A victory for ugly men everywhere

921

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has managed to register his image rights on the off-shore tax-efficient territory of Guernsey.  Income received there for use of his rights everywhere else will not attract the kind of tax mere mortals pay in their daily lives.

Pellegrini, 60, developed a genial personality to combat profound ugliness, an affliction which has affected him for decades, so news that his image has commercial value is a wonderful boon for the multi-millionaire.  Manchester City will also benefit as any monies they pay for use of their manager’s image will not attract tax or National Insurance contributions.

Uefa president, Michele Platini, who has never had to worry about ugliness, now has a different challenge.  Whether or not to abandon his well-meaning Financial Fair Play aspirations, or get ugly on those who try to usurp his best intentions.

I had the same thought as you in terms of the impact on Rangers.

However they will argue that they signed up to the rules as they are and not how they might be.

On that basis the effective date will not be this season and much as I hate to be fair to them I think that would only be right.

Hopefully there will also be clarity of what happens if a club fails to emerge from administration i.e gets LIQUIDATED! This is the hole that the SFA and SPL drove the Sevco 5088/Scotland coach and horses through.

I agree with you, BUT! If there has been skulduggery and they have broken the rules, IE not declaring there proper situation, then I would say ALL bets are of, IMO.

    He’s 23 years old.

    ——————-

First broke it at cardiff in july/ aug

Fell in first race 4 weeks ago then got up and had 4 more rides to get a couple of point in his persuit of world title, raced 2wks later(last sat to clinch title).

The young man has story and a half to tell already from emigrating to Oz his family giving up everything to come home and stay in a caravan park to give him a chance at his dream, his father then tragically took unwell and passed away which had a traumatic effect on the boy.

He then buckled down and gave it his all from exercise, diet the works and in 18 months the results are there for all to see.

put in the effort get results some young footballers I know of could look and learn.

I think you’re right. The only compromise I can see is that they insert an additional clause that states you cannot be promoted if in administration at the end of the season. Since they are not guaranteed that at the moments in theory it doesn’t jeopardise the integrity of the competition if it’s changed mid-season.

I think if you go into but come out of administration within the season, you perhaps shouldn’t be relegated automatically.

  8. Can’t imagine the rules would be made to stick to them retrospectively. The deid team simply ignore all and any rules anyway. They “play” to their own, courtesy of the SFA and the MIBs. What may hasten their next demise (or whatever their next expiring may be called) is their playing fast and loose with the monies they don’t have yet continue to squander.

leftclicktic- I don’t know how much speedway riders get paid, but they earn the money the hard way.

… here’s a bit more about speedway at Celtic Park

    They should bring it back!

  11. By my reckonings we have the following players away on International duty:-

Scotland (one match)- Mulgrew & Brown (and Forrest???)

    Ireland (two matches)- Tony Stokes

    England (2 matches)- Fraser Forster

    Sweden (2matches- Lustig)

    Israel (2 matches)- Biton & Kayal ??

    Finland (1 match)- Pukki

    Greece (2 matches)- Sammi

Australia (two matches) – only Loanee Jackson Irvine (Rogic pulled out)

    Honduras (one match?)- Izzy

Both our Welsh players are out and Efe does not have a Nigeria game till next month. But we can have 12 to 18 players away on full and under-21 duty at any given time. Some will not play but we can expect Brown, Mulgrew, Izzy, Lustig, Pukki and Sammi to be played.

Four days after what will be, for some, their second International game, they will have to turn out for us vs Hibs and we will have to keep many out to recover for the important Ajax game 3 days after that.

We can ill afford an injury to Izzy, Stokes, Sammi or Pukki but any loss will be very harmful to our Ajax prospects.

The return of D King is the end game in a scam years in the making. again IMHO

question is who has been duped?

  13. Reading about the judiciary earlier got me thinking to my one and only court appearance (well 4 times actually) for going through a red light.

It was a couple of years ago when we had the extreme winter weather. The 9th of December was the date. I was driving my taxi back from Glasgow Airport, the speed limit was 30mph all the way back in. (the motorway was only opened the previous day after being closed for 3 days) Anyway I got stopped by the police who accused me of going through the lights as you come off the Kingston bridge at Bothwell St. I asked if they took the weather conditions into consideration and they said all the more reason to be going slower.

I was raging and went the full hog. When I got the citation it said the road/weather conditions were “moderate”. 4 times I had to go to court. At the time the police said I would be as well accepting the fine and the 3 points. That made me angrier.

Intermediate diet was a word I had to get used to.

I got my daughters to download news stories from that day, I took a video of those traffic lights changing (there is no delay in those lights) and on my fourth appearance went to court.

They did the usual, one officer has 22years experience and the other 24 and their lawyer asks do I think the officers would make this up (or words to that effect) My response was that I didn’t know them personally and couldn’t comment. (i wish i’d mentioned those fine upstanding officers at Hillsborough who altered their statements)

I was defending myself so I asked them both what the weather conditions were like. Both said moderate. I asked them to read the headlines from the Daily Mail. “Scotland suffering its worst winter in 100 years” was the headline. I’m sure anyone who remembers that week knows Glasgow and Scotland for that matter was like a skating rink. Both officers were angry at me asking this and said that just because everywhere else was like the North Tundra that this pocket at Bothwell St at Pitt St was like the Bahamas (aye right)

I also asked was it both sets of lights I went through on red or just the second ones. They said both. I asked how they could tell from their vantage point as they were sitting in Pitt St and couldn’t see the first set of lights. They both said they could see both sets still. I brought out a picture of google maps at that junction and said “how could you see the first set of lights as that office building is in the way”. They both stuttered and stammered and were making out as if I doctored the photo. They even said they stopped me on Bothwell St when in fact they stopped me on Waterloo St.

Anyway to cut a long story short I won and left court feeling as happy as Larry. I had parked in the Gorbals and I honestly feel I could have walked across the ClydeI had that much of a buzz.

Anyway sorry for the rant and sometimes the good guy wins.

Not sure I agree with the criticism thrown at Jack Wiltshire – I agree with his comments

English only to play for England – fair enough

If you continue the theory it makes sense

Any creed any colour just play beautiful football and you can play for Celtic

Bad debt criminal record and a gambling problem and you can play for them
