God rest you Tony, sympathy and prayers to Shirley and the family.🙏

Aberdeen are as poor this season, football playing wiise, as they have been in last few seasons. However, this season they are better organised hence the lofty league position, allied with a poor start from Sevco and Diet Huns

Nothing makes tonight feel good after the earlier news ……
We won and continue onward toward what could be a really good season ….. maybe even a great one ….. it could even be really special.
It just doesn’t feel like it today.
I pulled out a Celtic top tonight which was signed by 16 CQNrs under their monikers back in 2009. A group I was lucky enough to host in my companies box on a day we played Dundee Utd. Sadly 25% of the group are no longer with us. All great people. SFTB was one of them. What a privilege to spend a few hours speaking with him and Whitedoghunch amongst others. Without doubt SFTB was the smartest and most educated, respected and respectful posters of all time. He will be hugely missed. The usual platitudes don’t seem to work.

Not unhappy that the other lot are starting to believe again. Even better they dare to hope.

I logged in to congratulate the team on a marvellous 3 points .
Only to read the dreadful news that SFTB ( Tony Gillespie) has died .
I met up with Tony a few times ,several years ago .
He was possibly the brightest man that I have ever met .
He was certainly the most balanced .
Truly saddened to read of his passing .
When funeral arrangements are known ,and if welcomed by his family .
Would someone please post them on here .
Rest in peace Tony .

God bless you Tony. A true CQN original and a wonderfully compassionate and intelligent man. From way back in the Babbity days right up to the present I was privileged to know him and share Celtic and human views with him. Tonight we won a game but lost a true friend.

Thats the first of three that could make this a fantastic season.
Next up is Zagreb, then the Huns. Two wins there and we have two of the Treble in the bag.More importantly,a win in Zagreb sets us up brilliantly to finish on a minimum of 14 points, going into the Villa game.
Its there for us.

Dreadful news about Tony. We were classmates at St Dominic’s school in Castlemilk 62-67 and met up again through CQN. A true intellect with a great knowledge of Celtic, and the nicest guy you could meet. We have lost possibly this blog’s finest writer.
A sad day.
Rest in peace Tony.

Just reading the sad news about SFTB. I never knew the man except for enjoying his posts on this site. It says something about him that many people can feel sad about losing someone that they have never met, but had a common bond through Celtic and CQN. For those of you that knew him well I am truly sorry that you have lost a good friend. Prayers to his family and all of you. He is joining many a good Tim up above and will be in good company.
God Bless to all on here.

Still coming to terms with the shocking news of Tonys passing
Whether it was online, playing 5s or out socially Tony was always
enjoyable company, a knowledgable Celtic fan as he demonstrated many times on CQN
He loved to compete, he told me that it wasn’t until I was hitting 60 that we were on a par as players at 5s, we laughed at that, even sharing a hospital visit to An Tearman was an enjoyable couple of hours, I hate hospitals, luckily An Tearman and Tony were great company
My thoughts are with Tonys family, he was good family man, hopefully the many fine tributes brings some comfort

Terrible news about SFTB.
I didn’t know him personally but I feel a genuine sense of loss and sadness.
He was one of the finest posters to grace these pages – sharp, incisive and , rightly , not afraid to disagree with anyone but never gratuitous in his criticism. His posts were a must read.
A huge loss to the blog and , no doubt, immeasurably more so to those who knew him personally.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Totally agree with your comments on Aberdeen and the lack of second bookings.
As well as that Vale Bhoy, what about Duk? In the league game at Celtic Park he was a basketball player; two handballs at either end, the latter unpunished as he used his arm to keep out the winner and last night Olympic diver, an all round sportsman you could say, as you say the first one when he dived into Valle and he was booked. But the other two? One in the box the other further out. He was told twice to get up, why no booking for him on the second? Is Aiden McGeady the only player to be booked in Scottish football for diving outside the penalty box? It looks like it. Don Robertson at best a very poor referee, at worst, well you know the rest.

Totally agree, McPhail Bhoy.
At the 2-2 game, the only difference I noticed about this Aberdeen team, to previous years, was that the new manager had introduced a higher level of thuggery.
I think we saw some of that last night.
How their numbers 3, 6 and 33 (along with those you rightly identified) stay on the pitch is a complete mystery.
I read all his posts and only met him fleetingly at CQN corner a few times but I immediately just liked him.
Thoughts very much with his family whose loss is so much more than ours but he will never be forgotten on this site.
