A quick £13m profit for Green and pals

885

Charles Green and his initial backers have achieved a remarkable result with what is already evident in their prospectus.  Page 66 notes: “In the period to 31 August 2012, a total of 25,340,000 shares were issued for a total consideration of £7,719,000”, issued at approximately 30.4p per share.  At a price of 70p per share these shares would be worth £17.738m, a cool £10m profit.

Since that August date Green has enjoyed something of a windfall.  Page 83 notes, “The contractual right to an option over 10 per cent. of the enlarged ordinary share capital of RFCL was exercised by Charles Green on 31 October 2012 by a partial exercise notice pursuant to which 5,000,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in RFCL were issued to Charles Green on 31 October 2012.”

That’s 5m shares, worth 70p each, which is a stunning £3.5m to add to the above £10m!

Have you heard how great the CQN Annual is? You can order online here, not many posting days left before Christmas!

Next month a raft of new bodies will have notifiable shareholdings, specifically: Hargreave Hale, Artemis Investment Management, Cazenove Capital Management, Legal & General Investment and Insight Investment Management, all of whom will seek returns for their money.

2012 was the year Rangers were liquidated.  It was also the year the assets were snatched from the grasp of an array of Rangers fans by people who saw an opportunity.

2013 will bring an SPL Commission and Upper Tier Tribunal issues for oldco but the consequences of these share issues will determine the performance of newco for decades to come.  I think you and me should keep quiet about this.  Let Charlie carry on and do what he needs to do over the coming weeks.

they think they’re so clever and classless and free when they’re still copulating peasants as as far as I can see

Sort of sums up quite a few nonentities with nothing to contribute but conformity and lock tugging compliance

  2. Well, we’re going to give the Arbroath supporters a good night tonight.

They’ll even be happy when we gub their team. That’s the joy we bring.

Well, at least I hope we do.

Let Arsene’s Arsenal be a warning to us all.

No one can say they didn’t care whether they won or not last night. They were totally gutted to go out.

However, I expect The Bhoys will not be such dilettantes and they will get the job done.

  4. Morning all. Cold and dark here in North Ayrshire.

I gather we are seeing the first fruits of Traynor being put into effect in the Herald. I stopped reading that rag about 2 years ago. The internet bampots are winning hands down. Let the MSM die.

  5. The msm is destroying itself.

And the bbc? ” Nation shall speak truth unto nation. “? They is ‘avin a lahrf.

Incredibly biased nonsense being traipsed out daily and rammed at us. It’s a wonder we can see through it all.

I suppose that is because the level of propaganda has reached such a ridiculous level that not even the perpetrators of it can issue it with straight faces.

Might I also add…there is a worrying amount of Celtic fans who think that we’ve got a big and, sufficient squad to get us through the season ?

Well….where where they in the 1st game against Arbroath ?

We, imo, have far too many players who will NEVER be Celtic players !

Far toooooo much of fans money being drained from the club.

Get savvy with the recruitment procedures ie: Recruit an Alan Sugar type who will make EVERY penny work for the club. Ok…not Sir Alan but, sumdy with a more analytical eye on – recruitment and development.

Now before the whips come out….I know Sir Alan is a failed – Computer type of guy as sumdy couldny wait to point out to me before …..maybe Neil’s already ahead of the game with the appointment of the McGuinness guy ?

You would think that….as Hugh Adams pointed out years ago – the financial heavyweights on the bored etc….would see the amount of wages being picked up at the club without a ball being kicked ?

Not looking for a fight….just trying to shed a light an a not much talked about area of the club. I know that John Park has found a few diamonds on the beach but – that has to be balanced when you consider all of the idle employees who are taking a fair chunk of Neils budget. Well….ye would think so.

But…lets wait and see how the cards fall…..

    Morning,all.

Re the share issue ,nothing we can say or do is gonna change things. We can warn them in advance, laugh at them when it goes titsup, even commiserate with them when the bailiffs come-a-knocking. But we ain’t gonna stop it.

The MSM as usual have closed their eyes and ears to Rangers riding roughshod over common decency,be it towards the rest of Scottish football, creditors, their fans,it’s all fair game to keep the fairytale alive.

All we have to do is concentrate on our own issues, which are success on the field, and success off it. Planning for the medium-to-long-term is vital. We can start with Neil and his backroom staff, sign them up,and continue with our most important players.

But ensuring that the Celtic fans buy into this-NOT in the same way as the huns are being roped in-is most important of all. Unity would be a good starting point.

I know January is being touted for Tony Stokes return but, having seen the latest video on the Club’s official YouTube channel, I’m wondering. He was brought into the squad’s photo call on a golf cart and still had to use crutches to get to his seat.

  9. Charles Green referred to the tax tribunal ‘having come out in OUR favour’.

    Is he assuming liability here?

From last night, it’s no anger, it’s sheer frustration, seeing the game I love being destroyed, and seeing the club I love being dragged down with it, and the seemingly lack of action to stop it.

    …………………………………………………………………………….

You are so, so right about the amount of money being drained out of the club, you would think that a trouble shooter could go in for a week or so and see where things could be managed better.

Years ago when I worked offshore, I spent a lot of time on the Forties field, and spent most of my time doing nothing, I would work on average 1 day in 10, so had pleanty of time on my hands.

I noticed that BP were wasting on average 8k a day moving containers about the field, myself and another bloke reckoned we could save them easily 5k a day, so we went to BP with a proposal, they didn’t want to know, they didn’t even ask us how we proposed to save them the money.

Not that it’s anything like a football club, but there are well over 200 wages a week going out of the club, not advocating making people redundant, but putting the 200 wages to better use.

Especially the wages the suits are taking out.

  12. Catch-22, one of the funniest and most biting works of Satire that ever graced the page.

The character of MIlo Minderbender was based on a very real wartime phenomenon, playing both sides off each other with only one goal, that of profit, uncaring of who got hurt or why.

When questioned, ol’ Milo would always say -“Everybody gets a share”.

Yossarian, the anti-hero hero finally demanded something more concrete than mere words. He wanted his share there and then!

Milo, after some prevarication and supposed arm-twisting, eventually relented.

He solemnly handed Yossarian a piece of paper.

There written were the words – “A share”.

Thank God such scandalous practices are consigned to the past!

    Cheers,

I share your despair on the state of the game.

I can understand Celtic’s position in that they have to keep the club in business, but I find it extremely difficult to reconcile that with playing in a corrupt, crooked environment.

I can feel myself slowly disengaging with the game.

Thereis not the will within football authorities to run the game fairly or equitably.

Given we have a few quid in the bank, what would you do..

    Sign a £4m player

Take £100 off every season ticket and fill the stadium

Given some of our high profile signings over the last few years I would opt for a reduction in season ticket prices.

  24. Bada bing

You beat me to it.Lenny has to learn to be more wise with the media,a simple ,we deal with all players internally.

  25. stringer bell take £100 of and fill the stadium mate for me. Can anyone tell me why we stopped selling the half season tickets as I know of a few family and friends that were trying to buy these for this season with the view to taking the full one next season.

Re stokes IMO he should’ve known better. the real IRA are an enemy to the people of ireland – catholic & protestant!

  27. I’m also in the camp that says reduce season tickets. Alo make walk up tickets cheaper.

Be nice to give a wee bit back to the fans.

Many fans are looking at the thick end of a grand to attend home games. If Celtic can reduce this, they should. Especially as Eton continues to run (ruin) our country.

    More than a club.

Anyone seen sydney Tim since we beat Barca btw:-)

  30. Re Anto Stokes.

Leggo’s last couple of blogs have gone strong against AS, but the one today is shocking, someone from the club should do something about him, he is dangerous.

yes, i agree but, the club should never have been put in such a position in the first place.
