  1. Neil and the lads now in the final drive for home after a very good performance. Easy to see by Jonny Hayes body language both on and off the pitch that he has finally settled into the Celtic way of life and what’s expected when you come into Celtic Park. He was excellent to-day. Glad to see Neil go with the Celtic regulars rather than the loanees for to-day’s match.

Sorry mate, The Lamp Post is sited on The Saltmarket just down from The Tolbooth Bar at Glasgow Cross…it’s been shut down for ages. The story is that someone has bought it and its to open up as a Gay Club ?

There also used to be another pub called The Lamp Post on George St/Duke St…which was a Midden.

Ive never been aware of any Pub of that name on the actual Gallowgate…maybe before my time ?

Superb, Celtic. Just superb. Even when it was 11 v 11 we had their number, and they knew it.

Delighted for Jonny Hayes in particular, but all our Bhoys turned up today.

Sad to hear McInnes dredge up the accidental clash of heads between Boyata and Mackay-Steven in a previous game by way of excusing the assault on Ryan Christie. But I guess that’s the measure of the man.

Hope Ryan is OK; that was a truly horrible challenge, chilling.

    And now – beers!

I think Lustig’s free kick effort would have went in was it not for Hayes getting in the way

I remember thinking does Lusitig REALLY think hes going to hit this?

Pity cos i would have loved to see him get one… even more delighted it was eventually put in my Celtic legend Tom Rogic

    B-)

Something tells me today will be one of our easier Hampden victories against the sheep. At least 3 goals for the hoops.

    Bump.

I think Jozo was under orders from Lenny to break through the sheep midfield with the ball . Big Kris likes to carry it to them but I’ve never seen Jozo play such an attack minded game . When Jozo broke forward Kris stayed back and vice versa. A really effective way to wriggle through the parked buses as it drags markers away from our midfield and forward players. I think this could give us some joy against the bus parkers we meet most weeks.

I do frequent THE OLD SHIPBANK on The Saltmarket, thats were Im heading right now. Plenty of Beers and Wummin.

The Owner Frankie and his Family are all Celtic Folk, and he is a good friend of mine.

Frankie knows that I spend far too much Money on Beer and the JukeBox in his Pub…mabe thats how he likes Me ? LOL

The Pub has been in Frankies family for around 50 Years or so. It used to be a Bank, then it became an Irish Pub.

    Its got great history.

  10. I am always amazed when those with far right, bigoted and racists views get so annoyed when they are called out, the kkk and oo etc… are cut from the same cloth as far as I can see.

So long as they are afforded a platform to promote their beliefs then others should be able to use any platform to counter that. If they dont like it, they can stop into the 21st centuary and join the rest of us.

  11. From BBC

Midfielder Ryan Christie has suffered a suspected broken cheekbone or eye socket after a aerial collision with Aberdeen’s Dominic Ball during Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final win.

Ball was shown a second yellow for the foul on Christie, who was treated on the pitch for several minutes towards the end of the first half. He was carried off with his neck in a brace.

“We saw him at half time and he was conscious. We think it’s either a broken eye socket or a broken cheekbone,” said manager Neil Lennon.

  12. Hazy day in Hampden.

Celtic were magnificent and never stopped attacking Aberdeen from the kick off, wouldn’t have dreamt of selecting Jonny Hayes, just shows what little we know. Once, we overcame Craig Thomson’s early game management, and with Hayes and Forrest switching wings for fun, it was game over all too soon for Aberdeen who came without anything to offer in the mis match.

James Forrest ( the first name on every team sheet? ) popped up in his usual position fresh from confusing the Dons, to score a sublime left footed shot into the Mount Florida staunchion, and set tone just before half time for the opening of the Celtic song book, and contiunous songs of praise on Sunday.

An Aberdeen bereft in all departments it was a procession towards Kings Park Ave, in the second half, the beautiful passing game, and the paedo howling Aberdeen army evaporated nearly as fast as the subway loyal. Scott Brown was immense but so were Celtic to a man, Simunovic and Ajer embarrassed Aberdeen elbows, and oversaw the demise of another Sunday club of not being able to lay a football glove on Glasgow Celtic.

    M.O.M Jonny Hayes

Song of the day ; magnificent rendition of ‘Grace’

  15. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Home, happy and in a cup final, no wonder they had a poor support, they

    are a dreadful fitba? team.

A big pat on the back for Johnny Hayes best game in a Celtic jersey.

MOTM….. the wee ball boy who entered the field of play, made me chuckle.

  16. Terrific result,great performance.

Well done JF for wonder goal, but my MOTM was Jonny Hayes.

Team look like they are over the impact of BR walking out, after getting all the one to one motivational chat which, as it turns out, meant nothing .

This should have a consolidating effect on our next games,I know it helped me.!!

  17. Just in bhoys and demolished the beautiful Sunday roast that Mrs David66 made, I knew she was a diamond.
