A victory for ugly men everywhere

921

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has managed to register his image rights on the off-shore tax-efficient territory of Guernsey.  Income received there for use of his rights everywhere else will not attract the kind of tax mere mortals pay in their daily lives.

Pellegrini, 60, developed a genial personality to combat profound ugliness, an affliction which has affected him for decades, so news that his image has commercial value is a wonderful boon for the multi-millionaire.  Manchester City will also benefit as any monies they pay for use of their manager’s image will not attract tax or National Insurance contributions.

Uefa president, Michele Platini, who has never had to worry about ugliness, now has a different challenge.  Whether or not to abandon his well-meaning Financial Fair Play aspirations, or get ugly on those who try to usurp his best intentions.

Seen this on TSFM yesterday :))

The SFA have a South African / English – English / South African dictionary.

I understand it contains the following definitions:

    Glib: adj. Fit

    Shameless: adj. Proper

    Liar: adj. Person

Therefore I’m sure they will have no problem translating the description used by the RSA judiciary…….

  4. Sftb 13.02 I agree.Ithink Paul is getting at that.

I think the ugliness comes in the tax evasion that is allowed by those who can afford it.The welfare state for those rich enough to participate is a deep deep and complex but rewarding pool,Pellegrini is one of many, who, once over a certain threshhold will have advice coming from all directions on how to evade and avoid and he will get a pat on back for it as its all ‘legal’.

contrast this sharply with the welfare state for the poor and to coin a phrase it gives me the boak. The attacks on the unemployed, the ill,the downtrodden and are what i think of when I read of off shore accounts.

For the commute in these areas I believe I would be looking at close to 3k a year for a season ticket, but I can pay this monthly via wage deduction and would be looking to rent/buy within walking distance of the train station.

  8. gallowgate mad squad on

I actually think Pellegrini could be classified as ‘ a tasty bit of older man’. Compared to Gallowgate 60 year olds,(some do make it), the following observations can be made:

1- He has two eyes. Most men over 30 in the Gallowgate have one eye.

2- He has luscious hair, some would say ‘Catholic hair’.

3- He can speak some English. As opposed to mumbling profanities under breath and howling like a werewolf.

4- He isn’t on the sick (and he’s not even sick!).

5- He may not be a confirmed alcoholic.

If I were a woman, say about 60, but still gagging for it, and still ‘operational’ ‘down there’, I’d whip out the bus pass no problem and show him what any self respecting wee wummin from the east end can do to a man- give him a performance he’d never forget- roids permitting.

  9. I don’t think the argument about international players is to do with racial purity. I can see good players from smaller countries ” moving ” to higher ranked ones.

    Re Ajax’s call ups

They appear to have only two players in the Dutch squad- keeper Cillesen and defender Blind, neither of whom seems likely to start ( Feyenoord and PSV have 4 and 5 players respectively).

They seem to have 4 Danes (3 may be in the squad) 1 Finn, 1 Icelander, and 1 Cameroonian possibly on International duty.

A couple of hard matches for their Danes, against Italy and Malta, would suit us.

Amongst other issues that the article raises, is the anachronistic position of International football.

It is a scene that has long outlived it’s relevance.

It used to offer a level of football higher than the domestic football of the day; when foreign players were scarce in countries’ Leagues.

Now, in most countries, the top teams are better than the National side, due to the influx of top players from other countries.

Added to that is the disruption these International games cause to club football and supporters.

At one time, the wages paid for an International game was more than a player’s club wage.

Not any more. The clubs, via their supporters, are subsidising these jaunts.

It is particularly galling in Scotland, where fans are expected to finance an historically corrupt Association, for fear of being branded unpatriotic.

Too much jingoism in the World today, as it is, for my liking.

    Down with Internationals, I say.

    ………………

When people use sports victories to validate their own nationhood in all it’s gory glory …

    Olympics, jingoism, pseudo Empire Games,

Just do your stuff and leave your flags (should that be flegs) at home.

The mention of the police got me thinking about my youngest boys encounters with the police, when he first passed his driving test.

He would wear the Baseball cap and looked about 13,behind the wheel of my car.

Anyway one day he was pulled over by them,to cut a long story short,he said he ended up sitting in the back seat of the police car.

the one in the passenger seat said to him did he no what he had been pulled in for, sons reply was no,

To my sons astonishment, the two policement seemed to argue why they had stopped him,you said pull him in,no it was you who said it.

Eventually the driver told him he could go,my son said he got out of the car, with he thought the two of then now not talking to each other, unbelievable.
