  1. “We seem to have the worst scouting in Europe”

    Hyperbole.

We had Malmo’s best player and didn’t give him a decent chance. Rosenborg isn’t exactly a great player or an unknown.

Their team was made up of players from their domestic league or other Scandinavian leagues.

They were no better than the Helsinborgs team that Neil Lennon’s team cuffed

Well you see your the one who posted that DD and PL where not Celtic supporters, and I proved in an article that they where, and you didn’t believe the article, you said it was not true, or words to that affect, but as far as posting goes, you fill your boots with the negativity posts and everything bad about Celtic, and we all have to sit back and post nothing?

It’s a blog, that’s the way it works, and by the way your choice of words are a little over the top, it’s not a fight in the playground, I don’t agree with your negativity on Celtic, and if you don’t like what I post, then scroll on past them.

Dangerous road to go down, bud. The blog isn’t improved by attacking each other because of differences in the way we support our club.

You are better than that,THEGREENMAN is better than that.

There’s little to be gained and a lot of respect to be lost by doing so. Took me a while to get that, btw!

Show me one where I attacked him, and I’ll apologise.?

  4. Timaloy. Yes who was he and will we see him again. Prob not

But it is a flexible approach We don’t have that

  5. I am just reflecting on a conversation I had with the lady from the Celtic pools department when she sold me my pools subscription. She was a very good saleswoman as it happens, and sounded a lovely lady.

She sold to me on the back of how important it was to Celtic to develop our own talent.

I can’t decide whether I should up my subscription or cancel it!

  6. One up front?

These are the stats for the four top-scoring Celtic strikers in the all-conquering 66/67 season.

    Steve Chalmers 36 goals in 52 games;

    Joe McBride 35 goals in 26 games;

    Bobby Lennox 25 goals In 46 games;

Willie Wallace 21 goals in 30 games.

Which one would Ronny have picked?!

Yes I know, a different era and all that…

    HH!!

You are always at the wind up…..always trying to trash someone with your board BS

Like I said, you want to dish it out, you will get it back.

And I tell you what…you are not bullying anyone on this site for having different views than you have.

    That is not happening.

    Not while I’m here.

  8. Biggest puzzler for me was the managers substitutions why not take a few moments to reassess after the sending off but he made the change regardless. Ambrose was never going to provide the attacking option down the right, which would have pinned them back plus we left our best goal scorer cooling his heels, being a bit bolder would have gave them something to think about. Instead we handed them the initiative and it looked as if we were happy with the draw.

  9. Dont know how anybody can right off Blackett after one game and expect their opinions to be taken seriously.

Go and ask a Man U fan about him and you might get an opinion based on some solid grounding

None of your replies to THEGREENMAN-or to anyone else with the temerity to question our beloved leaders are likely to win you a Nobel Peace Prize.

I value your opinion but blind faith is not the way forward,IMO.

When things go wrong, sort the problem then figure out why it happened. Simple management.

Our leaders seem to think that there isn’t a problem which can’t be fixed by sticking to the same strategy which caused that problem in the first place.

That is why there are so many questions on here. It doesn’t make anyone asking those questions less of a Celtic supporter.

    I know you care,mate. But..

    We all do.

  11. Tally bhoy. Doesn’t matter which one Ronny would pick. Pl would have recommended a project who had scored 4 goals in 60 games and he has final say

  12. I don’t believe for a minute that anything is going to happen not today or tomorrow, nup TD and Green Man will not meet for a square go.

Leave them alone to sort it out, big TD ruffles another feather…. and he bit. To much I think..!

More importantly I’ve emptied the dish

washer filled it again and onto my third washing, two out on the line….rain..?

Bed made, room tidied, everything nearly tidy. Off today and tomorrow and nae mates.

    Ayrshire is Green and White

  13. Ger57

    Yes he did.

Chalmers, Wallace and Lennox all played in Lisbon.

McBride would almost certainly have played, barring his injury in December ’66.

That’s me getting all dewey-eyed and nostalgic again.

    Cannae help it.

    HH!!

  14. Dear God!! I long for the days when this blog was generally used for Celtic related news and insight, a good laugh at Rangers and healthy but respectful (in the main) debate. Years ago there was a poster called Joshyboy who came on here and set about winding everyone up with his snidey self-centred views. His thing was to tell us all how we were all nothing in comparison to how much he put into Celtic. Total bollocks of course, but he stood out as a real bawbag compared to the regular posters of the day.

Sad to say that style of posting is now beginning to feel like the norm. This place gets more like a teenage girl’s Facebook timeline every day. The bawbags are taking over. More’s the pity.

Here! Don’t pull out the bullying card that’s not gonna fly, or the victim card that’s not on either, you made a statement about DD and PL, I defended them, and YOU didn’t like it, everyone knows I’m an easy touch when the club are getting it in the neck, so if me defending my club in your opinion is bullying, then you’ve got me bang ti writes, although I doubt it very much, so don’t be pulling out the bullying, or victim card.

TD67 AND THEGREENMAN. Bhoys the enemies of Celtic will always try to divide and conquer the support all sorts of rumours are spread to us the latest one is Ronny has lost the dressing room how would they know ? You are both Celtic fans with different opinions and neither of you is likely to change your views so why not accept your differences and talk to each other like adult Celtic supporters ? all the posturing from each of you doesnt do either of you any credit you both have points about Celtic which are worthy of posting on CQN rather than squabbling leave that to our enemies. H.H.

  21. I want Celtic to win every game but know that is impossible. So, to lose away to an on form and confident Aberdeen is not a disaster. Moreover several of our squad had travelled halfway round the world for international games whist the Aberdeen squad were fully rested. Plus we had a new defence.

These matters were all raised in the lead up to the game and Aberdeen, with a little help from the MIB, took their opportunity. They showed guts in going for it with 10 men. Fair do’s.

Ronny has a massive job to gel our defence and build up the team’s morale in the next couple of weeks. If he does, then he will prove his many detractors wrong. If he doesn’t, then it maybe is the case that he can’t hack it at Celtic. Interesting times!

For me, the board bashing going on is a distraction. There is no open transfer window, PL doesn;t pick or motivte the team. I support Celtic. The team needs support right now.

What good comes of slagging this player or that decision to buy so and so 3 months ago? The right to say, “I told you so?” Aye, some fans you are.

  23. I think there is very little possibility of a Celtic win on Thursday. The bookies agree, Ajax are 5/6, we are 16/5.

I hope we show we are a lot more robust however, and lose the sieve like mentality in our back 5.

Lenny and WGS would have played a solid 4-5-1 over there. It might not have been pretty but it would have been effective.

Looking for Ronny to show he can adapt his players and system to the challenge.

Hope they are practicing defending corners at Lennoxtown right this very second!

  24. We have quite a few problems right now.

Teams know that if they press our defence then we will either misplace passes or go long. When we go long there is nobody capable of winning or holding onto the ball.

I can only presume that is why Rogic was played on Saturday. It was always him showing for a long throw or challenging for long balls. He doesn’t have the strength or desire to win these balls tho.

As such, we struggle to get out.

Ronny definitely seems to me to have no real relationship with the players. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as long as they respect him. I’m not sure they do. If he is telling them to press and play a high tempo and it is not being carried out then he needs to act. If he is being undermined then he needs to act. If he doesn’t then quite correctly he should go.

Our defence is well covered and the quality is probably not too bad (we were spoiled with JD and VVD) but as others have said, the experience isn’t there and it’s telling.

Finally, I really don’t think the formation is the problem. It’s the most used formation in the CL. We just need to sign and play players who suit it.

Trying to play a quick passing game with Brown, Johansen and Mulgrew around is doomed to failure. These guys are ok and can play a part but not all together.
