1

CELTIC book author Alex Gordon has spoken of his 27 years in newspapers on a new podcast on A Celtic State of Mind, hosted, as ever, by Paul John Dykes.

Alex takes us down memory lane as he discusses his friendships and experiences with many club club legends over his years as Sports Editor of the Sunday Mail and Chief Sports Sub-Editor of the Daily Record, who were the nation’s best-selling titles at the time.

He left the Sunday Mail in 1994 to work with his own sports media company, 7 Day Press, and is now awaiting publication of his fifteenth Celtic book, ‘Fifty Flags Plus One’, to celebrate the Parkhead club’s fifty-one titles in their glorious history. The tribute to Celtic’s title kings, past and present, is due the be published in late September.

Alex also speaks about his special comradeship with Tommy Gemmell, Billy McNeill, Davie Hay, Bertie Auld, John ‘Yogi’ Hughes and a host of other Hoops heroes.

The author has always been an admitted and lifelong supporter of Celtic Football Club.
