Ajer will continue to develop for years

360

Delighted Kris Ajer has been secured on a new 4-year contract.  The player is fast, good on the deck, and at an enormous 6’ 5”, is amply tooled in the air.  At 20 years and one month old, developmentally, he is years ‘ahead of the curve’ to borrow a phrase I enjoy.

It is fundamental to the way we play football to have central defenders who can control the ball, pass, and carry it into space.  These attributes are even more important that what we regard as traditional central defensive duties.

He will continue to improve for years and has found the perfect environment to develop in.

  2. DAVID66 going back to that game against leeds, that was the most frightening experiance for me as a young teenager, we arrived late because we could not get a parking space within a mile of hampden, when we got in right at the back, after about twenty minutes in the middle, half time right at the front, not because we wanted to move, the swaying and crushing in the crowd took you there, people were getting passed over our heads down to the police and ambulancemen.memories.hh.

My faither in law was the Mojo of Junior fitba in the 60s. He was transferred fae Saint Anthony’s Govan to Benburb Govan. He didnae last as long at Benburb as Judas lasted at Ibrox. He couldnae handle their masonic ways. ??

Thanks for info re the games, those were special times as my dear old dad used to take me as I was a nipper, as I grew older I would go with my mates, then as he got older I would take him, and my son and daughter, now me or my son take my Grandson, the circle of Tim life… And waiting on another 2 ST hopefully.

    Celtic, a remarkable club.

Norriem, thank you . I wasn’t at the Kokkola game but my dad was . He came back disappointed we never got into double figures.

I was at the second leg of the Boavista game at Celtic Park/ Parkhead. As Delaney’s pointed out , their chess board strip has always stuck in my mind.

    Sorry just seen your post.

Yes, the Larkhall mob were singing the Billy Boys against St Rochs.

Petershill fans booed Paddy the whole game, the last time, it all started when they announced the teams number 7 Paddy booooo.

Any way he silenced them tonight.

Right I’m definitely away this time.

By the way Subbuteo was pish…. We had it, teams like Ziare (spelling) floodlights

I remember we had a tourney up the flats, the mcintyres, Spencer’s, Morgan’s, mclellans and all the other boys… Don’t think anyone knew the rules… More fights than games I think.

Davie Spence had super striker where you tapped the players head and it kicked the ball that was far better.

  11. BMCUW by the sounds of it your are feeling a bit down pal, I hope you don’t mind me saying.

Keep your chin up. You were one of the first to greet me on here, if not THE first, and I am so grateful for that, besides if DD (thinks you are a good ghuy) then G is a Knightswood Bhoy and we are good judge of Characters.

Hope I don’t offend you with this post.

Jeff Morgan is the craziest fenian bassa I have ever known. He would fight a dozen huns himself. Great to have Jeff on our side as kids.

My cousin Mick Delaney was similar to Jeff but a better boxer. Us Tims were heavily outnumbered but still ran Knightswood. It must have hurt the Knightswood huns that we were more handsome, more intelligent, better at fitba, better at boxing and happier than them angry huns.

I blame the schools and parents.

Does anyone remember a programme on the telly in the 70s called striker about a Bhoy that lived in a caravan with his dad and played football all the time?? Think his dad was an ex pro and did not want his Bhoy to play football..

    I loved that programme
