  1. I used the Vip League for the link, usually starts shortly after kick off but rarely buffers and the added bonus last night? No commentary!

As I said last night while we had plenty of possession most of it was across the field or backwards. Our shooting is also abysmal, someone else posted the shots/shots on target and goals scored, they are terrible and I can’t even blame Christie as I don’t think he had any, that man in rowing boat behind the Beach End stand was wasted!

  2. spikeysauldman on

Christie had a decent header and a shot on goal blocked/deflected by motm Johnny Hayes.

Next season the Sheep will have 2 and maybe 3 players who should still be with the Tic.

A reasonable analysis. Your critics will have to work hard to find the bits that show you are really a Hun :-)))

  4. Re Ajeti fitness.

Jesse lingard hadn’t played any football in the first half of the season for Man utd.

Went to West Ham and has scored 9 goals in 10 games.

Obviously kept himself fit. Unlike like Ajeti and Griffiths

    Decent post.

But as well as the players and manager.

I would add the board who should have changed management team last September

  6. I’m sure I read that the Aberdeen players commented on the increase intensity of training since their new manager took over.

Something that I suspect is needed at Lennoxtown.

Ajeti not match fit after 10 minutes on Sunday – dear God

  7. MAJESTIC HARTSON – I think as a long term option, a British League is a no-brainer. Short to medium term we would need to accept that we would be a long way behind the top clubs. But, given time, we would have the money to compete with most clubs down there.

We would no longer have to sell our best players as we would be able to pay the same wages as in the EPL.

  8. have we not swapped LG with Kevin Nesbit from hibs yet or is that another striker we will miss out on.

    For what it’s worth……

I bought a ticket for Redtv last night. Quality was better than my Celtic tv pass. No having to reboot and a commentator and analyst whose basic competence showed up our powder puff equivalent.

    ———

Jamesgang – Same here I purchased Redtv and thought the quality was great compared to my pass for paradise. The show started at 6.30pm with old Aberdeen videos but there was an away video to watch as well.

    Never stuttered or rebooted once.

Cheers – I do think that there have been mistakes & misjudgment at CEO & Board level over the last ten years, however looking at this season on its own, I simply don’t see what more could have been done to back the manager and players. They were simply not good enough and no one seen it coming – we failed early & badly in every competition we entered.

The showing last night was predictably mediocre and typified our season.

  11. My grandson’s favourite song is “the wheels on the bus” – problem is instead of the words ‘go round and round’ I can’t get ‘came off came off’ out of my mind. 😨

  12. The genie is out the bottle. The EPL top 6 will still want to optimise revenue and increase worldwide tv audiences.

Celtic and ” Rangers” would help fulfil that aspiration while staying in a UK context.

    Market forces will dictate this.

British league is a non-starter as it has no additional financial benefit to the EPL.

    ————–

You make a valid point – although adding the big two from Scotland to replace the likes of Watford, Sheffield Utd, Fulham, West Brom, Norwich…..etc, would boost overall attendance figures and create wider interest – Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Spurs V Celtic, is much more appetising than the above five…..so who knows there may be an opportunity to grow TV sales in the US, Canada & Ireland.

  14. Our share price is at a 12 month high on the back of the BSL reports. It won’t happen but it’s clear to see that a BSL is the only thing that keeps Desmond at Celtic.

    I agree.

You beat me to the punch & stole my thunder!

  16. I’m not sure if there’ll be a British League but I can see regional restructuring getting closer. The Dutch have already shot down the idea of joining with Belgium but some see this as inevitable, as could a Nordic League or a Central European League (Czech, Switzerland, Austria etc).

But whatever happens, there has to still be promotion and relegation in and out. DD can think what he likes about a so-called Old Firm package but without the likes of Aberdeen at least having the opportunity to gain promotion, aren’t we simply doing a scaled-down version of what we criticized the “super 12” of doing?

  17. Go tell the Spartim on

Why are our players unfit? We’ve witnessed them blowing out their respective a**** all season yet it’s not been addressed similarly like our defending of set pieces, no improvement since day one of the season, this lies solely on the football department, of course their appointments are the work of those elsewhere in the club.

I’m no fan of PL not like the PL calendar owners on here, he did give the manager funds, the fact we spent them poorly is on the football department, these things can happen at any time, we seem to have a knack of buying cheap and having to buy twice (sometimes more). The PLC’s major crime is hiring Lennon in the first place but more importantly keeping him in situ when it could’ve made a difference by replacing him and not with John Kennedy.

We’re still in the dark with what happens next, which even the PL fan bhoys must admit is poor customer relations, I find it contemptible, personally.

I don’t think it’s the only thing – there is an emotional attachment there at some level.

I do agree that he believes that a British League is inevitable & desirable, I hope he’s right.

Perhaps over time the likes of Aberdeen. an Edinburgh club and maybe an Irish super club could force their way up the pyramid.

We are a small group of islands – football is the national game – it makes sense, but will it make financial sense?….time will tell!
