In October, the win over Hearts was by the odd goal in seven. Celtic collected the points in thoroughly satisfying circumstances, a result which setup a league campaign that promises so much.
Hearts are third in the league and, despite folding at the sight of a blue shirt, are more than capable of knocking Celtic off their stride tonight.
Conversely, a Celtic win, after a win in Paisley, would see the betting closed on this season’s title.
Ange should give Liel Abada a start. He has been patient from the bench and performed well when called upon. It’s also likely that Hearts will press forward more often in the cup games between these sides at Tynecastle on Saturday, a task more suited to Daizen Maeda. Rest Daizen, play Liel.

About 4 years ago I went to Fir Park for a midweek Motherwell v Celtic match. Our tickets were for the upper stand behind the goals. Both upper and lower were packed with Celtic supporters, all standing.
The problem was, from a few rows back in the upper tier, because everyone was standing, you could only see the top 2 or 3 feet of the goals in front of us. You could just about see the back of the keeper’s head if he stood on the goal-line.
Motherwell scored first through a Lustig own-goal. With about 5 minutes to play, Celtic got a penalty. Sinclair lined-up to take it. We only knew he’d scored because of the roar of the crowd and the reaction of the players.
I’ve been back to Fir Park 3 or 4 times since then, but told our ticket man that we wanted lower tier only, otherwise we’re not accepting. That has done the trick so far, but it really is a sickener when you can’t see the goalmouth action because people insist in standing.

As I have said before, I would be happy to relocate my ST to another part of the stadium if the Celtic End proposal goes ahead.

I had a similar experience at that ground too, always went for bottom tier as a result.
Alternatively you could strip out the seating in the old stand, make it the new standing area but keep the directors seats insitu that would be a 😃 laugh.

Interesting discussion about the possible development of Celtic Park.
One problem is what is the shelf life for a new/upgraded stadium? 10-20 years?
You really need to have a major increase in funding to justify the cost of an upgrade.
I love what Celtic have done to the area outside the stadium but how do we upgrade inside with minimal disruption or another hampden year?
I did try to start a chant one time

Yourkbhoy,
services are usually 25 years and structure between 50 & 100, usually 50 though.
depends on what the building materials are, and what construction type.
Interesting Tobago Street comments on being in Glasgow and the amount of construction going on.
It is a lot but primamrly driven by Barclays Tradeston development and then huge refurbishment upgrades to existing stock all around the IFSD.
Now the big headache is will businesses return.
Around the time structural shelf life expiry surveys and tests are usually more frequent than the typical 5 year, saying that stadiums might be different standard structural shelf life, I’m sure there will be a structural engineer on here that will be more informed.
I’m in the Jungle, top tier near the middle. There is no leeway to do much with the common areas, e.g. bring back bevvy, better food etc. It is a massive crush in those areas at half time (pish and an a bovril) and at full time exit.
I personally would rip out the food stalls. put in a few high tables and have portable beer pumps throwing out plastic pints if they bring it back.
I fail to see why people want to queue up for ages for some crap food. It’s only 90 mins
I think the main stand needs to be re-done ; been talked about for decades.
Get the capacity up and get UEFA 5 star rating. The problem is that it can’t be done in a close season so the guys sitting there miss out or we go to Hampden again

it was the same round my work area in Dublin; loads of buildings finished during lockdown but mostly empty. Town is so quiet with folks still working from home, e.g. still no-one in the big Indeed building and a handful in JP Morgan. Lots of very expensive rental flats empty too

Sorry I didn’t mean the physical structure of the stadium more the expectations of the fans.
How long does it take to go from “state of the art” to shabby…?
RC was that a stutter
Yorkbhoy,
Depend on how well its maintained I expect.
Ant I don’t think it was ever state of the art, new and functional was as good as it got as far as I was concerned :)

I’m glad I don’t have to make the decision on a possible upgrade.

Yorkbhoy,
I remember back in the day not long after the stadium opened, all the lighting went out in the Jock Stein Stand just before the game, I was walking up the stairs when it happened, the stairs were in total darkness. I waited a minute for the emergency lighting to come on, never happened. People feeling their way in the dark to find a door to the concourse, someone should have been sacked for that, the incident was never mentioned as far as I know, no apology for putting people lives in danger, the worst thing about is was the thought that had there been an emergency and people had to leave the stadium in a hurry under the same conditions, there would have been fatalities. Ensuring things like that don’t happen is my line of work. There should have literally been a flicker of the emergency lighting operating, no delay acceptable.
Anyone know what time International Women’s Day ends? I’m feckin starvin.

When I went to bed last night my water supply was off. When I got up this morning it was back on but a funny colour.
I met a female neighbour on the landing later and I asked “was your water a funny colour this morning”? She looked at me in horror.

That is awful… we, quite rightly, think that modern stadia are safe.
feel your pain fred
Flip side to a fringe Hearts team tonight.
They get to injure Celtic players without impacting Saturday’s starting 11.
And Muir is the ref.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I had to explain International Women’s Day to my female boss today, i.e. that it was a Socialist milestone when it was set up.
The younger women see it as advancing parity in wages and senior positions
Back in the day it was a lot worse, leave nursing/teaching when married etc
We are having a referendum later in the year to remove references to ‘women in the home’ from the constitution. Irish Brotherhood , right wing, Catholic fundamentalist shite. Connelly finally gets what he signed for on equality of the sexes, if not fiscal equality
PS the RTE programme ‘No country for women’ was an eye opener for me. Mary Robinson getting president ( good Labour woman) was more seismic than I realised, watching from UK.
PPS which SNP candidate is the best looking😎

why not copy and paste the whole paragraph for the context of what i witnessed, happening in front of my very eyes.
coked up loud and aggresive late arrivals, and people so drunk they cannot operate a barcode and a turnstyle.

Coneybhoy,
Wummin had parity of wages for a long time, the discrepancy is a myth.
What happens is the tabloids take the average days worked in a sector, for men and wummin, they do not include maternity leave or giving up a job to raise the family. They divide it by the standard working week/month then apply wage rate, shazam wummin get less and they’ve got their scoop. And a load of discontented menstruating bampots (unless they have wummin boabies) howling at the moon :oD)))))
Simplified
100 wummin
100 men
All work same day and same hours
10 wummin fell pregnant (obviously fell, might have a claim) take maternity, that you comparing 90 wummin to 100 men and bobs yer uncle they get lass wages than men.
Now I slipped and fell last November, did I get pregnant, did I eff, I broke my wrist, getting pregnant’s a dawdell compared to the hassle I’ve had.
Got to say I’m surprised to see Ralston start, I don’t believe AJ deserves to be dropped he’s been good but then again team rotation is a must if we are to keep everyone ready. Though I still think TR should have been eased in rather than dropped in. Ange obviously likes what he has seen in training and that is, as he tells us, what influences him the most when it comes to team selection.
I see the yanks are doing another Maidan in Georgia. Oh dear.
