Decent performance in difficult conditions in the first competitive game of the season…and it’s still only early July.
…and without Lustig, Boyata, Rogic…
Excellent result.

Well done to Brendan and the Bhoys a fine away win which makes the second leg much easier. The team still requires work but with Lustig Boyata and Rogic still to return things look promising. H.H.

Well done bhoys and thanks to GG and others for the updates
Of course it doesn’t count as an away win in the CL :(((

I was impressed by Lewis Morgan, he is going to cause Scottish defences problems this season.

Would like Belgium to win but not that concerned – a result within 90 minutes please

Lewis Morgan will be a big hit for us , and will no doubt get a lot of big hits from the SPFL cluggers. Maybe even take a wee bit of the heat off KT.

I have no idea of general stats from set pieces.
But our dire record last season of goals from set pieces suggests we are poor at it.
England have taken themselves to a World cup semi on the back of excellent set pieces so it should be a valuable asset for our team.
We seem only to play high floaty balls which are easiest to defend.
Varane scored a cracking header for France against Uruguay when he diagonally ran on to a set piece played in at pace.
Strong diagonal ball at pace across the box is much harder to defend and causes panic.

Good result tonight and it sounds like a few if tge lads done well. Like idea of playing two up top gives teams something else to think about.
Spfl teams got used to playing against us last season so mixing it up should is also good to see
I think we paid about the same for Lewis that we did for Lubo, coincidence :-)

Thought I’d get some keech in before you came on.
Excellent piece the other day mate………….liked how the attack at St Alphonsus, was turned into an attack on the Celtic by yourself. Only took 3 paragraphs.
Relaxing a bit more now watching the France v Belgium game. Either of these teams would destroy Engerlund. That is if the Saxons (?) get past the Croatians

Thanks BCW. Glad you are enjoying my stuff. Also pleased your pantyhose remain (largely) on……..
Could have been a potential banana skin tonight especially with 3 starters away for World Cup duty. But once the rust started to clear and the passing and control stepped up a gear, only one winner.
Glad to see Lewis Morgan make an impression. I posted on here after we signed him and I watched him in live TV games for St Mirren that his pace, willingness to go past defenders and his finishing with both feet were going to make him a star of the future, especially after a year with Brendan’s coaching. Keep an eye on him.
Our need for more cover at the back was again evident but we have over 7 weeks until the window closes to sort that out for the group stages and I’m sure that irons are in fires as we speak.
Roll on Saturday and the buzz as I walk up to my seat and see the hallowed green turf again for yet another champions season.

someone posted an aerial view of celtic park the other day, anyone got a link to the image ?
I gave up on the BBC commentary at h/t and switched to Celtic TV. They at least were supporting Celtic. My mate told me at h/t that we were far the better team. No according to Radio Scotland. Bonnar is someone who has me tuning into another station. When we are playing Aberdeen, Willie Miller is always correcting him and in favour of Celtic.

Well played Brendan and the bhoys tonight, great performance in the bizarre and ridiculous circumstances.
Morgan is going to be a big player for us. Love watching him.
There was talk in the pub in Oslo about hiring a van and driving a load of us up to Trondheim for the Rosenborg game. I agreed to share the driving. I feel bad about this. I only volunteered because I fancy the other driver, she’s gorgeous. The other thing is that I never learned to drive.

Great r3sukt. Not quote sure why BCW feels the need for the usual rubbish sarcasm but each to his own.

Off topic… if England win the WC do you reckon it would swing the Scottish to vote for independence.?
Guys thanks to everyone re the advice for bars in Salou to watch next weeks return game.
I will try one or two Monday or Tuesday and see what feels the best, again thanks.
A good win tonight by a good margin, and hopefully no injuries .
