Aberdeen’s win at Fir Park last night may have delayed Celtic’s title party but it will be the form of the Pittodrie team, who remain in the Scottish Cup, which will most concern Brendan Rodgers. Celtic’s record against Aberdeen has been imperious since the Irishman took over, but the oftener you show your strengths to an opponent, the better prepared they will be next time.
Aberdeen finished second to Celtic in three of the last four domestic competitions and are in the mix for the second in the league and the Scottish Cup final, should we get through our semi, I will be quite happy to see Motherwell also progress to the final.
Before all that, we have Dundee at Celtic Park tonight, then a trip to Hamilton on Sunday. Win both of those and we will be at least 12 points clear with five post-split games to play. If Aberdeen drop points in each of their next two games, we could win the league against Newco on 22 April, although it would be nice for our city neighbours to watch a league title being won, it does not look likely.

RIP Ray Wilkins. One of the last footballing gentlemen.
When guys in the public eye pass away, you usually tell how good a person they were by the tributes, he must have been a great guy.I was at Poundland when he scored that volley too….
Anybody know how long you need to wait for a hip replacement?
Had to laugh at Zlatan’s response to CR’s goal last night :
““It was a nice goal, but he should try it from 40 metres,”
there’s no I in team, but there is in Irbrahimovic.

Are you a Greek refugee named Philip?

I am off work just now after having one done at beginning of February.
Because I had been suffering and attending docs over last 2 years, I had went again last August and asked my doc to recommend me. I then got the operation in February as stated earlier.
So 6-7 months, remember you have a lot of appointments in between.
Hope this helps. Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

I’m sure I saw hoopslegend Brian Whitaker score with an overhead kick from 20 + yards, much to his amazement, and that of those of us watchin’ from the ole Jungle.
Still didn’t make us like him….
On Iron Horse heading to Paradise.
Hail Hail.

The Brake club from the Garngad has been saved in my gallery.
My Auntie’s party piece ,sung at family gatherings was ‘Are you from the Garngad?’….sung to the tune of ‘Are you from Dixie?’.
Great turn out of Clydebank Tims going to the game tonight in my local. Double Treble Fever.

I posted last week how I thought ‘Roger’ was my most disliked player ever. I was in the Jungle that night. When he ran over and did the theatrical bow, I nearly threw up. Bad pie.

I have heard the tune quite often.

IT WOULD be hard to find anyone who did not like Brian Whittaker, who died in a car crash on Sunday. As a player with Partick Thistle, Celtic, Hearts, and Falkirk, Brian made a host of friends but also had the greater gift of keeping them.
If any word fits snugly around Whittaker, gregarious would have to be it. Brian loved the company of people, footballers in particular but not exclusively.
He played his first senior game for Partick Thistle as a 19-year-old against Clyde in 1975 and went on to become the epitome of Firhill footballers, talented, zany and immensely likeable.
His move to Celtic in 1983 probably came too late to hoist him into the higher echelons where his natural talent ought to have blossomed.
Had it come four years or so earlier there is every chance he would have gone a great deal further than he did. As it was, after a year he moved to Hearts and was still their player-cum-commercial manager when he joined Falkirk.
A left back of style and class, Brian perhaps was a little before his time as a player at the top professional level, in that he was a wing back before the term had been invented. So left-footed was he that it is difficult to recall him making any serious contribution with his right foot but he had enough delicacy in his good boot that it never proved a problem.
After he ended his playing days he became a successful agent with a growing number of clients and was still very much welcome at Tynecastle where he spent most of his later playing days.
Friendly, with a great sense of fun which stretched readily to self mockery, Brian Whittaker leaves those of us who knew him feeling the better for it.

RIP Ray Wilkins – a good guy and a fine footballer.
Ah, we’re being treated to the insights of Wiggy Smith on Sportsound. Anyone else bemused by how he and Billy Dodds seem to have rolling contracts with the BBC?

Don’t know who had the bright idea of playing tonight’s game at Celtic Park but the weather and the feast of football will impact on the attendance

I think you’re completely correct. As well as the two famous facilities known, there’s a fantastic greenspace there, Cuningar Loop, only a few yards behind Springfield and London Roads.
Room enough for families to load up kids, bikes, dogs and kites, bring a picnic and spend hours in fresh air fun except there’s hardly more than twenty car parking spaces available at the bridge entrance.

Found a willing body for my seat tonight even on a CL tv night (I’m in stitches just now and for the first time in seven years it’s nothing to do with Sevco). There remain keen Celts among us and I hope it’s a goalfest to enjoy.

Starry Plough why not, relocate ,as somebody posted later on,there is plenty of land not far from Paradise, Cunnigor Loop,or the Valleys as it was called in my Youth, its idea for a new Stadium, plenty of grounds for parking, and nearer the Motorway’s, and the River Clyde as a ideal setting, what more can a Celtic Support want,
