    A worry for me today when David Turnball came on he received instruction from Calum McGregor, no one had given DT instructions from the bench before he came on. It’s as if they are doing their own thing. Might be just me but thought it strange seeing that today

    But and always the but, I have been saying for years now that our board are firmly entrenched on the OF wagon, if we keep winning there is no competition and we all die, this way they get what they want and like Lemmings we will give it to them, tis the way of the world.

    Celtic’s finances are screwed after Covid, if you throw in losing league, no euro run, big drop in season tickets I can’t see how that’s part of some masterplan by the board.

     

     

    Lawwell will also be gone if we lose the 10.

     

     

    Doesn’t make sense to me, but we’ll find out over the next 12 months.

    4 at the back, with no scott brown and Calmac and ntcham as a two shown up in all its folly today. At Pittodrie against an Aberdeen team in decent form it didn’t make sense at all.

     

     

    A game where we didn’t look in any trouble at the back was completely changed when ntcham found himself in an unfamiliar defensive position and gave away a completely needless penalty through a lack of defensive nous. In the second half Macgregor gave away too many needless free kicks in dangerous positions, culminating in the penalty. No one should have been surprised or annoyed – it’s what midfielders who arent good defenders do.

     

     

    The second half showed what might have happened in the first had Aberdeen bee more ambitious. I’m sure McInnes must have been surprised at how shambolic we were.

     

     

    With 2 in form, decent central defenders you always need someone like brown in front. With Duffy and one other it’s absolutely essential

     

     

    That formation doesn’t work for Celtic except for in Europe against better teams. It shouldn’t be a simple choice between 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1, we have enough quality in our squad to play a number of different formations. Coaching time is limited when playing two games a week but that doesnt mean you revert to a failed system to make a change because it’s familiar.

     

     

    4-2-3-1 won’t win us the league. Revert back to 3-5-2 or change to something else.

    Pedro will walk into a top job in EUFA or similar, he will also walk with a massive severance package, it will probably be better for him financially wise, I don’t believe that they are trowing the league, but they do understand what competition is all about, they didn’t get where they are today because they are fools.

    im not having it that PL or DD are deliberately allowing the huns to win the league to keep OF-ism alive

     

     

    though i do believe they think (know?) its good for business if the huns are there to provide competition

     

     

    but i think plenty of money has been given and spent on players for this season

    Well, Newco are here, they’re giving us a challenge, beating us fairly regularly and in Slippy has a manger that has brought them some exposure outside Scotland.

     

     

    If the board really wanted the “OF” rivalry, they’ve got one.

     

     

    However, with Newco a good bet to negotiate those fewer CL qualifiers, throwing away a healthy advantage off the field makes no sense.

    United and Chelsea came into the game yesterday short on confidence in their defences.

     

     

    They played out the most boring 0-0 between two top six sides you’ll ever see. Lampard and OGS both talked about building confidence after

     

     

    Our formation and team had 3-3 written all over it. It exposed a player who, I’m hoping, is very short on confidence (and not ability)

    When big Tony take it on the chin was manager, I recall us using four different formations against Dunfermline in the cup. Went 2;3;5 once we were 2:1 down.

    Gerrard is the first manager in Sevco Celtic history to still be in a job after 2 and a half years and no silverware. Neil has won all he’s played for and got us out of a hole. So the media have this attack on our manager and we feed it

    Dreadful lack of confidence in the team…and I didn’t think Aberdeen played particularly well. Just an average team trying very hard against supposedly superior players. And with the hun refusing to concede goals whilst rotating the players, I think Neil is going to have a difficult task to overturn it this season…we live in hope but…

    One day these rumours will be true ,and I suspect the one today is about a bust up between 2 Players and the manager ,could be something in it ,as Lennon says any team that scores 3goals away from home should win the game,as we’re playing on Thursday night no I’ll forget what I was going to type.

    Still, it’s only 3 points, and they’re favorites to win the league now. We will get a doing on Thursday, they’ll win and they’ll be even shorter odds but they’ll still only be 3 points ahead.

     

     

    Thinking it’s yours to lose brings a different sort of pressure. They can’t go through a whole season playing in as many competitions as we both are without having a dip at some point

     

     

    Hang in there and I still think we’ll win it

    I for one do not want a manager of Celtic football club to be sitting talking to himself on a bench in a dugout. It does not look good.

     

     

    Where was Lennys coaching team, do they not talk to each other regarding substitutes/formations?

     

     

    Or was Lenny asking himself these questions.

     

     

    I honestly cannot remember ever seeing a manager sitting talking to himself, yes he might sit and curse but not talk to himself.

     

     

    Yes we all talk to ourselves but not sitting on a bus or in front of a camera with thousands watching.
