    Disagree.

We will be against 14 and an abetter on the touchline .

Madhun will have remit to send our coach to the stand while the other 3 cheat on the pitch.

StevenGerrardsRangers – 2 wins from their last 7 games. You won’t hear that from the BBC!

  11. ” We’ve had an average of 3.6 days between game and they’ve had 3.5. Amazing attention to detail by the BBC, or desperation. The statistic is an irrelevance.”

I am missing something. My logic tells me that if two teams play eight games in 29 days, then, the average time between games will be the same. No? 3.6 X 7 ( games ) = 25.2 days while 7 X 3.5 = 24. 5 days. Are Sevco in a different time zone?

  14. ONE HOUR more than they will have had to prepare for the game. Is that really what the BBC are referring to as a a marginal advantage?

  15. A wee taste today of what to expect on Saturday, two made up penalties and career ending tackles ignored. All that was missing was sevcos fortnightly unpunished pitch invasion.

I get what you are saying ( and I agree re the desperation of it all ) but I don`t understand how the same amount of games in the same amount of time can lead to different recovery time apart from this final, one hour extra for us from today ( cancelled out and more by our journey time from Aberdeen ).

I am thinking swings and roundabouts. Is my arithmetic at fault?

    JJ

  18. Gordon 64

You are spot on with that.

Don’t get me wrong, absolutely delighted with the combination of outcomes today.

But truth be told, French Eddy bailed Rodgers out massively.

Yet another away game where I think our Brendan over thinks and over complicates things.

First half…. looked like a 4-1-3-2 shape, or some weird system.

Broony as sitting mid, it looked like Christie and Forrest had dual responsibility as false strikers.

Well, I can say this for certain… it was ineffective.

Only when Eddy came on and Forest then went wide right, did things look better in an offense perspective.

First half, everything was through the middle. It was way too congested, and we lacked proper width.

Surely when James Forrest is having the season of his life as a wide right. You don’t disrupt that by experimenting with him through the middle. It doesn’t work

  19. Brown has been a very good celtic player over the years, if he can go to the usa or australia and collect 40k a week fair play to him, but at 33 years old celtic cant be handing out that money to him, i am sure guys like ntcham, eddie and KT etc…. Are getting very good deals but that well be based on age and potential resale.

Brown, boyata, izzy, lustig, gamboa, ddv and allan’s contracts are up at end of season, benkovic returns to his own club.

By my reckoning we need a rightback, centreback x 2 and forward as priority for next season.

The following season gordon, comparr, sinky, hayes, bitton, malumba and millar are out of contract. So scope to get in a 1st choice gk (play bain now if had own way) and add another couple of first teamers lowering the teams overall age without breaking the bank.

A batant superman dive in the box is the new ‘closing down’ according to the BBC Scotland football correspondents!

Where are the which hunts? What happened to eradicating diving from our game?

Can you imagine the aftermath if Scott Brown had ‘won’ a penalty like that??

  21. A pragmatic viewpoint I hope.

Not wanting to be negative. Given the buzz from today’s scores across the board.

I feel however for every time we go away from home, and each time Brendan over cooks some tactical experiment. All we do is give the chasing pack some renewed hope.

We need to apply a structure that works. Forrest sees the big picture from the touch line. He moves inside and attacks the space really well. If you make his starting position central, then you lose that instinct. Rodgers needs to stop experimenting with Forrest in central position

  22. great 3 Pts.

but….. CG is a liability with the ball at his feet , far to slow and lazy, a bomb scare every time he tries to play football.

  23. Well an unexpected bonus today.

Thought Aberdeen’s tactics accompanied by the ref’s leniency were going to cost us points. Fortunately we are good enough to overcome both.

I may be in the minority with thinking that McGinn foul was worthy of only a yellow. He put the brakes on but skidded. Definitely no intention to go in with studs up.

Shinnie on the other hand was a terrible dive and a worse decision. Expect he will be banned so that he won’t be able to face our opposition. Thus handing them an advantage.

    Aaaah , boys.

    Just watched the game.

An inspired substitution bringing on Odsonne when he did.

Shades of the 3-2 game at Ibrox.

    Brendan rules. And how.

  25. Some rubbish being spoken about Broony on here.Calmac has a poor game in the position he has been terrific in countless times,Broonys fault.Crap,he,Rogic, and Christie were poor in varying degrees today.Broony was driving the team on from every position.Tackling, closing down, still competing at the final whistle.

No one else I would have in my team on Saturday.

  26. French Eddy…. he has 2 good games, then has 2 average games, then has a poor game…. then has an exceptional game.

    Ahh to be 20.

What I mean by that, is that people need to cut the lad some slack. Some forget his good moments very quickly. He is a potential great, and needs our patience and tolerance as fans, to let him grow and develop into a top player

I uplifted those stats from the BBC article you referred without giving it much thought. Having now given it some thought i am as bamboozled as you are.

  28. RUGGYMAN,

When today was Forrest played through the middle.?You watching the right game.He was stuck out on the wing today so much, that we never saw him forbthe first 20 minutes.

  29. Edouard has had 5 direct goal involvements in his last 50 minutes of football. 4 key assist involvements and 1 goal. The finish today was stunning and the set up for the 4th goal a devastating show of power that Dominic Ball will not forget in a hurry. I love the boy.
