A victory for ugly men everywhere

921

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has managed to register his image rights on the off-shore tax-efficient territory of Guernsey.  Income received there for use of his rights everywhere else will not attract the kind of tax mere mortals pay in their daily lives.

Pellegrini, 60, developed a genial personality to combat profound ugliness, an affliction which has affected him for decades, so news that his image has commercial value is a wonderful boon for the multi-millionaire.  Manchester City will also benefit as any monies they pay for use of their manager’s image will not attract tax or National Insurance contributions.

Uefa president, Michele Platini, who has never had to worry about ugliness, now has a different challenge.  Whether or not to abandon his well-meaning Financial Fair Play aspirations, or get ugly on those who try to usurp his best intentions.

Fine story of justice prevailing against liars.

A female in law of mine (a solicitor no less) was driving home late at night in Glasgow and was pulled over by the polis.

As one checked the number plate on the police national computer, the other one walked up to her window. She wound it down and he said “Would you get out the car?”

She did as she was asked and he then said “Please get into the back of the car.”

She opened the back door and climber in – to the back of her own car, then just looked at him.

He said “No, the back of the police car.”

True story. She doesn’t deal with police at all in her line of legal work.

  8. Sipsin @ 12:11,

I’ve just watched the cardihuns interview, he stressed a couple of times how king had invested a lot of money into the huns. Could anyone clarify how much, if any at all money was actually invested in deadco…

It’s strange how David King and a now a few others mention that he invested large sums of money or that he was the only one to invest money.

Now there is the 20Mil that he gave to SDM’S RFC.

I’ve seen runours that he got some, all or more back, but I’ve never seen anything firm.

If he had got it back surely SDM or D&P would have made it known when DK threatened to sue RFCia.

Now as far as the Whyte deal for RFC was concerned I believe this was funded through Liberty Capital, so who invested those funds obviously could have been CW but where did he get the money?

The other funding that is interesting is the Ticketus money, now Ticketus like many similar schemes is a short term investment vechcile with good returns.

But what is the norm is to sell a large block of tickets in advance so the Club can get some money up front, then when the supporters pay for their SBs Ticketus or whomever get their money back with profit.

Now by the mere fact that the Club need money up front suggests a possible cash-flow problem therefore a premium risk.

With Rangers financial woes, withdrawal of funding from the bank and the BTC hanging over it, funding was hugely risky.

Yet Ticketus didn’t just advance in March for the June SB money (a payday loan if you Will), they incredibly advanced three years.

Not only that after they were paid for their first tranche of SBs, Rangers failed to get into Europe so they went back to Ticketus to get another Seasons SB money 4 years in advance.

This is hugely risky, is it possible that some random investors decided to change the investment model and take a huge risk? Well yes, but I think it is far more likely that a Rangers man with available funds was behind the investment.

So in fact we don’t really know who invested all the money in Oldco.

Now could David King have invested in Newco well CW seems to have been involved in Sevco from the beginning and we are still not sure who invested the 5.5 Mil to buy the assets from D&P.

The IPO investors are also by and large anonymous.

So who knows, like you I’m intrigued by the claims that Dave King invested alot of money in Rangers and that Dave King was the only one who put cash into the Club.

Up to date now, the interesting thing is, unlike most Rangers men in or around the Club and the SMSM, in the last few years DK has called it right, he was obviously in the know.

Sure most of the Internet Bampots were but most Rangers men hide behind ignorance and incompetency as excuses for not knowing what was going on.

His last prediction, Newco Will be bust by Christmas!!!

Now last month you have the CEO and CFO of the New Club issuing the Accounts assuring everyone, everything is going to plan then weeks later….

Trips to South Africa for them both…

My wife (a nurse) and her friend (a teacher) were witnesses to a fight outside Kellys bar one night. Nothing much happened she said. 2 punches thrown was about the height of it. The police were nearby and arrested 4 people even though it only involved 2. They punched my mate in the back of the van while referring to him as Paddy whilst he was handcuffed. He complained to the desk sergeant but nothing was done. Went to court. My wife and her friend told what happened but the judge went with the polices version of events and subsequently fined the 4 of them.

Is it any wonder very few have faith in the system.

Or maybe I’m just angry I had to watch the weans while she was at court.

Just received the following reply from my Milton Keynes MP regarding the Ibrox PR disaster for HM armed forces.

    Dear *******

Thank you for your email and thank you to alerting me to this situation, I was unaware that this had occurred.

I will look into this on your behalf and if you wish I will write to the Secretary of State for Defence to ask him for his views on the matter.

    Kind regards,

    *****

    ————————————–

    Dear Mr *******

Saturday’s embarrassing spectacle of British troops parading around Ibrox stadium singing sectarian songs was lamentable, all the more so when the commander, Major General Nick Eeles, General Officer Commanding Scotland, cancelled all such displays after last year’s remembrance day embarrassment.

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/rangers-remembrance-day-parade-branded-1558062

The British army is supposed to play a neutral role for the whole of the nation and it shouldn’t let itself, either willingly or by deceit, be led into such displays. Rangers, as you may know were liquidated in 2012 and are currently fighting a case against HMRC for £70m in taxes and fines, they also walked away leaving a trail of unpaid creditors in their wake. Is it right the British army should be used in such circumstances?

Rangers and it’s supporters have a long history of sectarianism and violence and the use of undisciplined British armed forces in some sort of Neuremburg style rally to sing the songs of the British extremists from Northern Ireland is shameful, it is even more appalling soldiers should be photographed holding a scarf with the sentiment “keep Ulster protestant”.

With your military background and my constituency MP could I ask you to comment on this disgraceful episode.

    Regards

Enjoyed the story of your struggles with Glasgow’s (x ray) finest, and it reminded me of a less successful effort by a distinguished Scottish scientist.

    After the war Sir Robert Watson-Watt emigrated to Canada where at one point he was stopped in a radar trap and fined for speeding. Sir Robert of course has a fair claim to being the “father of radar” through his pre and post war research. His (apocryphal) reply was;

“Had I known what you were going to do with it I would never have invented it!”
