ERIK SVIATCHENKO won the Danish Superliga’s Player of the Year award last night after a marvellous season with FC Midtjylland before his £2million move to Celtic.
The 24-year-old central defender was outstanding as his previous club won their first-ever title in the 2014/15 campaign.
Sviatchenko’s was also brought into the Danish international squad and scored his first goal for his country against France in October.
After helping Midtjylland secure a spot in the last 32 of the Europa League, he moved to the Hoops during the January transfer window.
The player received his prize at the annual Danish Football Awards, which were staged at a ceremony in Copenhagen.
