When Juventus scored in the opening minutes in the away leg of their last 16 Champions League tie last night it felt familiar. It’s just three years since you and I saw them in person do the same thing at the same stage of the competition.
It took Bayern Munich 70 minutes to rebound but we’ve not really recovered from a lapses in a tie which could otherwise have been far closer than the five goal margin it turned into. Getting back onto the same field with the likes of Juventus after Christmas (or even after August) is now the big challenge. It will take some doing.
I liked Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as a player but as a Usurper of Meritocracy he’s falling well down my list. He celebrated both teams after last night’s game before asking how long Uefa would countenance teams like Juventus exiting the competition at this stage? Not only would he like clubs like his get guaranteed entrance to the competition, he feels that elimination in March should is too harsh a consequence for losing.
I’m sure Rummenigge was being deliberately absurd last night. He’s trying to provoke alarm before playing his hand.
John Clark, on Scottish Football Monitor, attended SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s presentation at Edinburgh University yesterday on values and integrity in football. Mr Clark questioned Mr Regan on whether Rangers failure to pay overdue social taxes in 2011 broke Uefa competition eligibility rules. Clark informs us Regan said he would do “Nothing” if incontrovertible evidence was available that social taxes were unpaid and that debt collectors had been employed.
We have a criminal lack of oversight in Scotland, not just in football. This attitude would not be possible in London.
The spirit of Jack Warner, Sepp Blatter and so many others is alive and well at Hampden. This is what we’re up against, and remember people, Blame the Victim is the hottest game in town, it doesn’t matter if you don’t know the background, anyone can play.

It has finally happened…someone has diagnosed what CQNers have been suffering from….
http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20160308-the-curse-of-the-people-who-cant-stop-making-puns
It’s a serious condition, it’s not punny…
Celtic FC have hurt Celtic FC by not pursuing due diligence by the SFA when they should have thus loosing out on much CL money.
Celtic FC have hurt the club further via the 5 way agreement and kow towing to the SFA
Celtic FC have hurt the club even more by pursuing the bigot buck
Celtic FC have hurt the club by trying to criminalize its most vocal supporters
Celtic FC have further hurt the club by selling its best players
Celtic FC have hurt the club by not investing in the football on the field
Celtic FC have hurt the club by interfering with the coaching
Celtic FC have hurt the club by refusing to accept the responsibility of res 12 tabled at one of their AGM’s in 2013 and dumped it on our illustrious 4.
No one has hurt Celtic FC (especially since 2009) more than the current custodians of Celtic FC
..not the fans not the players not the managerial staff!

Waiting for Limini the treble.
Johns Spirit on the nose. Cheltenham good this year. :)
In fact in the spirit of brother Walfrid these wankers..Lord of the Lies, Lord Livingston, Lord Wankier the Bankier etc should donate their shares to fans who bought shares under Fergus, take their moustachioed Irish benefactor with them and just F***** ***.
Rummenigge…is he a…..better not!
Delaneys

…happens to me all the time. I was going to get a brain transplant but then I changed my mind.
Weeminger
Agreed and I reckon the only way to get a semblance of truth or justice here will be for the shareholders to approach AIM, at the end of the day the board are being derelict in their duty to the shareholders.

It is NOT illegal for the club to inform UEFA of alleged fraud, corruption within their association,
I REPEAT, IT IS NOT ILLEGAL.
It is against uefa’s rule to take your association to court, which may or may not have consequences, it didn’t have any when the huns took the sfa to court.
The pish coming from Barcabhoy and others about dire consequences for the club is just that, scaremongering pish.

It was a coincidence.

@MattMcGlone9 Matt i was talking specifically abt res 12.#cheers
@Green20William so many issues going on didn’t know it was about that. Why don’t a new fans group do what we did 22 years ago & do something?
Davidopoulos on 17th March 2016 4:26 pm
be careful with that cloning. So what if I don’t know what apocalypse means!? It’s not the end of the world!

The field next door to my house is full of llamas, so I know what the alpacalypse means.
True story.

LOL!
alpacalypse now?
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh go léir. Great to see people getting excited last night on the blog about Dublin next weekend.
Cloghercelt is sending out an email later and I’ll be confirming a few details with the venue later on this evening.
If anyone has a banner to display at the gig we’d be more than happy to hear from you.
We also have a fantastic prize, gifted to us by a regular CQNer, for our raffle. I’ll tell you more about it closer to the event. Suffice to say I would give my right arm for it.

Just got back from the beach and found my kitchen had been vandalised by a small man from Corsica.
Linoleum Tornapart.
Happy St Patrick’s Day to one and all.
Getting plagued by the Tower of Pisa and other tourist photies and now Disneyland. Very very annoying. Getting more and more difficult to get on line.
Utterly appalled at Regan’s nonsense. He’s obviously trying to save his own skin but to admit to turning a blind eye to serious misconduct by a club which is part of the Association he runs hardly bears understanding let alone acceptance. How can he pontificate about transparency or anything else? Owning that he will take no action in such circumstances opens the door to all and any corrupt practice. I’m totally astounded of forehead. In fact, I can’t get my head round it. You couldn’t make it up. Oh for someone like Alex Thompson to bring him to account.
Limini leaves a lot of punters happy
Bad day for the bookies
How can anyone be surprised by the SFA acting hun like?
Their raison d’etre is to protect huns because they are huns and are hell bent on bringing their vanguard team back into the Old Firm gravy train at the expense of well…. if you know your history

That was Francis Ford Coppola’s original concept but the plot was a bit woolly….

HAPPY HOOOOPY BIRTHDAY to

Turkeybhoy.
Firstly it is inconceivable that there would be any illegality in reporting potential fraud and corruption to any governing body. In fact Turkeybhoy where that would be the case the governing body would in fact be breaking uk and European law on anti bribery and corruption (a law that I know sadly only too well).
But let’s suspend our disbelief for a second. If there was a genuine reason for Celtic behaving in the manner they are towards res 12 then why don’t they just tell us. That way at least we can understand.
But they won’t tell us. Because they have no reason. Other than they are up to their necks in it themselves.
And yes destabilising the board will indeed bring uncertainty. But it’s better that than live with the certainty we are all living a lie in a corrupt and fixed game. A game in which we are apparently only too willing to be the victim.
Why would we want that Turkeybhoy.
I understand your position but I am sorry to say you are acting as if you want to be some quisling. Grimly accepting your lot because you are too scared of change but unhappy, miserable and generally angry. What’s the point Turkeybhoy? It’s a short life.
Celtic are more important to me than you realise. The club and particularly our supporters have been a massive part of my life.
But it’s actually pretty simply, even if painful, in the end. Either we fight the board for control and reform or many of us walk away). And while no doubt you will console yourself with the thought of good riddance, a huge part of the club is dying and it won’t ever be the same again. Every game against the zombies will either result in a hollow victory or a sense of helplessness and pointlessness. All the while you will all imagine the boards laughing and slapping each other’s backs about how clever they are and how very very dumb all the supporters are.
Getting angry with me turkebhoy is pointless. Shooting messengers is popular amongst the dumb and the ruling elite. I might not be the best of messengers but all that is coming to pass is as. Predicted.
The next steps.
That’s up to us.

Sounds like you had the same selections as I did today.
I don`t really bet on horses but I enjoy watching Cheltenham on TV and have a bet to increase said enjoyment.
Many years ago, someone told me that Thursday was the best day for favourites ( there was a kind of paranoid logic to the theory!) so I tried it out today. Success!
JJ
Weeminger. Like Turkeybhoy I think you are hanging onto something that has gone. That there is any hope now that our board are acting with integrity.
But like you say. If they have a reason then why not just tell us?
Pretty simple really.
But they have no reason.
And they think that it they ignore us long enough we will forget and be swept away in an orgy of sectarian bile.
Pretty pathetic really.
To be honest Weeminger I am beginning to find all this quite liberating. i can speak honestly about Celtic and with a clear head. I can make rational, if difficult decisions. I can recognise the incompetence, arrogance and corruption of those who currently run Celtic.
Tonight…the time 19.30….the place….The Laureston….the Event….Frank McGarvey’s 60 the birthday party.
Hail hail

If you are out there in cyberspace somewhere.
Keep strong amigo.
Hope you are back soon.
Hail Hail fellow Rebel.
Guys, my take on the current situation ref res 12 is that Celtic or any other club cannot take down the SFA as that would mean taking down Scottish Football. No SFA no professional football in Scotland. There maybe a way to reconstitute a football association but it would take time and in the meantime, what?
Any thoughts?
WEEJOE
I wouldnt like to be in PL’s shoes if he doesnt get his finger out.
Challenge the whole stinking corrupt charade that is Scottish Football.
Clean the stable.
Id rather stand on principle, than fall in iniquity.
HH
Green man. A critical mass of supporters has indeed begun to realise that the gig is up. The fog is lifting from many eyes and cqn is evidence of that.
No one is now defending the board.
Some are trying to find reasons for their behaviour (naturally) but even then they are struggling with it.
But greenman sadly I think it is going to take more pain for us as a support to really stir the desire for action.
That pain is coming.
Visit CQN and read of squirrels, ostriches, elephants in the room, dogs on a beach and llamas in the field…and people being thrown under buses (Dedryck are you still there?)…and of course tons of puns…and mince, lots of mince….I love my daily dose of CQN…
