It’s ‘only’ Hamilton Accies at home, but Accies have already won at Easter Road and Ibrox this season. Saturday’s reversal to St Johnstone was against the balance of play and their only defeat in seven. They are a team on better form than the Kilmarnock, St Johnstone and Hibs sides who took points from Celtic Park this season were.
We have more than enough in the locker to win this comfortably, but confidence has seldom been higher at Accies, who will have a go. Whatever weaknesses Martin Canning saw in Celtic at Hibs on Sunday, I don’t expect them to materialise tonight, though.
Celtic’s form has been imperious for years. There have been occasional dips, like the current run of one win in four games, but you need to go back to September 2014, when Ronny Deila was finding his feet, since there was a period with only one win in five. It’s not going to happen tonight.
Most of all, I want to see Celtic move the ball out from the back better than they have recently. Kris Ajer performed this task very well in the recent mauling of Motherwell, he should start again.

totally agree about Ajer. When teams press up on our back line (as so many do now) Ajer is the one defender who can break through the press and exploit the space beyond it. It makes such a refreshing change from the square and back passes in our final third.

I always wondered why Celtic didn’t sell number plates here in the US. Florida, where I live, is one of those states that does not require a front number plate so I had a Celtic plate made which has been adorning my truck for the last couple of years. I just bought the Celtic Foundation plate which will be replacing my old one…a little Christmas present to myself :)

I’ve seen a few comments about a quick start tonight, I can’t remember the last time that happened, we used to batter teams in the 1st 20 minutes but now we concentrate on keeping possession and tiring teams out.
