A week for leaks

1020

This seems to be a week for leaks.  I hear one club recently refunded two investors to the tune of £500k each.  Don’t worry, it wasn’t Celtic, and I hear the club involved are one of the most financially secure in Britain.  I also hear the national broadcaster rejected a former presenter’s request to return to the fold.

Still nothing from the SFA, who were responsible for issuing associate membership to Newco Rangers, on the leak from the club’s board meeting that the Association expressed alarm that earlier information had leaked from chairman, Malcolm Murray.  Mr Murray recently instigated an investigation into the relationship between Craig Whyte and Charles Green, the nature of which could invalidate Newco’s associate membership.

Far from being alarmed at leaks, the SFA should be keen to see full disclosure.  Reports suggesting otherwise are alarming.  I am sure the SFA president has already demanded openness and clarity…….  Relax, standards of corporate governance at the SFA are as high as ever.

I am also sure the leak from Newco was not a shot across the SFA’s bows, providing a glimpse into what looks like some murky conversations which people at the Association could have much to lose from being exposed.

I was in Chicago a few years ago as well as part of a bus trip so didn’t have a great deal of time to fully explore it. You have however got the millionaire row, where all the posh shops are, you have State Street and there is a marvelous park with the big shiny polished bean and 2 massive statues that spit water out at periodic intervals. We also saw The Jersey Boys at the famous Chicago theatre. The only down side when we were there is that Thems were playing in a Uefa Cup final (how did that happen) and then the following day Tommy Burns passed away. Still a great place to visit though.

What’s this about Stuart McCall winning manager of the year? Didn’t he lose a cup tie to some third division mob?

That result went a long way to him getting manager of the year!

Mick, just walk up and down the street like everyone else, loads of places with entertainment from blues, rock & roll to big bands, go into the ones that have music that you like, some are free some have a cover charge, Budweiser had a stage that was free, lots of bars on the street that slide open their windows and you don’t even have to go inside to get a beer, there is a lot of drinking on Beale Street on Fri/Sat nights. If you like music and beer you will like Beale Street. Good luck and enjoy.

Not to judge the book by the cover, but Frazer Wright has got a face like Kilwinning on the 12th of July.

  12. Who?

Who is there to take the step

To bring the hammer of justice crashing down

With the weight of all this evidence

    Surely, someone could be found

Who is there who will make a stand

To bring a light into the dark

Take the weight upon their shoulder

Surely someone, will step up to the mark

Who is there that is not corrupt

To bring the whole thing to a close

With the weight upon their conscience

    Surely, someone out there knows

  14. i noticed OGR gettin a bit of stick in the last day or 2.

    solution is simple

if all he is going to say is things like ‘wednesday should be an interesting day’ then he shouldnt bother

if a story does break we will hear about it anyway without his hints.

it keeps everyone happy, he avoids attention which he stated he would prefer not to have, and some cqners can get on with their daily lives without constantly hassling him for more info

They’d probably have an open top bus parade with representatives from the Armed Forces and claim it as some kind of world record if one did.
