JAMES FORREST, Celtic’s most decorated player, is still sweating on a new deal at Celtic.

With the clock ticking down on a turbulent season, the winger will be out of contract in June.

Forrest celebrates his 35th birthday the following month and has already insisted his focus is on making sure the club successful by the time the campaign ends with the Scottish Cup Final scheduled for Saturday May 23.

The one-club wonder has amassed an incredible TWENTY-SIX medals – 13 league titles, eight Scottish Cups and five League Cups – making him the most honoured player in the club’s history.

His glittering career kicked off with a debut goal in a 4-0 win over Motherwell in the east end of Glasgow on May 1 2010.

Forrest also claimed his 100th strike with a hat-trick in a 6-1 home romp against Hibs on October 15 2022.

The evergreen Celt took his tally to 110 when he rolled in the third goal in the champions’ 3-1 victory over Aberdeen at Parkhead on December 21 to give Wilfried Nancy the first of only two successes in his stretched eight-game 33-day stay at the club.

Now Forrest will be forced to play the waiting game to see if the Hoops are willing to extend his contract.
