Ajer, Imperious form, Accies

109

It’s ‘only’ Hamilton Accies at home, but Accies have already won at Easter Road and Ibrox this season. Saturday’s reversal to St Johnstone was against the balance of play and their only defeat in seven. They are a team on better form than the Kilmarnock, St Johnstone and Hibs sides who took points from Celtic Park this season were.

We have more than enough in the locker to win this comfortably, but confidence has seldom been higher at Accies, who will have a go. Whatever weaknesses Martin Canning saw in Celtic at Hibs on Sunday, I don’t expect them to materialise tonight, though.

Celtic’s form has been imperious for years. There have been occasional dips, like the current run of one win in four games, but you need to go back to September 2014, when Ronny Deila was finding his feet, since there was a period with only one win in five. It’s not going to happen tonight.

Most of all, I want to see Celtic move the ball out from the back better than they have recently. Kris Ajer performed this task very well in the recent mauling of Motherwell, he should start again.

US and Canadian Celtic fans

Foundation plate

Our good pal, RWE, has commissioned car number plates bearing the Foundation logo, which are available on eBay for a bargain $15.99. These can be displayed on the front of vehicles in many US and Canadian states and territories. All proceeds go to the Celtic Foundation.

I love hearing about initiatives like this. Fans who just get off their bums and ‘do something Celtic’. If you are new around these parts, you can read a wee bit more about RWE on the official site here.

Wishing the Celts well tonight. If we’re not kept waiting twenty minutes for the first shot at goal, then I’ll be confident about bagging three points.

Did a quick comparison between Shaw at Hibs and our Mikey Johnston and Jack Aitchison. Shaw, 19, is a year older than Mikey and two years older than Jack. Our guys have time but this time next season both could be knocking at the door physically so it’ll be up to them to have the game required. This season now is about rattling goals in, two, three, four at a time against domestic development squads.

On we go to 7IAR!, still five to go.

Do you think you were marked differently, surely not, it would be outsiders i. e.markers from another instituition who would do this, might have been different in 68 though, did you appeal it or resit?

The home games I’ve watched at Cappielow and Dumbarton are free. Never even seen the Lennoxtown complex but always had the idea riff-raff, like me, weren’t encouraged to attend. IrnBru Cup ties have a £5 charge but there’s the sub-clause in that one about don’t draw Celtic a home game.

Another one I didn’t understand the club’s attitude was the game against Bilbao at Woking. Hundreds of Celts would’ve supported the team with just a bit of notice. Almost as if the English police say, yes you can play here but don’t involve your supporters.

Train to get ready for now. C’mon the Celts.

I know where you are coming from re ‘Imperious’ but my problem is that it does not really square with my memories of much of what I have watched Celtic produce these lat 5 and a bit years- last season largely excepted.

Now Franz Beckenbauer he was imperious.
