Love him, or love him, you have to love Martin O’Neill. He is a tonic for what ailed Celtic in recent weeks. Stiffer challenges lie ahead, however, Celtic recorded not only an impressive 4-0 win, but did so while recording season-high attacking stats. His self-deprecating charm, “That’s something to do with my dreadful insecurity problems” belies an impressive intellect and oceans of experience.
Auston Trusty returned to the team for his first outing since August, replicating the Scales-Trusty central defensive due from last season’s most impressive performance – away to Atalanta. Anthony Ralston relieved Colby Donovan, as experience was preferred over potential.
The goals came from three players who should benefit from them. Johnny Kenny is our first-choice striker, for now, and got the important first two goals. Sebastian Tounekti got his second for the club, with Benjamin Nygren again getting on the scoresheet. All three will benefit this weekend.

The Bada Bing @ 4:25 pm,
He probably walked in like he owned the place…
Talking of the EGO known as DD
St Stivs said that DD’s wealth will grow by almost 2,000,000,000.00 due to the latest – JP McManus, Dermot Desmond and John Magnier sale.
Now,
a) I’m sure his percentage of the deal would be below 35%, though could be wrong
b) Surely his estimated current wealth includes his Barchester artifice, even if the realised value is so much higher.
Hail Hail
Chairbhoy- he wasn’t here to watch Falkirk, I believe the Leicester CEO was there last night, rumoured to be coming here….
The Bada Bing @ 5:36 pm,
That’s interesting, while I knew there was probably more to it, I did think giving support to MO’N was part of his appearance.
Let’s hope so… we need a CEO with football experience and vision – if DD et al are here for the duration, and it looks like they are…
Then having someone who can convince them there is value trading as an elite football team must be a huge plus.
Hail Hail
Bada Bing
No surprise if she becomes the new CEO.
No doubts MN must be sick of it. Abuse from ignorant clowns who have no idea about how the club runs all driven by a charlatan has- been of a manager and his pathetic innuendo.
I don’t know the guy but he is a massive Celtic fan who despite his title had little control over events as we can all now see. Even Those who try to choose not to.
Chairboy
How is the top tier today ?
Sounds to be a bit painful.

Significant change coming….
Weeron.
Did anyone else think that Tounetki’s goal was Jotaesque, the run control and finish?
“….all driven by a charlatan has- been of a manager and his pathetic innuendo.”
And there I was thinking that the cheap sniping was over. A new beginning, we move on…but unfortunately Brendan hasn’t flitted yet, still living in B78’s head…
Burnley78 @ 5:53 pm,
Always great mate…
Having a top teir Manager replaced by top teir Martin O’Neill is a blessing.
As you may know, Martin did a life changing job at Wycombe Wanderers, he is a legend in this town where his children went to school.
If anybody can get a functioning footballing team out of this dysfunctional footballing organisation he can.
As you know we haven’t always agreed.
But when it comes to the point that we are a hugely well resourced club with a high value squad that should be winning the Scottish League and Cups easily and getting to the semi’s and finals of the Europa, and increasing our Co-efficent like a very poor R2ngers side managed to do – I’m in agreement
Relying on the “professions” like Lawyer Micheal Nicholson and Chartered Accountant Peter Lawwell was definitely the wrong approach and kept us back.
I totally understand why you need the expertise of the “professions” but rarely should they be seen in the C-suite outside their speciality.
Hail Hail
Evening all.
Just a wee reminder, tomorrow the ‘Shipwrecks’ will be meeting up at The Ship Bank in the Saltmarket, Glasgow.
If you can please come along, you will enjoy yourself. It’s nice to put faces to monikers.

IF we had signed Kyogo when Brendan was in charge, we would have thought he was a dud and questioned his recruitment, but we already knew what he was capable of and it was horrible to see such a potent threat being neutralized by the new managers tactics/style of play.
Last night was already a breath of fresh air. Hopefully there’s more to come.
Belmont,
What’s happened to BRRB?.
TheOriginalSadiesBhoy re: stonk price
Indeed, lol. I was reading it in yank money as $2.40 per share. Fat fingered the conversion!

I actually thought Stevie Chalmers..but i know what u mean.
Thunder Road @ 6:39 pm,
Obviously haven’t kept up with the wee man’s career in France and England.
This is on Kyogo’s limited attributes
Brendan Rodgers got a lit more out of Kyogo ghan Chris Davies…
What does that mean?
Hail Hail
TURKEYBHOY
BRRB has taken a sabbatical, he will be back on again from Saturday I’m sure.
Thanks for asking.
BURNLEY78…
Noticed this in Dermot Desmond’s rather strange input to the once excellent Celtic FC website…
“In June, both Michael Nicholson and I expressed to Brendan that we were keen to offer him a contract extension, to reaffirm the club’s full backing and long-term commitment to him. He said he would need to think about it and revert. Yet in subsequent press conferences, Brendan implied that the club had made no commitment to offer him a contract. That was simply untrue”.
Now I remember you posted on here that Brendan was offered a new extended contract and rejected it.
Obviously a journo picked up on that leak and asked Brendan Rodgers about it at a media conference – Brendan, obviously not knowing what the journalist was asking about and not understanding you had leaked the (mis)information on social media – denied it…
This seems to have got DD’s dander up…
Of course, Brendan Rodgers clarified the position at the next media conference, yet it seems the damage was already done.
So well done you – hope you are proud of yourself.
Who actually leaked that information to you?
Did you make up the the part that Brendan Rodgers was offered a new contract or did the the person leaking the information do that.
Hail Hail

Having a top teir Manager replaced by top teir Martin O’Neill is a blessing.”
You seem to have forgotten already – our last top tier manager left a bin fire of a footballing department behind him. A demotivated unhappy group of players playing terrible losing football all season, a season heading towards an even bigger disaster and a football club at odds with itself.
It didn’t work, move on, more of the same won’t do.
Celtic40me @:6:55 pm,
That’s not true, so could we please park your obsession with Brendan Rodgers
We move on…
Hail Hail
i dont think ned or executives changes are coming at all.
dd actions last night were a giruy to the collective.
he will make another 2 billion soon .
he wont be told by anyone what to do
double down.
find new supporters maybe.
I was in Area 113 last night – eff me the Green Brigade are young ( me 56).

Celtic40me @:6:55 pm,
That’s not true, so could we please park your obsession with Brendan Rodgers
It’s true. We got beaten by Dundee and Hearts in the last ten days to go 8 points behind in the league. Rock bottom stuff. It wasn’t working.
Move on, that model failed. Time for something a bit more modern
If the results are bad then yiu need change what you’re doing. When theyre that bad then radical change is needed.
Learn from your mistakes and move on
Celtic40me @ 7:36 pm,
We were not rock bottom, we were and are second and favourites to win the League.
Get real and move on…
Hail Hail
I rarely post on here these days, but a few thoughts on our potential managers.
First, whoever it is needs to be a better option than MoN and Shaun Maloney.
MoN might be in his 70s, but he is a very astute operator.Maloney didn’t do very well as a manager, but his current role is to coach, not to manage.
Second, if its a candidate from outside these shores, I woukd like the individual to have managed in a different country outside their homeland and have experienced the practical issues linked to relocating.
I am sure that when Ange moved to Scotland, he benefitted from the practical experience of moving his family.
Third, they need to have some trophies in the cabinet, and ideally the resilience of recovering from setbacks.
Fourth, they need to be able to manage the noise, supporter expectations and media scrum which goes with the job.
By default, my criteria rules out the Bodo guy, folk like Duff and many of the names.
Lastly, Frank Rijkaard and Vincent Kompany’s CVs werent particularly impressive pre Barca and Bayern, so hopefully, there is a robust process which identifies a lot more names than we are currently hearing, and gets someone who hits our requirements.

Please………..
No to Duffer………….
Nice guy, good Tim.
Knows a lot about a Football
:0
Not a Manager.
Any new CEO would be better than Harpo Marx….
BURNLEY78…
Obviously as a Club Sponsor, you had an official capacity and were privileged to confidential and sensitive information.
Of course what your status was and why you were privy to private information regarding Brendan Rodgers contract status I don’t know.
What I do know is that you stated that Brendan Rodgers was offered a contract and rejected it.
That was not accurately what either BR’s or DD’s version of events seems to be, which was more to do with ongoing “private” negotiations.
So the point is, the question was asked at a media conference, after you had leaked the information, it now seems an important development, built from a misunderstanding.
So, I ask, who leaked that information to you and did they tell you a contract offer had been made and rejected or was this embellishment yours?
Hail Hail
And please spare us the nonsense that Nicholson didn’t want the job…..he took it and the ridiculous salary that went with it,old saying- if you take the money, you do the job,up until 3 weeks ago 95% of Celtic supporters couldn’t pick him out in a line up,another grey man we have made a millionaire.
One must always remember that narcissists rewrite history to escape accountability.
There will be NED and board changes.
Burnley78 pinged me on the side!
The Battered Bunnet on 30th October 2025 2:59 pm
Keiran McKenna in an interview this afternoon, following reports of him being linked to Celtic:
“My focus is purely on this club, this group, and preparation for this weekend’s fixture. I work here as if I’m going to be here forever.”
———-
Clearly he’s aligned with the traditions and values held dear by PL ;)
———-
Meanwhile, days after DD’s stinging attack I’m dismayed/puzzled Brendan and his lawyers have not issued any kind of retort. Hmmm…
Quad- i think he will wait till after Sunday
Chair Bhoy
G
Don’t wait on a direct answer ,he has never given one HH
In the interests of the team or the time his NDA ends ;))
Or another reason I’m not seeing BB?
Brendan is in Rio just now and will be attending the match in Sunday.
Midterm holidays in England this week so most of lawyer’s are off also there will be a reply to DD outburst but it will be done correctly.
.
Fanadpatriot @ 9:12 pm,
Yes, good point…
Yet, we read what he wrote…
Hail Hail
