One of the problems of doing your business discretely is that if and when agents or selling clubs publicise your interest in their player, media attention has a tendency to attribute too much focus on the most recent name revealed. Teemu Pukki is a player Celtic have been trailing for some months but the fact that his agent yesterday revealed their interest is no indication that he enjoys any pre-eminence over others strikers being considered. If anything, briefings from the agent are an indication of the opposite.
Reports yesterday that Pukki is backup in case a bid for Finnbogason fails are also wide of the mark; this is not the active path Celtic are working on. There are (at least) two other strikers under consideration, neither of whom have directly or indirectly leaked the discussions.
Nothing sells media adverts like transfer ‘news’, which is fair enough, but news is easier to find than the actual story. This is a ‘no news’ article, the easiest of all. No panicking in the back…

Today of all days, I learned that part of the work process is to leave our system and go to another system, this is called OSCAR!

Collected my tickets today for the upcoming CL game (of the season) from a strangely quiet ticket office…………no queue @11.30.
Afterwards had occasion to go into the Forge for a wee look at something only to have this rather tall young guy rattling a collection tin in my direction followed by..’ help support the troops’ to which I replied……….’ why dont you go over to ibrox as they owe the tax man £60 million ‘ ehhh ye he says.
The boy was english and looked like a squaddie ……..seemed a bit taken aback, bless.

Yes. I can see where your coming from. Old Firm means more money. Peter Lawwell may lie to the world and tell us we dont budget for that then get a cheerleader to tell us that is the case, but as we all know actions or lack of actions in this case speak louder than words. Another advantage about being an exile is that you can hold up more than the Old board of both old Firm teams to take a stance and Firm an objective opinion on.
Being a Celtic fan and supporting this PLC means your an old Firm fan. Whether you like that or not that is how it will be seen and when Celtic play the subservient fore lock tuggers to them then it is no surprise that the non old Firm fans hate us more than the huns. It’s not possible for me to get along to Celtic park as much as i like. 2-3 times a season in a good year.
And as such i try to immerse myself with football in Turkey which isn’t always easy because none of the teams are Celtic!
I turn up at games throughout Istanbul and watch many different teams. Finding a game, looking for the stadium and then getting in amongst it is really enjoyable and some of the best times are in the Turkish equivalent of the Scottish league 1. Smaller Stadiums, crowds, but still going for it…….been asked if i was a scout on more than one occasion! Lol
The main team I follow in Turkey is Beşiktaş. I live in the area and it’s easy for me to get to the games. So for any oversees CQN’ers or I suppose UK/ Ireland CQNers with a wee bit on the side!, Who do you also like and why.

I was reading back on the last blog and it was great to read all the comments
regarding Celtic shops in Govanhill and the surrounding areas, I still drink in the QPcafe
before and after games, and as someone mentioned Benny Roony did sell the pub earlier this year , the people that own the Vicky bar have taking it over, as for the old Mulberry now the Ivory, I drank in their from 75 through to about to about 83 , great place and as some said full of people from C/milk it was an education some of the older guys from the Gorbals that
also drank in the Mulberry, drink in the QP cafe at the weekends and particularly if the Celtic are at Celtic Park. I also hate it when the huns are referred to as the southsiders it makes me cringe no association with the real soosiders.

Saw him at cathedral yesterday for mass.
Too much negative talk on here about who we are, or more significantly in others opinion, who we are not signing, I believe it is all in hand and will surface with positive news before the month is out.
On the very sad news of Wee Oscar and what appears to be a bad prognosis we must storm heaven with our prayers, beseech Him to bestow His power and spirit, the spirit that exceeds all thought to lay across this family to help them to cope with the situation they find themselves in yet again.
In Him there is hope.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, and I hope all here in the Celtic family are well. Just changed my name here in the colonies to support wee Oscar. Tragic news and I know we’ll respond to this challenge with the same level of support that we’ve always displayed. Best of luck to Celtic this weekend and in the Euro, but that all seems of secondary importance today. Giving the weans an extra hug and am grateful for their health. Best to all of you!.
