Delighted Kris Ajer has been secured on a new 4-year contract. The player is fast, good on the deck, and at an enormous 6’ 5”, is amply tooled in the air. At 20 years and one month old, developmentally, he is years ‘ahead of the curve’ to borrow a phrase I enjoy.
It is fundamental to the way we play football to have central defenders who can control the ball, pass, and carry it into space. These attributes are even more important that what we regard as traditional central defensive duties.
He will continue to improve for years and has found the perfect environment to develop in.

Was thinking about this song yesterday when you sounded a wee bit homesick.

Gooooooood Evening CQN- 7 in a row Champions
Bada, I dropped you and few Bhoys a note on Arfield over a month ago
I was told a message he had delivered on opening conversations with Sevco
No idea what changed, but £38k per week for 4 years may help explain ??
He was allegedly on £42k per week at Burnley
JIMTHETIM53
Cheers, mate. Doesn’t take much to get me homesick. Almost all of my working life spent in England, and aye. I miss my family,my friends,my football team.
But then,I’m lucky. I have my family,my friends,my football team. There’s plenty of people have none, and nothing like them.
BMCUW
If you need me in Swindon anytime? I will be there. You will never understand how much you saved me. Friends help each other. To Paul67 I am eternally grateful for inventing CQN.

JIMTHETIM53, frankie and benny say hi and woof woof.hh.
Referees
Just watched Ireland Holland under 17 European championship quarter final. The Dutch had already beaten Germany Spain and Serbia without conceding a goal. They were overwhelming favourites.
Game ended one all and went to penalties.
Ireland went first and missed their first and then all penalties were scored .
So its 4 all and Holland to take the last penalty.
Irish keeper pulls off a remarkable save from a well struck pen.
Ref rules Irish keeper moved and gives him a second yellow (he got one during the game) sends him off and orders a retake with an outfield player in goal. Holland score
Worse decision ever
Who hands a 29 year old with a dodgy knee a 4 year deal on good dosh these days??

Thanks pal. 106 thousand v Hibs is the biggest ever attendance I have been at in my life then. Was a week before my First Holy Communion and a month before my 7th birthday. Remember it well that month. Got a Celtic subbuteo team for my 7th birthday.
Happy Days ??
————-‘
Are you sure ? Biggest footie crowd maybe.
I think i remember you saying you attended a certain event in Bellahouston Park in 1982 that had nearly three times that crowd.
If I am mistaken , please accept my apologies.
HH.
Good evening good ghuys
My biggest ever attended game was small fry compared to some.
Celtic v Real Madrid 1980 I think the official attendance was 67,000 but there was a lot more than that in that night. I think my ticket was a couple of quid as well.
I also think Laurie Cunningham played in that game???
D. :)
Bhoys
Can I ask you all keep our own Lionsroar67 in your thoughts and prayers

Can anyone remember Celtic playing a European tie against a team called K-Kola or something similar??? Would have been 70s or early 80s??
My birthday is guy Fawkes day and as a treat my old man used to get tickets for the main stand for me and him for European games, I remember going to see Boavista when very small and other well known European teams, but no one seems to remember playing a team called K-kola..
Maybe I was dreaming.
D. :)
Lionsroar67, thoughts and prayers.ynwa.
LR67- come on , you can do it HH
Lionsroar67 will be in my bed time prayers tonight.

Yes was at the game in Celtic park
David66 , kokola were a Finnish team we beat 9 nil in the first leg.
We first played Boavista in 1975, we won 3 1 at Celtic Park. I think it was nothing each in the first leg with Peter Latchford saving a penalty.
DAVID66 how are you my fenian pal. hope you and cheeko are okay, think that might have been a team from finland, tho not sure.hh.
Greenpinata
You are correct. The biggest crowd I have ever been in to see the Polish Holy Goalie Papa John Paul 2. Seville centre on the day of the EUFA final in 2003 seemed as huge a Tim presence as Bellahouston though. Both were spiritual ocassions I felt.
Dallas
What a memory, I was going to say I thought score was something like 8-1

As I told you yesterday, I will be attending Mass in tribute to Tommy Burns tomorrow in Saint Mary’s Calton. When I receive Holy Eucharist I will be praying for TB and you Billy.
God bless you pal.

Good result for Cumbernauld tonight.
They beat Petershill 3.1
Paddy scored the first, which will please him no end.
Petershill’s fans have been known to boo him because of his name
Also St Rochs were promoted tonight, they beat Wishaw.
First time for a while that they have been promoted.
Hail Hail
Thanks ghuys very happy memories there.
Big Packy I am well, trying to loose weight and gt a bit fitter, so I am knackered but well. Cheeko is old and to be honest I think he has dementia if dogs can get that??
Gut instinct tells me he has that, but don’t know.
Hope you Joan and F & B are well

I watched the start of a Burnley home game on BT a few years ago. As Scott Arfield left the tunnel , he made the sign of the cross.
The staunchest of the staunch wont be happy.
Good news with Kristoffer Ajer signing a new deal . More good news follwing Scott Bain signing his deal.
Can’t believe some posters on here still think they have no access to money . No money , no money its been the war cry on here for years . They are still going , still chasing us .does anyone really think the Scouser would be here without the promise of funds . They have been propped up by whoever with very deep pockets , (it will emerge who the backer is ) and its a good job they have spent it on crap . Don’t know about the Scousers managerial ability , but he will attract guys to play for him , of that be of no doubt . Having said that , we have seven in the bag .a great manager . Some very talented players .and a healthy bank balance . I’m not going to stick my head in the sand here , this season we have not been the same team , we will need to be ready to meet the challenge that’s coming from over the river , we fans can only hope , its up to our money men in the suits to back Brendan , wish my confidence on that point was higher .HH
The good old Candy Roch promoted ??
Well done Andy Cameron the manager a local Garngad Bhoy.
D. :)
?-just back from our anniversary dinner in Coias. We loved it,great place and will definitely be back. Can see the attraction ?
JNP I used to work with a guy Davie Malarkey and he played with Petershill years ago in the 90s and the Petershill fans used boo him because he was a Tim.
Played in that park (old park) myself quite a few times, and the photos of the queen would make you sick, don’t know if the new park is the same.
D. :)
DAVID66, unfotunately david we all go down the same route, think i told you had 4 westies before frankie and benny, they all lived to a ripe old age, every one of them experienced symptoms of dementia at some stage. dont worry.hh.

I remember the chess board strip team Boavista fae Portugal. Great game and memory of my dad. Think we wore yellow taps green shorts that night, if my memory is correct. I loved Celtic in yellow and green under the Floodlights.
Jimmynotpaul, a win win for Paddy tonight. The Petershill mob sound as bad as the fans of the Larkhall junior team. St Roch’s made an official complaint to the SJFA a few years ago at the sectarian abuse their players suffered from some Larkhall fans.
Great news about St Roch’s , a real community club. We were in Ajaccio in Corsica 2 years ago. There was a St Roch’s church off one of the main streets .
Glad that Ajer has signed a longer deal,he is definitely a good player in the making, maybe practice his passing
TURKEYBHOY-with the best will in the world he isn’t VVD anytime soon ?
David 66.
Aye last time I was there still photos of the Queen.
I will ask Paddy if they were still there this season.
Hail Hail
Night all.

Can’t remember who scored the fifth goal?.
Has anyone seen the link going about with Lenny doing his wee dance/ pitch invasion from the Hibs v Sevco game in a pub??
It’s brilliant, I cannot do the Linky thing.
D. :)
Delaney’s , they had a player called Alves who wore gloves and possibly trackie trousers in the game at Celtic Park.
The green and yellow away strip we had in our centenary season was a cracker.
Boavista had a guy in MF, played with gloves on , Alves maybe? Great player
