You just know that penalty would have been awarded at the other end. We really are hard to watch at times.

Martin will have to work his HT magic again . After a good start we’ve become a bit too predictable . When we raise the pace we look dangerous but it’s only happening in brief bursts

Aye, makes you wonder when it’s time to stand up and you can’t clear the first man with your corners.
The midfield seems outnumbered/missing again.
Hopefully better in the second half.

The pen against was simple- scales kicked him on the back of the leg

Defender has arm out to stop a cross VAR checks for 2 seconds, no penalty.
Did Scales not have a penalty awarded against him at Celtic Park for the same thing with Walsh as ref?
No penalty for an Aberdeen defender, facing the player attempting a cross, blocking the cross with his arm. But this was deemed a deliberate handball and given as a penalty:
Keepers distribution has been awfull. Wrong option almost every time

Agreed. Need to up the tempo for full second half. Sinisalo also giving Aberdeen to much time to set

Re Scales penalty, I’m not convinced
Looking at his foot, toe stays pointing downwards. He pulled out and didnt extend foot, making a contact by kicking
Anyway, it was awarded. It was soft

Zero threat from the centre forward and Yang is infuriating this is a big struggle because scales was not aware the player was going to get something in front of him but we are unconvincing again and taking risks in the wrong areas

When we drop out it reminds me of a snooker player getting out of position on the white during a break – we start with slack passes, mishits and eventually go backwards – when we click it looks great but it is episodic

Yang and Tounetki aren’t starters. They’re impact subs.

In the past we have been so far ahead to make cheating officials irrelevant. When we are not winning games comfortably that is when officials decide the outcome of our games, and of our season.
I know I sound like a broken record but the MIBs are stealing our title and our board and our managers have sat back in almost complete silence all season and watched it happen.

Yang in particular off it, can’t control the ball and just passes back. Tounekti as frustrating as always when he starts. Midfield missing. Yet another excruciating watch. Has there been a single enjoyable watch this season, I don’t remember it.
the long wait is over on
We don’t deserve anything other than to be ahead here , by any measure.
Soft penalty against us instantly given , soft penalty for us instantly denied.
Neither was a penalty really.
We were so much better than them until their penalty/ goal.
Need to make a decent start to the 2nd half and hopefully nick a couple to put this to bed.

In the corresponding fixture 3-years ago Celtic played Aberdeen at home on Feb 18.
This was the starting XI: Hart, Taylor, CCV, Starfelt, Johnston, McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley, Maeda, Jota, Oh
We were 2 up after 13-minutes, and won the game 4-0.
The following subs were used: Iwata, Haksabanavic, Abada, Forrest, Kyogo
These were the unused subs: Bain, Kobayashi, Bernabei, Ralston
Oh how times have changed!
Hatate, Maeda and McGregor were all better players back then, so not even the current version of themselves would get into that team.

I have real sympathy for our defenders. They do look nervous but contact will result in pens against us and we have to have hands firmly behind the back to block shots because we know what will happen if the ball touches our arms.

lets all do the huddle on
if you ever watch Ref Watch on Sky Sports on a Monday morning.
dermot gallagher has peddled a narrative the last few years when he has been asked to judge penalty claims in the spfl…
he always says that they are 100% consistent in that the refs up here always give them.
a proper myth.
if it were true then we could probably accept it in a way.
but it is a myth all the same.
he again repeated it for our penalty on sunday.
i wonder what he would say about that decision there?
i think he would drop his ‘consistency’ narrative

Sinisalo gets his chance to take over from Kasper, as soon as i seen him passing to scales i could see he isnt comfortable with him, also his distrubution has at times been awful,as for Aberdeens penalty bad defending by our defence, cant blame the referees for our mistakes,,so hopefully we can win the game in the second half.

I’d put the Ox on along with Nygren, Forrest, and Maeda.
To be honest though, we haven’t been good. We are slow and ponderous in possession, giving Aberdeen as much time as they like to get into their 9 men behind the ball defensive shape. Then we’ve no movement off the ball around and in their penalty box to create space or chances and just end up predictably passing in backwards and then sideways, eventually putting in poor crosses that the defenders are always going to win. And in our own defensive area we are constantly faffing about trying to play short passes in pretty patterns (which is what we should be doing in the opposite box!), putting our own players under undue pressure and failing to simply get the ball clear to safety… which is how the penalty came about.
Our players should sit and watch the whole of last night’s Barcelona v Atletico match. That is how it SHOULD be done… I was exhausted just watching the speed and accuracy of Barcelona’s attacking football. And, as soon as they lost possession they pressured the Atleti players into losing possession and off went Barca again.
I know we’re not Barca, but we’re playing Aberdeen, a team who have won just ONE point in their last five games… against far inferior opposition to anything in La Liga!

There is a criteria for penalty awards that’s sufficient contact.
Not ANY contact, sufficient contact.
Aberdeen forward makes the most of minimum contact buys a Penalty
Need to step up a gear in the second half….
Making Aberdeen look half decent
Every game is a struggle for this team, no matter how weak the opposition. Well done Dermot and Michael.
Keepers distribution has been awfull. Wrong option almost every time.
Slow , ponderous playing across back 3 allowing Aberdeen to get into a shape to defend.
We need to be much quicker and fine any player that passes it back the way
