  1. Just to clear a NON ISSUE, the Griff was pissed off, cos the ball didn’t go out o play for him to get on a wee bit sooner, BUT

He was celebrating, dancing and singing with the Bhoys on the pitch, he only went down the tunnel to get his weans and father and children were soon dancing about the Hampden turf after Celts got the cup.

    HH the mighty Celtic !

    Strool in the park.

I didn’t think we got out of second gear.

    Easy peasy.

Felt a bit sorry for Leigh. He looked gutted.

    Well done Brendan’s bhoys.

  3. Hi Bhoys

Highlight of the match was the look on his face when the ball finally went out of play to let him come on.

  5. Celtic were in a different class from Aberdeen right from the k.o. and James Forrest had two colleagues in Tom Rogic and Scott Brown who ran him very close for M.O.M.

Wee Jamesie finally came good on the Hampden pitch, and it was surely no coincidence that although he lined up wide left, he scored and made the penalty from his inside right wandering commission?

It really was a stroll in the park and we outplayed them in every position, scoring three goals, all of them by players who are of a higher quality than any other team in Scotland.

But it was at the back and Celtic’s settled five helped set us up and Jozo Simunovic deserves further praise as his block pass set up a goal. Izzy had another immaculate game, snubbing out Aberdeen’s wide threat.

This potentially looks like the best Celtic side since the days of MON we defend so much better than Ronny Deila’s teams, and January’s window must be used to help set Brendan up for Europe part two.

Beaton is a cheat . GTF wi the compliments

Simunovic, Rogic, Roberts and Bitton give the ball away to cheaply

Roberts at 40k a week ??? Not for me.

Six months to the treble unless the SFA diddle us out of it. Which I fully expect.

  7. We done bhoys. We won that with relative ease, never appeared to break sweat. 1st of many trophies under Brendan’s leadership.

    Celtic – League Cup winners – Played – 4; Won – 4; For – 11: Against – 0;

    Aberdeen 3-0, Huns 1-0, Alloa 2-0, Motherwell 5-0

*but but but defense is our weak link don’t you know © KevJ’s uncle Ned.

  10. Just back from the game and watching the presentation.

Aberdeen were not terrible and Celtic were not great but that was still one of the more comfortable and controlled Cup finals we have experienced.

It was a game where we kept the ball and they conspired to let us use it. Individual Dons tried hard, Gordon had a good early save and they had 10 minutes of attack, rather than pressure, at the start of the 2nd half, but there was a paucity of ambition from them.

Our Centre Backs were imperious and Broony was immense. I have been James Forrest’s biggest defender on here but I thought those three outshone another very good performance from wee James. Long may he remain fit!.

I also loved the much criticized Izzy who showed the gap between serious pros and us amateurs when he killed two balls dropping out of the Hampden Sky in a way that all Dons’ defenders struggled to do.

I listened to Shortbread on the way back to the car parked at the New Orleans in Rutherglen, and I have to agree with Tom English. The support today were happy and vocal, not just because we won a final, but because they can see improvement in our European performances too.

We have had too many false dawns with predictions of making a Euro final with a slice of luck. Brendan is giving us a more realistic timetable of gradual improvement in competitiveness. Step-by-step progress rather than a straight unrealistic jump to Euro elite level on our budget.

Today we won our 100th major trophy. We won with a squad where 13 of the 14 players were available to Ronny Deila. And there is a lesson on unity there for the players- do not form fractious divides at the club & place the team above the individual.

It is a shame that good servants like Commons, Mulgrew and Stokes did not get the chance to experience this as a contrast to where we were at 18-24 months ago.

We will lose a domestic game soon and Brendan will get criticism too- some of it may even be justified- but today is a time for celebration. The Bhoys done good

  11. Goooooooooood evening friends. 100 not out. Was worried when I heard pre-match about the TIFO as never like to be so presumptious. But we were NEVER in danger today and it’s beginning to look as if there is not anotehr tam in Scotland who can even score a goal against us. Loved every minute of today.

  12. Hi there,
