    It was a classy victory, with terrific performances all over the park.

     

     

    But……………it only brought us one game closer to our next domestic defeat and criticism of Brendan, alas.(Copywright SFTB)

    A quality performance by all concerned but Brown was immense and as for James Forrest. The boy was skilful, brave in the tackle and scored a great goal. His best ever game in the hoops.

    The foul count is a recurring anomaly in our games. So frequent that it is no longer an anomaly. So, aside from the “Hun wae a whistle” theory, is there any reasonable explanation.

     

     

    Well yes there is. And it was evident today.

     

     

    We press the ball quickly, we give away a lot of cheap fouls high up the park. It’s the starting point of our defence.

     

     

    Why so many fouls for us? They can’t get near us. And when they do, often the referee correctly plays the advantage. Example. Paddy Roberts fouled three times by the one player as he cut inside looking for a shot. Forrest almost scored from the advantage played.

     

     

    If he scores everyone congratulates the ref.

    It was great today, really great, the support were so happy throughout. You can just feel the Celtic are going somewhere under Brendan.

     

     

    I’m sitting with a beer happy, reflecting on the triumph, remembering all today’s wee snippets: Emilio’s jig, the celebratory Walk-on, the goals obviously, the joyous support en-masse, walking down Aitkenhead rd, afterwards.

     

     

    Pleased to see the game is on later ……..you see lots at the game but miss lots too.

     

     

    Happy as a pig in muck.

    58 trophies won in my lifetime, taking years into account rather than specific dates, might actually be 57, 66-67 league cup final was before April ’67.

     

    26 league titles included.

     

    By my next birthday in April, my 50th, we will have league number 27, pretty much makes us top dogs in my lifetime.

    Another thing that delighted me today was the walk on in the 89 th minute purely natural and not contrived. I was starting to think that the song had gone out of fashion, apart from when it’s played over a loudspeaker.

     

    So magic to hear it sung by the fans alone.

    A very good eveining fellow bhoys! What a great day and I never ended up getting the 2 tickets to take my dad for his birthday but had a great day with him all the same and can’t thank Hamiltontim enough for his efforts In getting them for me! You’re a fine man mate and won’t forget you trying.

     

    Great to do it in the way we did and the difference in such a short space of time after some of our last visits to the sfa midden we showed our class. Was hoping to rattle 5 past them as I seen some of their horrible lot before the game having zero class as a support but was still enough to sicken them but more interested in how we played and where we’re going under our stewardship under the brodge! Hope everyone is having a great night!

    I worked with him for a while in the 90s. Dallas knew him much better than me.

     

    Yes Davey would drive you nuts a very good player, bags of natural talent but never took football too serious or seriously enough depending on your viewpoint.

    For the people whinging about the foul count,and in every game,lets be clear,this Celtic team wont be bullied,in fact,we are bulliying other teams.If the foull count is against us,I am quite happy.No one will shove us about.Remember the time everyone loved to play against Celtic,because they loved to play football.Those days are gone.Nothing to do with referees,we are standing up for ourselves..I am quite happy for Broony etc to pick up legitimate yellows,in the right areas.We are not any pushovers,and for one am happy with that.
