Abuser hypocrisy, United and Atletico

939

I don’t know what was said to Neil Lennon after the victory over Dunfermline last week but if it caused him to react I can imagine the tone.  The few visits I made to the South Stand during Gordon Strachan’s tenure left an indelible image of life as a Celtic manager.

Whatever Kirk Broadfoot did or did not say to Rangers fans towards the end of their defeat at Kilmarnock yesterday, does anyone seriously think it contained more invective than has been hurled at the player for most of his career?

The self-righteous indignation some football fans exhibit when an employee earning [insert a completely irrelevant figure here]exhibits intolerance to what would get you barred for life from any other workplace in the country is the epitome of hypocrisy.

Garry Kenneth, who is likely to face Celtic at Tannadice on Sunday, today told the world he will not be renewing his contract when it expires at the end of the season, saying, “Dundee United are a feeder club, it has always been like that.” Ouch.  Whatever Kenneth thinks of United he should at least respect their fans emotional investment in the club to be a whole lot more careful with his words.  Should make for a tense afternoon in the United defence, especially if we can put the big guy under some pressure.

Big game on Wednesday.  A win would fire enormous impetus into our season.  Whatever the outcome, the game will provide Neil Lennon with a guide on how to play in the hugely important month ahead.

Like I said. Time to retire and consider your response before posting the answer.

  3. Bobby M’s–wasn’t offended at all–quite the contrary. I’ve come to the conclusion than Deccy is either an orc with a PHD or Estadio at his lark. As posted, no-one could be that stupid.

I think it would be a huge mistake to bring Broonie back in now.

He may have his uses in the SPL for away games at tricky grounds but for European stage or home games we have far better options imo.

I’m loving what we’ve seen over the past few weeks, I don’t want it to stop!

I’d be happy if he left for free in January.

  5. I notice a few of you suggesting I might be Declan.

Well I can categorically tell you that its a maybees Aye or a maybees Naw.

MWD personally think the spleglin and eth grimmar is to good to be me. For sure.

BTW Walking from city centre across squiggly bridge there when I was accosted by a rather largish plume of smoke far the fire. Now smell and look like a frigin chimney sweep. Wish I had my camera though cause there were some fair sized flames dancin oot the roof of the old co-op building tae. Surprised the Kingston bridge hasn’t been shut as the smoke is drifting thickly across it. So if your headin hame via the KB, Morrison St or PRW – good luck. It’s gonna be a slow journey fur yae.

  6. Just got home and I think I managed to miss the traffic chaos by minutes. I had left the car at Bridge Street underground and it wasn’t too bad heading south from there. Have a feeling it will get much worse as the rush hour kicks in.

Cheers, bud. My sense of humour is difficult to convey face-to-face sometimes,so it is too easy to take a step too far online and annoy people just for a cheap gag, forgetting that the recipient cannae see the glint in my eye.

It’s certainly no coincidence that we have played our best football when he’s been on the injury list.

I just hope that Lenny see’s sense and lets him go.

As for him being Celtic captain… don’t get me started!

  12. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Kojo. A good shout put Broonie on the bench and dont disrupt Saturdays team give them the chance to beat he spaniards. However,I feel Lennie will go for Broonie as he rates him highly. H.H.

  13. If Celtic want to punt Broony in January then he will have to play.

I don’t think he is a centre midfielder but would certainly play on the right in certain matches when young Forrest looks a bit light weight. I would play him there on Thursday with Stokes and Hooper up top and Sammi in midfield wide left.

I still think we will come to some agreement with Broon and his agents. It’s far too much money to shell out and then let him walk for hee haw.

  14. The tapas in the ole Gazebo are excellent, freshly made to order.

Every time the ole Cellick score the cooks throw their Sombreros cordobes in the air, adding to the gaiety of the atmosphere, as if that were possible!

Bournesouprecipe swears the delicious pinchos de encurtidos and the polbo á feira help take his mind off the ole tremblin’ mince.

Got a funny video recording yesterday of a taxi man here in Madagascar saying Celtic Celtic but not a clue how to upload

  16. I don’t think you can say we started playing our best football when Broonie was injured as when he first got injured we were absolutely awful. I’m not saying he should immediately come back into a winning team but I think his contribution is grossly undervalued by many Celtic supporters. He was an integral part of our good run last season and hopefully will enhance the team now he is back. I also hope we manage to extend his contract.

Now I know for sure where I get my innate paranoia from!

  18. Kojo,

Wanyama is a far better player than Broonie, I think him and Kayal will be a fantastic partnership for us.

Broonie would be a good addition if we were playing 5 across the middle.

Bye the way, how good does Joe look at left back?

  19. Joe Filippis Haircut on

I also think as well as Broonie we will find a place for Mulgrew if he feels up to the game so I expect there to be several changes from Saturdays team. As ive said earlier I wouldnt change a winning team but im not Lennie also expect to see Ki get a place. H.H.

  20. I dismay at some people. I am not a massive fan of Scott Brown but last season at Ibroke he led the comeback in the 2-2 match and was outstanding. He also stood up to Doof.

This season he possibly made the pass of the season at Ibroke for Hooper to score. Let’s see what Scott can do in the team before writing him off. He still wears the jersey and deserves the fans support.

    From The Telegraph,

Australian growth was slowed by flooding in early 2011 to 1.8pc, but will bounce back to 4pc in 2012 buoyed by the mining boom and high trade. Unemployment is low at 5.3pc, inflation is 2.8pc and the national deficit is forecast to be trimmed to just 0.3pc by 2013

If I was a youngster with a worthwhile degree or a good trade-I’M NONE OF THOSE THREE-I think I would be looking at Australia or Canada.
