SAINT STIVS @ 4:34 PM,
I always thought it was the reserve team kit.
It is interesting that it has a shamrock and not a four leaf clover.
Recently read it was controvertial for some reason so Celtic not only stopped wearing it but they wete supposed to be handed in and destroyed – so they are very rare jerseys.

Neil would have done lots of interviews after Sundays defeat to Ross County, this was said in one of them,
“I didn’t think there was a hell of a lot wrong with the performance.
We gave a poor goal away from a good position, gave a penalty away and again we’ve switched off for the set play.
The body language of the players was good”
No doubt he would have said lots more than that but if he honestly is thinking that there was no problem with the performance then presumably we can expect more performances like that coming – not good😕
Midweek games are tough in the old US of A. People always seem to put meetings on my calendar.
It’s a conspiracy I tell you.
Good performance on the front foot.

Hoping for a good performance and a couple of goals – like everyone, worried about our mid to back defensive ability.

Cmon the Hoops or as predictive text aptly put common hopps as I think we’ll need a wee libation going by our tried and tested 3-6-1 formation but as a clock is correct twice a day this might be our lucky night.
Totally conflicted here – blatantly obvious we need change – only one possible outcome if we don’t get that change – the 10 goes down the drain,
the thing is the board of directors, our CEO and principal share holder – all the people with power at Celtic, are well aware of the importance of this season and they would have been aware for some considerable time – like the last 9 seasons,
…and look at the mess we are in – so not one of them had the foresight to stand up and shout ‘DANGER – ICEBERG AHEAD’ ? – if they are as complacent as they appear to be – then this mess is of their making.
and heres me thinking they would have had a master plan for us to win the 10!

same old same old , but what else can Lenny do with this squad of players to save face and a hammering.
Hopefully that team surprises us and doesn’t get pumped, won’t be holding my breath tho.
I wonder what Broonie, who is a legend BTW, has to do to get benched, I really hope Milan play their third team as their first and second mid will destroy us esp if our capitano isn’t at the races.

Both Neil Lennon and Scott Brown himself have said he needs to be used sparingly. So why is he playing in league cup games and dead-rubbers? Perfect chance to give minutes to other squad members.
It’s not as if his performances have been so dominant that he can’t be dropped.

St Stivs @4.34pm previous thread re Political strip.
Since Billy’s strip went up for auction there has been a lot of email traffic and trips down memory lane amongst those of us who remember Celtic wearing this as their second strip.
That picture of Bobby Evans leading the team out ( I am pretty certain ) was an afternoon replayed kick off against Kilmarnock at Hampden in the early 1960’s. We lost! I was in the early years at Holyrood just down the road from Hampden and we were allowed out and rushed to the game. Another one of those horrible sinking feelings when a Celtic team full of great players failed to deliver.
Anyway back at the strip. I had never heard it referred to as our Political strip until about 2 weeks ago during the run up to that McTears auction. In my community in the Gorbals everyone referred to it as either our Irish or Shamrock strip. I do understand why , with the passage of time, this new Nom de guerre is attractive but I think it’s an urban myth.
Last time I recall Celtic wearing that strip was in a Glasgow cup tie against Rangers at Parkhead. It was a battle royal and Celtic won. Probably wore it subsequently but that is certainly my last sighting of a fondly remembered Celtic strip.
