Aberdeen, Sinclair, Hearts

251

Respect to Aberdeen for their performance on Saturday, it belied their poor start to the season and matched anything we have faced domestically so far.  That said, Celtic grew into the game and always looked to have a goal in them.

Delighted for Scott Sinclair, who was overjoyed at getting the goal.  He has been a special player for us and one who can still contribute.

Perspective is everything.  We are enduring one of the worst starts to the season while others, below us in the table, think their moment has arrived.  After Sunday’s results, we should be more concerned at the six point gap with Hearts.

*my mother was born in Jimson at the back of her granny’s shop. I was born doon the Vale but grew up in the Haldane, my nom-de-plume is due tae our first captain and goalscorer’s learning their trade doon the Tontine aka the Valley tae the locals.

We moved from jimson to mckinlay ave , when I was eighteen , what year were you born ?

  3. On Saturday when Eddy gave the signal to the bench that he could not continue, i saw BR shout down to the subs that were warming up. There was some confusion as to he was shouting for, in my head i was thinking please not Sinclair and let it be Morgan. When SS came on i was expecting nothing and to be honest after losing out on a few 50/50 challenges i was thinking this guy is just an empty jersey. Then of course he scored a sublime winner. To be fair his celebration showed genuine happiness and relief and his subsequent comments afterwards reiterating how much he loves it here etc have been heartening. Scott is a big earner and needs to take the responsibility that comes with it, he is needed now that Moussa, Stuart and Paddy have gone. The time is now to step up and go on a run that will give the team the spark that it needs.

Totally agree with your post. Was hoping for LM as OE’s replacement. Great to see the skill and goal celebration from SS. Agree 100%. Scott is a confidence player, time for that confidence to return

    Now, who remembers these…

Andreas Thom against Rangers at Ibrox.

Paul Lambert against Rangers at Celtic Park.

Murdo McLeod in the ten men won the league game.

Gary Hooper in the last ever Old Firm game.

Shunsuke Nakamura against Rangers at Celtic Park

Nir Bitton against Dundee at Celtic Park

KT against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

All memorable long range efforts. Will we see a Celtic player score a goal like that again? Long range shooting does not seem to be on the menu under Brendan. Not only does this deny the support the joy that only a long range howitzer can bring. Shoorly when teams pack so many bodies in the box, long range shooting can be a way to unlock such defences, either by hitting the back of the net directly, or by taking a deflection in to the goal, or to another Celtic player. Heck, maybe even an own goal might result.

Sorry I missed you last Sunday in Kilmarnock. We stayed in The Clansman after getting off train. Tried to phone you a few times. Poor match in Ayrshire. Better two results since. Hope we kick on now and go on a long winning run.

MIT: Gabapentin is indeed as you described and also used to reduce/stop cramping in legs where the person suffers from back/nerve problems associated with spinal disc dislocations……..Howevah…. One is led to believe that it is a much-sought after relaxant for those among the ‘ can you get Gabapentin Man mob’.

  22. A couple of years ago when a few seats were ripped up at a Friday night game at Motherwell, the smsm couldn’t wait to tarnish the Celtic support, the GB got the blame, even though that has never been proved, point is they were slaughtering us for days, the same goes on at every game but they slaughtered us, now imagine if one of our support had thrown that coin at the lino.

So far this season, a couple of stabbings, riots in the streets, threw a bottle injuring an Aberdeen fan, abusing kids on a euro away trip, throwing coins and injuring an official, attacking and blinding a Celtic supporter minding his own business, not a single arrest, just go back a couple of months, throwing objects, batteries, coins at our players, racial abuse of our players at the game and at the airport, silence.

You are buying into this people, you are supporting them with you money.
