonsense about jelly and ice-cream, the sooner we can expose the true extent of corruption.
There will always be cheating hun bigots, and they will be back in the top league very very soon, with a new brand of triumphant bigotry that will stagger the senses.
Wake up to the corruption, never mind the jelly and ice cream.
I don’t know what it will take to defeat corruption in Scottish football, but I really hope someone somewhere has a few aces up the sleeve, otherwise, its all over.

Surely with the Charlotte tapes being admitted as evidence, the game is up for sevco, sfa, ogilvie, the lot of them…..karma, feckin karma………this development is staggering
===
Perhaps if this were all to unravel in an English court rather than just the squabbling over who owes what to who we might see a modicum of justice being done however given that this all happened in the Scotland we know in reality heehaw will be done. That is apart from changing the rules further to accomodate and accelerate a well know Scottish institutions return to its ‘rightful’ position at the top of the pile.

Willie Frazer is an absolute clown of a man and a very poor excuse for a human being. Not the first time he has been asked to apologise to a catholic school.
Last year a primary school in Armagh was receiving a European delegation and flew an Italian tricolour. Thinking it was an Irish tricolour???? Willie went off on one (as he is wont to do) claiming that the school was a training ground for the junior IRA. Within the North Irish context a vert dangerous claim to make. We can only thank god that it wasn’t a visiting delegation from the Ivory Coast.
Allah has most definitely seen fit to leave slates off of Willies roof.
