Alashkert, Valur, Rosenborg, great to be back

129

I have loved my summer of football but it is great to be heading to Celtic Park on Champions League qualification duty tonight.  Better still, that we took care of the tie in Armenia, so that familiar knot in the stomach we often get at this time of year will not manifest tonight.

Alashkert will want to get this game over with but for Celtic it is another step in our fitness preparation for the three greater qualification challenges that lie ahead.

During the first half, we will have an eye on how Valur are getting on against Rosenborg in Trondheim.  The winners face Celtic in the next round*.  The Icelanders have a 1-0 lead to defend.

We are still preseason, and therefore likely to pick up injuries, so nothing heroic, Celtic.

Martin O’Neill’s Celtic pressed. Never seen a team like it for getting the ball back off an opponent and punishing them

Fancy Rosenborg to get through tonight and it not to be as close as last time when we play them.

Yes, we have. Late 70s I think, if my memory serves me well.

I think Johaness Edvaldsonn’s brother, Atli, was a young player with them at the time.

Any techies on know anything about Apple computers? Last few times I have been lurking on CQN, a warning has opened up saying my computer is infected by a virus. As far as I thought, this didn’t happen to Apple Mac computers so I think it is probably a scam. Anyone able to confirm?

Not a techie ——————- but -unlikely to be a virus and more likely a scam aimed at getting you to download something called- MAC DEFENDER — Don’t !!!!

I’m no techie but as an Apple user of many years I’d say you’re right in thinking it’s a scam. I have had them in the past and, at first, they are threatening. If I remember rightly, to get rid of the message, I restarted and held the shift key down while that took place.

I exclusively use Apple and have done so for approaching 10 years. I have never had a virus on any device and don’t use any commercial software to protect them. Mac Defender is dreadful software and will wreck your OSX install; the only way to get rid is a full restore of the system.

A bit like a house Barratt joke in the 70s/80s once you’ve got it you ca never get rid of it!
