ABADA D-DAY

1

LIEL ABADA has a massive decision to make before Celtic take on RB Leipzig in Germany tomorrow night.

The Israel international winger, who celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday, will be allowed to opt OUT of the Champions League Group F game in the Red Bull Arena.

Abada is a doubt for the crucial confrontation against the Bundesliga club due to religious reasons. The player was also absent from last season’s Europa League encounter against Real Betis in Seville due to Yom Kippur.

FIRST STRIKE…Liel Abada opens his scoring account for the season with the final goal in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Ross County in Dingwall on August 6.

The Jewish holy day begins today and includes a 25-hour fast. Ange Postecoglou will leave the final decision with the goalscoring winger, according to a report in the Daily Record.

The Hoops boss has cover for the wide right position in Sead Haksabanovic while Japanese international Daizen Maeda can play in the role. Evergreen James Forrest could also come into play, of course.

There will be no pressure on Abada and the final decision will be left with the player.
