Agents talk to the media when they are not talking to Celtic

One of the problems of doing your business discretely is that if and when agents or selling clubs publicise your interest in their player, media attention has a tendency to attribute too much focus on the most recent name revealed.  Teemu Pukki is a player Celtic have been trailing for some months but the fact that his agent yesterday revealed their interest is no indication that he enjoys any pre-eminence over others strikers being considered.  If anything, briefings from the agent are an indication of the opposite.

Reports yesterday that Pukki is backup in case a bid for Finnbogason fails are also wide of the mark; this is not the active path Celtic are working on.  There are (at least) two other strikers under consideration, neither of whom have directly or indirectly leaked the discussions.

Nothing sells media adverts like transfer ‘news’, which is fair enough, but news is easier to find than the actual story. This is a ‘no news’ article, the easiest of all. No panicking in the back…

What are you using to post it?

Normally,I use the “return” or equivalent button when I want to start a new line.

I thought the coverage on BTVision of the Liverpool game was great; none of the bias and ineptitude we are used to from the SMSM.

  3. Its safe to say we are going to buy a striker around the 3M mark….maybe a little more.

    Happy days

  13. Anyone else perturbed by so many ‘Celtic Minded’ people pushing this wee Celtic Nation team into the spotlight and trying to gather interest from Celtic fans?

Is this mob our stealth fighter into English football or are we all supposed to abandon Glasgow and go to Carlisle?

I don’t give a monkeys whether I know the name of our new striker nor how much he cost us. The only true measure over time is whether he will consistently bang in the goals. Better to have a no-name who scores than a big-name who bores. A big-name might initially put some curiosity-and-excitement-value bums on seats, but will they stay seated if he doesn’t do what he was brought in to do? Personally I am hoping for a no-name sensation like Larsson or Lubo to do the celtic Business. Also hoping that young Mr Watt delivers more of his Barca-esque promise this season, and that big Amido follows Neil Lennon’s number 1 instruction; “Just score goals big man! Just score goals!” :-)

    Yours in Celtic,

How important is it to be right in a difference of opinion on a day like today.

If you cant be grateful for what you have look around you and be grateful for what you have been spared from.

This place is special it’s up to each and everyone of us to ensure it stays that way.
