    The James Forrest story,

Won the points at Pitoddrie won the penalty last Sunday, pinpoint weighted crosses other wingers just don’t have. MON fielded Yang for his 100th (yes 100th) Celtic appearance, much of his best work is in tracking back, but it’s still Jamesie for impact.

It was Cvancara’s turn from bench , the thin man was nearly as invisible as Adamu, tried at IBrokes, where invisible, applied to all, in the first half. It was back to Daizen Maeda the former goal machine that’s irked more than Chris Sutton all season. Hatate blew hot and cold, and a goal threat returned only with Benny right place, right time Nygren.

Araujo the living proof Wilfried Nancy was good for something, after all and provides great support on the right. Kieran Tierney now weighing in with goals to fill the void, but as per It was a tough watch after the Liam Scales ‘made contact’ in the penalty box.

Sinasalo had another confident match and Ben Arthur looks like a movie star ( but can he play ? ). We don’t know and was omitted, but for injured in warm up Dane Murray. The Cup distraction will no doubt see another changed line up, Araujo, Trusty, Scales, Tierney/Saracchi.

James Forrest soon be three years since his testimonial still providing the ‘good value’ impact, where will the goals come from next time as the drought season that’s plagued us continues.

    MOM Tierney

Somehow the season remains on life support. Yet again we stumble over the line against a team we should comfortably defeat.

It seems to me that we were are unlikely to get to a situation where things click into place and we play well at last. This is a fall over the line job.

Sinisalo- 7. What. A. Save. Distribution mince though.

    Araujo- 6. Workmanlike.

Arthur- 8. Welcome to Celtic, big mhan. Rusty, but assured and commanding for a difficult debut.

Scales- 6. Scales doing Scales things. Mixed bag.

KT- 8. Excellent hour. Lheader in a squad lacking them

    LMCC- 3. Disappointing.

RH- 6. Not to the heights of Sunday.

    CMG- 5. Meh.

Tounetki- 1. Normally you get 2 for appearing. Weak as pish

Yang- 2. Ran around a lot. Sadly without the ball.

Cvancara- 5. I actually don’t think he was as bad as some say. There’s a bit of a pile on. He is getting no service especially across the face of goal. Not a single ball of note from either Tounetki or Yang.

    JF- 4

DM- 3. Ffs Daizen. More composure in a toddlers’ play pit

BN- Get in, ya ghost! Drives me mental but no denying the goals

    MS- 5.

    CD- 4.

  3. AJ at his best is an excellent RB. Maybe it’s because it has been a long time since I’ve seen him play, but at the moment I think Araujo is at least his equal if not an upgrade. Shame we are not likely to have him next season as I fear AJ may now be injury prone and will need careful managing.

On the same theme, I will be pleasantly surprised if the likes of AJ, CCV and Jota can return to top form without being subject to further lengthy lay offs. We have already seen it this season with Iheanacho and AJ. Nursed back to fitness then straight back to the treatment room.

Fingers crossed last night’s two injuries are minor.

  4. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Good morning CQN

Another fine day to be a Celt

Took a while, but we’ve moved into second.

Lots happening and lots to ponder under that headline outcome.

But I’ll take it for now.

Interesting mood on here post match.

We are continuing to win ugly.

And the ugly seems to be informing the mood more than the winning …

    … which I can understand.

Respectfully though, this isn’t a beauty contest

    We’re hanging in there.

So, well done Martin, coaches, and players.

All last day wins with mediocre teams, against the odds but with total focus in battling through more than one rival to win the league.

The first league championship that really meant something for me, when i was 10.

I think you are being harsh on this team. Ive just googled and the team that beat st Mirren had

McGrain, Aitken, Macleod, McStay, Burns, McClair and Johnson.

On the bench was Grant and McGhee (i was surprised at that

All of those players would walk into the team now – and surely a good few would be fighting for a place in any squad we’ve had since.

    BRRB,

I know but my mum has banned me from watching the TV.

    Dexter,

Cvancara- 5. I actually don’t think he was as bad as some say. There’s a bit of a pile on. He is getting no service especially across the face of goal. Not a single ball of note from either Tounetki or Yang.

Caught the second half and then watched the highlights on Sportscene.

I thought the same, there wasn’t one ball in to him that I thought was a clear opportunity missed.

There was also a couple of times he held back for a cut back and was in a good position but didn’t receive it.

A problem with chopping and changing is that players won’t know where he will be automatically. Hopefully the free time we have midweek from now will give is some time to train this.
