Love him, or love him, you have to love Martin O’Neill. He is a tonic for what ailed Celtic in recent weeks. Stiffer challenges lie ahead, however, Celtic recorded not only an impressive 4-0 win, but did so while recording season-high attacking stats. His self-deprecating charm, “That’s something to do with my dreadful insecurity problems” belies an impressive intellect and oceans of experience.
Auston Trusty returned to the team for his first outing since August, replicating the Scales-Trusty central defensive due from last season’s most impressive performance – away to Atalanta. Anthony Ralston relieved Colby Donovan, as experience was preferred over potential.
The goals came from three players who should benefit from them. Johnny Kenny is our first-choice striker, for now, and got the important first two goals. Sebastian Tounekti got his second for the club, with Benjamin Nygren again getting on the scoresheet. All three will benefit this weekend.

You say that (the) “accumulation of £100 million (cash) is a mystery”, well it certainly is a mystery as to where you found that kind of money unless it was doon the back o the proverbial aul couch. It may be that I am reading the wrong Celtic Annual Report, it’s possible, but for the record could you point us as to where you find this figure in the most recent accounts?
THEORIGINALSADIESBHOY on 30TH OCTOBER 2025 12:25 PM
Saville money. I’d delete that quick smart. Surely a typo.
————————-
Jim’ll fix it 👍
Probably like most of the squad I think Nygren will be a bit low in confidence.
With good management I think that will improve and there’s a lot more to come from him.
MoN the Honda Civics.
Martin does seem to have brought some much needed levity, he probably understands intuitively what is needed to give everyone a lift. It certainly looked like it after a nervy start last night.
The players looked like they had a freedom about their play thats been missing for a while.
Maybe all it took was a fresh voice with fresh ideas, and things will get harder quickly, Martin does look like hes exactly what we need at the moment
Seeing the Blessed Martin back in Paradise couldnt help but rekindle memories of our last fateful European adventure in Espana……….
A funny story – ( well at-least it is to me)
Thinking back to pre-season.
Cork City v The Hoops……a stunning summers evening in my adopted hometown – the place is heaving with Hooped-up Tims of various shapes, sizes and states of “refreshment”, pubs jumpin’ and a hilarious march up to the ground in great company to see The Grand Old Team.
Joining me were two right good Tims, Old School types who can reel of scores formations and are generally good craic.
After the match, Bhoyed up we headed for te City Centre, the old old part of Cork up Barrack steet to a crackin’ old boozer called Tommy Barry’s……….
…..the name’s important.
One of the Bhoys was / is a regular. and drinks with the owner Tom Barry – He tells us years and years ago they had a fitba team who were quite handy and entered a competition in France…… Tom agreeing to fund the adventure but they needed a name for the team. What could it be???
*drum roll*
Barry’s St Germain…

Hearts now being favoured with shocking decisions in Operation Stop Celtic.
BADA BING
We have 3 more games – Rangers, Midtjylland & Kilmarnock – before a 2 week international break.
I’d like Martin and Shaun to take us to the break, leaving the new manager time to get to know his players during the break, assuming 3 weeks is enough time to sign up the new gaffer.
Celtic Mac – off the top of my head, I think the accounts stated around £60+ Million cash? .
I think that was the situation only at the end of June 2025 – and didn’t take into account profits from player trading etc. during the summer.
Unfortunately, neither of us has access to Celtic’s bank account :-) – but £100m is the defacto figure that is generally bandied around.

Thought the speed of play going forward last night was excellent. Good to see young Osman getting a chance and he looked sharp when he came on. Don’t know what that says when someone new comes in the door and gives a kid 15 minutes when he never had a sniff before! Sarracchi was excellent. Great determination and never one to shy away from the tackle. Did think VAR was going to pull up Arne and give him a red. My only complaint, and this is about the ref, is that when players delay a game by kicking the ball away, that is supposed to be an automatic yellow card. The Ref did nothing when Falkirk did it at least 4 times, but when Johnny Kenny, nudged the ball away , he was is his face for a good few seconds.
Hail Hail and good to have some positivity, and even better to hear the Bold Martin talk about our captain in such a brilliant way.

Couldn’t agree more the referee was poor for what on the face of it are very straightforward decision; kick the ball away after a free kick is awarded against you is a yellow card, not for this boy. Another pet hate of mine is a team is attacking, in this case Celtic and an opponent sits down, no head injury, referee stops play so he can get treatment. Rugby is much better at this if you need treatment and it does not interfere with play the physio comes on and the game continues without you. Before anyone says, ‘what about player welfare?’ rugby is light years ahead of football in this regard.
It seems to me that some are confusing the tree for the roots. The corporate entity is the tree, but it is fed entirely by the roots—the fans who buy the tickets and the shirts. It’s a simple fact that without healthy, sustained roots, the whole structure, including every branch at the top, withers.

Agree with you re Callum Osmand. Guess wee Shaun and big Mick had bit of input there. Will give him such a lift to be part of Martin’s outlook. He’s got a great football backdrop at Fulham (and we got both Dembele and O’Reilly from there) and he may well provide a good option as the season moves on, especially if we lose Tounetki and possibly Maeda (hope not but he did have a move lined up) in January. Here’s hoping.
BSR re: Jim’ll……………
lol
Tom- that’s a good point, too many changes too quickly won’t help, but if we need to wait x amount of months for someone, I would be OK with what we have,a win on Sunday would really shift the momentum for us

Celtic Plc stock is trading near it’s highest in 25 years. One hundred and ninety of your earthly pounds to buy one share.
tim malone
It doesn’t work like that. Anyways we paid out for five of the players we brought in, especially for the two wingers, so I’m guessing that used up a fair chunk of the Kuhn transfer fee.
£77.31 mill on June 30 2025, will be nowhere near £100m now.
And you can take that to the bank!
TonySopranoCSC
Individually there was far better performances
KS looked assured and a top class save at 1 0
Back 4 were good Individually if not collectively
Again midfield players played well if not as a unit
Up top you can’t argue with 2 goals from Kenny…I thought tounekti was in and out but dangerous though it seemed Falkirk got closer second half.
Forest was Forest ..has probably earned a semi spot.
Funny to see Paul sing MON’s praises …maybe I have a longer memory than him !!!!

Desmond has the market in the barras place 👍
Celtic mac …you forgetting the Idah money the lagerbeilke money and the Frimpong 30% kick back ??..I’d say it’ll be well over 90 million!!!
And you can take that to the Bank !!!
Celtic Mac – you may well be correct – but whether its £77.31M or something in excess doesn’t really detract from the question as to whether it has been accumulated through incompetence or lack of vision.
The other point I was making is that if some believe that the cash is being used to pay extraordinary dividends to shareholders, they are wrong.
I see some posters still under the illusion that Celtic plc don’t have bills, wages and sundry outgoings to pay and that a bank balance can only increase.
Respect, Paul.
Your leader was worth it for the first sentence alone.
🤣🤣🤣
We’ve got a big wage bill, reduced European money, very few if any big saleable players.
We’ll need to fund a new coaching team and new players.
The bank balance will take a hit over the next 12 months
Bank balances can surely go up or down – but I would wager a lot of money that Celtic’s has been on the increase.
Tom McLaughlin @ 1:54 pm,
Is that a fact Tom!?
Well, I never, those people must be particularly stupid then Tom.
There’s no accounting* for fholk, is there Tom – shrugs shoulders…
*See what I did there…

Wee huns will bag McInnes at the end of the season. Tony Bloom will point out that a team eight points clear shouldn’t lose this league.

Yes, that’s because we’ve already sold them…

And as Tam Mac pointed out there’s money going out as well in.
Not to mention the bhoycott….
Which I wont
Finding a permanent manager mid-season is going to be tough. Any quality manager with the levels of commitment needed to take the Celtic job is unlikely to leave his current team in the lurch. Do we want a manager that is willing to do that? Like another poster said, I think MON is here for a wee while. He will be able to identify where the team needs strengthened and also identify potential targets. It’s obvious we need firepower up front and I would think DD will back MON in January. Beyond that, I don’t see any other recruits coming in.
Hope we’re not forgetting 52,000 Celtic supporters ST’s …… approx another £30M ( last direct debits due tomorrow) 👍

“Guess you’ve never heard of NewCo then…
Are you one of those guys who think Martin O’Neil will be facing Rangers AGAIN!!”
……….
AFTER Sevco got promoted in 2016, just as Timdom was blinded by the light of the arrival of the Brendan-1 circus.
Why did Celtic PLC agree with Sevco PLC, to carry out a fraud on Celtic season ticket holders and to put old Rangers 49 Quid prices onto new club Sevco tickets?
And why have you, Chairbhoy NEVER mentioned this fraud in 9 years?
Because Chairbhoy and 60,000 others, blogs, plodcasts, etc, are ALL frauds until they call this out.
Sorry if the truth hurts but so be it.
Celtic fans who are scared of the truth immediately stop being Celtic fans.
Nine years of going along with the PLC’s:
“Same Club Lie Ticket Trick”
Means that the ENTIRE Celtic Collective are as fraudulent as the PLC.
Not a single fan out of the 60,000 has the integrity to call for anybody to be sacked.
Then there is the 2 faced whining from fans about Neil Lennon being appointed in the shower.
BUT.
These same fans are living on their knees throwing season ticket money to those PLC members who appointed NL in the shower????
Hail Hail the Hypocrites are here.
The entire club is drowning in hypocrisy.
Dermot Desmond’s statement is the best thing that ANY Celtic executive member has said since the PLC’S inception.
Why do I say that?
Because I – KEVJUNGLE – am the ONLY Celtic fan since 2016 who has not helped Celtic FC to cover up the lie that Sevco are Rangers.
In 2005 I walked out the front door with MON when he went out of his way to warn us about were the club was heading as “THE SLOW LANE” was now the way of things.
[If MON is in some way brought into the club again for a decent period of time then I’ll be sick as a dog, as I cannot go to cheer him on as I no longer am able to sit on a seat upright or stand for too long – cue a flood of posts from disabled people haters.] lol
I, KEVJUNGLE, and only I, could throw the first stone….as my Celtic soul is FREE from any SUCK THE BOARD corruption.
The Jungle Book page 49, chaper 67 says:
“KEVJUNGLE, AND ONLY KEVJUNGLE, WILL TELL YOU THAT ZERO % OF 50,000 RANGERS FANS WERE IN DAVID MURRAY’S BOARDROOM BEING PAID EBT’S.
AND CELTIC FC SHOULD HAVE SAID SO IN 2012, BUT THEY HID UNDER THE BED KEEPING THEIR POWDER DRY LIKE GIRLS BLOUSES.
THE JUNGLE BOOK WILL ALSO TELL YOU THAT:
KEVJUNGLE – IS NOT A NARRATIVE SUCKER, OR A PLC SHILL IN DENIAL LIKE EVERY CELTIC BLOG, WEBSITE, PLODCAST, YOUTUBE CHANNEL, CLIQUE COLLECTIVE CLOWN SHOW AND ALL OF THEIR NON STOP BUFFOONERY, ETC.”
Here endeth the lesson. lol
The Jungle Book gives you wings.
