St Stivs , a quicker but longer way to get away from Hampden would be to park on Kings Park Avenue , facing east towards Rutherglen/Burnside.
Head towards and through Rutherglen heading for the M74 junction 2.
If you go on to the M74 westbound , you sort of double back on yourself and dont get stuck trying to get on the motorway at Polmadie .
As I said , its a long way for a shortcut but could be quicker.

SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 27TH NOVEMBER 2016 6:02 PM
Just back from the game and watching the presentation.
Aberdeen were not terrible and Celtic were not great but that was still one of the more comfortable and controlled Cup finals we have experienced.
I watched the game on TV. That sums up the game! We didn’t create a lot of chances and Big Jozo’s recovery tackle from his misplaced pass was crucial in TR’s goal!
James Forrest was braver today than in any game I have seen him play. He has that in his locker. If only he believed more often.
I thought the Sheep were always in it and played better than anytime we have slapped them down recently and even when they sneaked wins against us. I hope they bring their A game to their next visit to Glasgow to play Sevco. McInnes may have other ideas!
The League Cup is outdated now. We beat Alloa, Motherwell, Sevco and Sheep to win it. Trebles are always nice though! ;-)

Good evening CQN. What a wonderful day. Didn’t take my ticket , thanks to Daryl Broadfoot not. even trying to hide corruption on the SFM a year or so ago.
No issue with anyone who did.
My day was spent with long time friends, many of whom don’t attend matches any more ,their choice. I seriously loved every minute today.
The boozer was jumping, even more so when the buses returned.
Brendan is building something special.
To think that this time last year ,many who were star’s today , were slaughtered on this forum.
Confidence and belief are paramount in a sporting sense.
After the game , as a wee lad , I was taken round by the men of the family to Aitkenhead Rd. , and told to look out for the big silver cup at the front of the bus .
Thanks , Roy.
Transported back to that day and that occasion.

Brendan had Izzy guarding the near post at one corner kick.
I have always felt that Izzy had a weakness dealing with crosses to the far post .

I think that I might have mentioned to you before that my mum taught there and used to remind us that she had shaken hands with ” Mr. Stein ” on that occasion.
Back from Embra and watching the game again with a wee libation. I love Celtic and reacting to an earlier post, is there a greater Celt than Bertie Auld?

Macjay,
You did tell me that your mum taught there at that time.
What was her name?
You don’t have to say if it compromises your anonymity.
On another topic, the Aberdeen-on-loan lad Maddison is a good young, creative midfield players who took a good few dull yins today but never hid. We have need of such a player. A bit slight at the moment but I think well worth a punt.
My weekend started badly with a major water leak into my flat but it improved somewhat with my visit to Blantyre to see “Anyone but Celtic” in the company of BT, Four Green Fields, and a few other notable CQN’rs. I duly headed South and spent the weekend with my daughter and grandweans. Thankfully she has BT Sports, so I watched the game whilst sprawled out on her settee, not normally that relaxed when watching the Bhoys. Now at my final destination and ‘home’/place of work for the next 3 weeks.
I thoroughly enjoyed our victory and I am delighted for Brendan and his Captain, he’ll have to have that smile surgically removed :-))))
It was great to see Izzy win his medal, I doubt if there was anybody more delighted than him with the victory.
Hail! Hail! PMTYH
PS BRTH, I’ve not ignored your e-mail about Lisbon I just had other things on my mind due to the deluge in my flat, hopefully sorted now. I will deal with it tomorrow.

“I am gutted, absolutely devastated,” said skipper Ryan Jack. “Celtic were very good on the day and we didn’t hit our heights as a team. We are disappointed but we will make sure we stick together. We will bounce back and be back. I’m sure for this club and for this team there will be many days like this in the future.
“I’m sure everyone will be asking how Aberdeen are going to react and how is their team going to be,” he added. “Is everyone going to be together? Of course, we are. This is as tight a team and a group as I have ever been involved in. I have got no doubt that when we turn up at Ibrox at 3pm next Saturday we will be ready to play and ready to put things right.”

Wits,
I’m afraid the identity of the third player is lost in the mists of time.
The combined talents of Poirot, Columbo and Dixon of Dock Green would struggle to come up with the answer .
Unless there was a super efficient school secretary, who logged every visitor, I’m afraid we will never know.
Maybe Macjay’s mum passed the identity to her son.

A fantastic goal by James Forrest today however I was equally impressed by his lung bursting challenge in the second half inside our 18 yard box. The wee man showed some true grit today.
