  1. The lack of formation and tactics makes it look like the

players aren’t trying. It’s no coincidece that the new players

are struggling, they don’t know what they are supposed

    to be doing.

  2. Whilst that performance was no where good enough it does represent an improvement on both the huns game and the Milan game.

Sidelining Duffy might be the best short term option at the moment. It might almost be like a new signing.

  3. It was a better performance from the team today. It was a tough game with Aberdeen up for it and the wind blowing like crazy. The scoreline really flatters Aberdeen, we should not have dropped points. We’re still only playing at about 60% of potential so there’s plenty of room for improvement, and it will get better.

Our defense is obviously bad but not sure what Neil can do about it. Duffy is a liability. Maybe Bitton will be fit again for midweek and if he is, let’s play him with Ajer. I don’t like where we are playing Frimpong. He seems to prefer coming forward from the right back slot, not starting at half way. Maybe he’ll get better as he learns the new role, but this season there’s not much time available. Thought everyone worked really hard today especially Moi and Ntcham. They both get criticized on here a lot but you can’t fault their effort. Good to see Griff making an impact off the bench. That was a great finish.

Reading back the comments here, it seems the respect once shown for the blog owner and our younger reading community has gone. The language is shocking. If it was my blog I would ban the culprits.

  4. 67 European Cup Winners on

My view on Friday night – after today it has only strengthened

There are a few on here asking “How did we let them get past us” ?? “How did it come to this” ?? “What happened to us on saturday”??

I’ve got half an hour, I’ve just opened a bottle of Rioja so happy to give my opinion

My view and it is only my view

I accept that Paul67 can from time to time voice a message from PL

I accept it because I think Paul67 will get info in return

CQN is by a million miles the best Celtic blog in town

And Paul67 is a credit to us all

But that does not mean he is always right

For years Paul67 has been telling us we will dominate for another 10 years

They will be lucky to survive and a lot more messages basically suggesting we are a long term dominant force

Enjoy these years and a lot more came the message

IMHO I believe this opinion was sold to Paul67 by PL

PL believed (and probably still believes) the greater the Balance sheet the better the team

In theory he is right assuming the rich team have the better players and coaches

I believe that PL has grossly undervalued the Hun resurgence (OK perhaps too big an adjective but you get my point)

I also believe if we do not win the league this year PL will sit at the same table as the CEO of Nokia (we did nothing wrong) Google it – it’s a shocking story of how Nokia ignored and underestimated Apple

PL did not feel the need to ask for applications for the Celtic managers job

He popped into the showers and gave it to the easiest option

PL made little effort to work with B Rogers because BR had ambition beyond PL’s imagination

PL did not think £2.5 million was good value for J McGinn

AND Paul67 upheld PL’s actions by backing up all those situations on here

PL has got us into a pickle (I’m not anti PL, he has us in a great place if you are our Bank) we are cash rich due to PL But his ability to manage people, risk and change have restricted Celtic

Yes we are rich but what use money if you do not know how to invest it

An inferior team have risen to hit us really hard and we need to recover quickly

Today before we go to Aberdeen on Sunday we are 4 points behind with a game in hand

We still have to play them 3 times

So our predicament is not catastrophic and we have the players and the money to fix the problem

Don’t panic all will be OK – say a few on here

But this future assumption does not feel achievable based on our season so far – well not to me

So I am of the opinion something needs to change

If Eddie Howe wanted to and could start on Monday I would make the change – but reality is not that simple

Chris Houghton same theory even Steve Clarke and there are probably a few more that you could think of

Assuming time and availability is against us I would promote Scott Brown to Assistant Player/Manager working under NL

If only to stir the pot do something to spark us into a fight that if we are to win we need to get into it right now – not when we are 4 points 6 points 9 points behind

I do not have a crystal ball nor am I a football coach so if you are reading this you are more than entitled to claim I’m talking rubbish and continue to tell yourself all will be OK

Winning the league every year is no one’s God given right

And sport is not sport without competition

But not winning the league this year to create a real bit of history with Ten in a Row would be a travesty

What is done is done – The Hun is galvanised and we know we are in a dog fight

    But does PL ??

Since we got beat by them on Saturday, Paul67 has has raised a few topics but none of them have questioned our current predicament or considered that we are in a bit of bother – don’t write off our manager was the most passionate Keep calm and carry on indeed All will be OK I assume this is the PL message

But is it the opinion of Paul67 ??, our players, our supporters ?? Its not my view

Thumping Aberdeen on Sunday with a resurgent performance will render my post obsolete

    But for how long ?

Alternatively anything else other than 3 points on Sunday will set CQN alight

Come May I am hopeful my concern about the 10 has gone – much like the bottle of Rioja – and we become the first team in Scotland to not only win 9 in a Row but also 10 in a Row

Fingers crossed or should we do something !!!!

Hail Hail to one and all

    67ECW

  5. Bada –

Agreed, someone made the point earlier – what is he?

Again he probably doesn’t know, another victim of

    the chaos.

  6. Well in defence of Neil Lennon we all shouted out for him to change the system to which he did ,but a couple off players let us down none other than Duffy,Lennon should just cut his losses and send him back to Brighton,I’ve mentioned a few times why did Celtic let Big Jozo go for all his faults he is a million times better than Duffy ,also if Neil Lennon is still with us he needs to give players like Turnbull and Soro a start here is a question if Lennon gets the bullet or he resigns, who does Celtic Bring in,Look at the way the Leeds manager has them set up,that’s the type of coaches we are badly needing.

  7. bluegrass celt on

It sickens me to watch my team regress like this. Lenny should walk, but unfortunately Big Pedro’s plan B at this moment in time will be JK and Broony till the end of the season if he does. So it looks like we are stuck with Lenny

  8. Better performance.

Its an indication of how our expectations have reduced, that we may feel oddly positive after that.

We are taking very good players and making them mediocre.

Our management team continues to appear fragmented and disjointed.

If we have a defensive coach, he needs to be shown the door today.

I cannot see ‘do nothing and hope for the best’ as being good enough to win the league this season.

We have a lot to consider

  9. Frimpong is not and never will be a right back – he is a wingback

of course he isn’t, and add laxalt as he is not a left back but a wingback , so defensively we are a shambles, would have been better with ether welsh or ralston at right back.

  10. If we had have seen the game out, there would be legitimate claims of a gutsy performance, turning things around when the chips were down

A game of very thin margins,…….. such is life.

Also.. i onder how our Greek goalie would have been targeted if he did the same as Baon at second dons goal

  11. Through the rain on

    Oh and another thing…

Forrest, Julie, Edourd and Johnston all out

El Hammed, Bitton and Christie covid absentees

Griffiths, Ajeti getting up to speed

Duffy, Laxalt, only in the door 5mins and really short of game time.

    HH

  12. In the unlikely event that the huns drop points today, and in the even more unlikely event that they start having to self isolate players, then today’s result might not appear to be as catastrophic as it does at the moment.

    Dum spiro spero.

  13. CADDINGTONCOMMON on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 2:14 PM

I’m not a Lennon out, guy, yet but you can’t say leave the manager out of it. That doesn’t make sense, to me.

It’s his team, his formation, his instructions or lack of them, how to play out the remaining minutes.

We win, draw and lose as a team, the manager is as responsible as anyone else, when we win and when we don’t.

  14. The obvious, sleekit huns will doubtless recede a tad once thur “game” kicks oaf…………..

  15. We cannot keep doing what we are doing, if nothing changes the league is gone, a once in 60 years oportunity to do 10 wasted, another thing that seriously worries me is that standards have dropped that we are now on a level with also rans and been passed by a new club, how did this happen, and how is this rectified, it cannot continue as it is at present. Complete honesty from all concerned is required and if you are the problem you cannot be the solution.

  16. Willie Collum being made the scapegoat on here ,up to our equaliser Big Duffy blatantly fouled the Aberdeen player, with Collum looking right at it ,my concern about Collum he is to whistle happy.

  17. Didn`t see the game so I don`t know what the performance was like. I do know, though, that the `performance` on some on here has been very poor.

I have always assumed that the CQN demographic was largely made up of mature posters.Unfortunately, many posts today are more reflective of a spoiled, juvenile clientelle.

Like everyone else, I am desperately disappointed not to have won but it is a bit early to be throwing in the towel.

Can Livi get a point today? Who knows.

    Cheerio for now.

  18. Through the rain on

    And yet another thing…

    Bonuses…

    Tom Rogic, Christie, Griff!

    And solid Laxalt has talent

    HH

  19. No Bobby Does It Petta on

Carried a few empty jerseys today.

Duffy signing proving to be disastrous.

Worrying lack of team spirit, evinced again in players not celebrating goals.

Actually feel sorry for NFL. A few imposters in that team.

  20. Neil Lennon: “I’m disappointed we haven’t won it. We showed the character to come back twice and we then lose that late goal. Defensively, we were poor but attacking it was good, particularly in the second half. It’s too sloppy defensively though.”

    On referee Willie Collum…

“I thought the referee had a very poor game today, decision making, being influenced by his assistants and some of his decisions were baffling.”

“There’s a little bit of fragility there at the minute and when you score three goals away from home you should win the game. It will be something that will come with time, we’ve still got a number of players to come back and they will make us a lot stronger as a squad.”

  21. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Crumbs of comfort?

From a truly awful performance last week to a slightly better one midweek and further improvement (less worse) today.

    But still well short.

And the rate of improvement is too slow (bearing in mind the quality of team we’ll play over the next 1½ months).

    Celtic simply cannot defend.

Defending is not easy but it is simple.

A rectangle of 192 square feet in the entire planet that the ball cannot be permitted to cross.

Eight goals conceded in three games and all genuinely preventable.

Not one of them a thing beauty in the “no team would have kept that out” category.

It’s not just the goals or JUST the personnel.

There is blind panic and poor situation awareness every time the ball comes in to our box.

It afflicts everyone including Calum McGregor.

That is symptomatic of a lack of structure and a lack of coaching.

    Shane Duffy?

Rapidly becoming our Jonas Thern …. a decent pro pitching up for a 10IAR party that he believed was already in the bag.

At least Jonas had the good taste to make a negligible contribution – mostly sitting around injured while picking his gargantuan earnings.

SD, on the other hand, is helping the opposition.

Neil – Bin training Monday and Tuesday.

Unless there is something new to train.

Clear the air fully. Then go again from scratch.

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

  22. Through the rain on

    No Bobby….

They weren’t celebrating because they were racing back to the centre to try and win the game.

    HH

  23. They WILL drop points elsewhere

dearie dearie , they probably will but we will drop more if we don’t get rid of DUFF y .

  24. Wright should have been taken out,30 yards from goal, shocking game management from 3-2,they put 2 forwards on,everything down Frimpong’s side, put Welsh on at RB,or move Ajer out,and retreat 10 yards, keep the game in front of you, nothing in behind….amateur stuff again.

  25. The hand of God on

Watching Celtic this season has been difficult to say the least.Yes we have been spoiled in recent times 11 trophies on the trot is incredible but in the last week our deficiencies have come home to roost.I watched the last 5 minutes from behind the sofa you just knew what was coming but when it did arrive it was a hammer blow.We are missing a lot of players at the moment but that’s why we have a big squad the players that are missing haven’t reached anywhere near their usual levels this season. We have no system no way of playing we seem to make it up as we go along.By the end of the afternoon we will be 6 points behind with a game in hand…its not over yet but unless something drastically changes it looks like we can kiss goodbye to the 10.Something has to change…quickly.
