Back in the days, when some of us were predicting financial meltdown across the city, we were mocked by commentators in the old media for focussing too much on Rangers. How the world has flipped. At Newco’s EGM yesterday, chairman Andrew Cavenagh’s focus was somewhere else in the city – Celtic.
“Our rivalry with Celtic, Rangers wouldn’t quite be the same without that rivalry.” Can you imagine a Celtic chairman saying the same to supporters? Compare and contrast to Peter Lawwell’s comments as Rangers slipped into administration in 2012:
“We look after ourselves.” “We don’t rely on any other club.” “”We have a stand-alone strategy, a stand-alone financial plan.”
The new sheriff in charge across the city explained to his shareholders he believes they need Celtic. We are the reason he bought into Newco, we bring the glamour, we bring international relevance, we are champions worthy or rivalling. Newco are a division, within a division, on the coattails of a dominant champion. And £20n? It wiill keep the lights on for a year, maybe a little longer. They will need to sell in order to buy in any significant way without a lot more cash coming in. You know this, everyone knows this, why the pretence that £20m is a lot of money?

The Huns sold out their stadium for 4 years vs Alloa, Peterhead etc.
Yet “STAND ALONE CELTIC” had to put Lisbon Lions banners along the top tier of tens of thousands of Empty seats.
Hugh Keevins was banned from Parkhead after he did an article in the DR which featured a Parkead stadium with under 5,000 in it for a pre-season friendly vs Inter Milan, with a double page spread of the deserted stadium with Lawwell’s weak management getting its balls kicked for NOT allowing Rangers to be kept in the SPFL and be sanctioned until they had paid their HMRC Debts back in full, because if they weren’t kept in the SPFL then ZERO Debts would be paid and this disaster would fester for a long time to come.
Well its only been 12 years and the SPL is like the reserve league, of the Irish league that Tommy Burns said Scottish football would be like if Souness hadn’t went into the Huns when he did.
TB, said that about Souness in his “TWISTS & TURNS BOOK” and TB’s close Celtic friend, Keevins, was correct, AND, he was also speaking with the necessary HONESTY which featured on ZERO Celtic fan blogs.
Some CQNers who have now started their own blog, were even wheeled out to dismiss the notion that seats were empty, and generating clique pile-ons to deny that there were tens of thousands of empty seats, and suckullent lambs backed them up with these lies, must all have been part of the bonus scheme.
Lawwell said “WE ARE A STAND ALONE CLUB” that is what Tory’s do, lie their asses off.
Our club’s entire executive is run by Tory’s who look good in a league were 90% of our opposition have 5-10% of our resources, and a duplicitous supporter base who go along with this claptrap.
Celtic put Rangers 2012 £49 ticket prices onto new club Sevco’s tickets after they got promoted in 2016.
If this is not, cheating, lying, deceiving, colluding, rolling about the bed with the OLD FIRM, then what is it?
Rangers tickets in 2012 = £49
Sevco tickets in 2016 = £49
Only KEVJUNGLE, ie: Me, has ever mentioned this, horrible little, slimy, disgusting, sleekit, Hunlike, secret, and been banned, and banned, and banned for it.
I can’t stop my skin from crawling when I’m among suckullent deceivers so I quickly make my excuses and leave.
Even the Huns fans wouldn’t have meekly accepted this “collaboration” to get £150 Million Celtic HMRC Thieves off of the hook and deny that Celtic had died.
Keevins was coming from a Desmond White angle, tell the truth, Rangers fans did not steal EBT’s, David Murray did, and Celtic have been sleekit and dishonest every step of the way through this fkn disaster, and SPL is the Irish league that Tommy Burns said we would be, in 1989.
But our fans who are supposed to be better than Huns fans, went along with the PLC “collaboration” in 2016, because the Brendan-1 trick made them look away….and the Huns got away with the greatest sporting crime because 60,000 all seated era weaklings went along with the PLC jiggery pockerry to keep Old Firm games alive.
Thatchers long term plan to rid Football terraces of Uppittyness and replace it with Suckullence to Tory boards has won out.
The “STAND ALONE CLUB” who’s fans allowed the John McGinn money to be spent on stupid assed Disko/StarWars lights to be switched on when “YNWA” comes on the tannoy to blackout the most optical selling point of the Celtic supporter base, and which was the reason why TIFOS started at all other clubs to somehow recreate the amazing optics of Celtic fans singing “YNWA” in their own stadiums.
AND, instead of seeing these TIFOS as a backhanded compliment, as most other clubs don’t play or sing “YNWA” the Celtic fans started to do TIFOS themselves ffs!
NO, I repeat, NO, ZERO, NADDA, TIFO, will EVER be a match for what used to be 60,000 scarves held aloft singing “YNWA” Even Liverpool FC had to ask Celtic for a sound copy of the Parkhead “YNWA” version after we played them in 1997/98 Wim Jansen’s year in charge. Wim Jansen RIP.
Liverpool FC used the 1997/98 soundtrack of Celtic fans singing “YNWA” at Parkhead in our 2-2 draw 1st leg Uefa Cup tie, and LFC used the Parkhead Celtic fans version of “YNWA” on their new club video release.
Point here is, stop wasting time and money on TIFOS, and get ALL scarves held high for “YNWA” which NO TIFO could EVER match.
Has no Celtic club official actually told our fans that it is because of them that TIFOS were actually born in the 1st place?
Do the board not realise that sometimes you need to put your arm around the Celtic fans shoulders, and tell them just how amazing the really are? Fans have to be managed as well you know.
Do the board only communicate about fans behind their backs to get them kettled, or their doors kicked in at 6:00am for singing Irish songs.
Why not make a statement warning fans that the Snp are evil Hun bassas and always have been. So if we were in your shoes Celtic fans, we wouldn’t be voting for this evil, anti Celtic party, the rest are equally woke-boke inducing scumbags as well, we are a Football club who loves our fans and don’t want sly politicians to mislead them. (Thats our job:)
Instead we held meetings in the board room with a PC guy who said “WE HAVE TO SMASH THE MARXIST GREEN BRIGADE!”
A “STAND ALONE CLUB” would have booted the Snp’s balls down London Road when they DEMANDED that Celtic attend a GOVERNMENT SUMMIT because we got 3 players booked in the “Shame Game”.
What kind of fkn “STAND ALONE” club is it?
Don’t take any notice of this or you’ll turn into a pillar of salt!
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
So much nonsense being spoken about that mob. They will never challenge us,as long as this Board keeps its bottle. Not the greatest guarantee, but the best we have.As I mentioned yesterday, and I think the day before,James Forrest going mental on it today, there is an acid test coming up soon for this Board. The nonsense being touted that Kuhns asking price is £15 million, should have been shot down in flames.Started by 2 Celtic halfwits.
If they settle for this, the baw is up on the Jannies. roof.25 should be the starting price,or he goes nowhere. Some fekin idiot Celtic fans thinking it’s a good deal.We have him on a long contract. We hold the cards. Not only fantastic in the SPFL,but massive goals in the CL,against top teams.
We will see.Not saying they will sell for this price, but raging they have not come out and shot it down.

TB, Khun is pish if the opposition defence don’t back off of him.
All our wingers are pish because they don’t get a ball over their heads to run onto, which makes the opposition have to turn facing their own goals making them vulnerable to a cut-back from winger to in rushing midfielders.
This does not happen if our manager is a Guardiola clone playing tippy-tappy pish.
“TB, Khun is pish ..
All our wingers are pish ”
Did we get relegated last season?
If Khun goes I will miss him, but he has done little in the second part of the season.
Having said that, getting £15 million is a fantastic profit.
Really enjoyed the unity on the blog yesterday. It was a very sad day, but love for this Club is amazing. It is a love that grows and grows.
£20 million minimum IMO

No, but our wingers are pish, if we play tippy-tappy!
In the 130+ minutes SCF vs Aberdeen, we used 4 wingers that day during 130+ minutes of open play.
How many crosses did our wingers put into the Aberdeen box?

Interesting discussion on the future of Lennoxtown. I would love to see some solid investment in the stadium. Is the hotel etc just not happening?
A parked bus, low block, long out ball, set up, is Kryptonite to tippy-tappy idealism.
How are our opposition skinflint teams supposed to avoid a tanking off of Super Rich Tory Celtic, if they don’t deploy the above tactics, which MON and NFL as our Managers had to use when they defeated those Superb Barcelona teams back in the day.
Cameron Douglas, 23, from Springburn hit an £11m footballer near his eye with a coin.
“The court heard Douglas had been drinking heavily and was struggling with mental health issues at the time”
Standard defence bollocks.
Wisnae me. I’m depressed. It was the drink.
IMHO, Celtic should put down a marker with these two guys (Sinisalo’s assailant being the other).
Now the criminal proceedings are over, apply to have their assets, including bank accounts and property, frozen pending civil action.
What is the Meaning of Trolling?
In the context of online slang, trolling refers to the act of deliberately provoking others, typically by posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community. The term comes from the fishing practice of “trolling,” where bait is dragged through the water to catch fish, metaphorically representing how online trolls bait their victims.

Celtic sign goalkeeper Ross Doohan on three-year deal
Posted in
Celtic F.C.
Football
Ross Doohan admits it was always his dream to return to Celtic one day and is “buzzing” to get another chance at his boyhood club.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper left Parkhead for pastures new three years ago and played for Tranmere, Forest Green, and Aberdeen before clinching a move back to the east end of Glasgow by signing a three-year deal last week.
He first signed for the Hoops as a 12-year-old schoolboy in 2010 and remained at the club for 12 years, turning professional in 2015.

Welcome home Ross.

Asking a question which Happy Clappers would prefer not to be asked, and just kiss the PLC’s ass instead?
Add all that up – just how long did it take to actually put that stuff together, just to have it ignored?
Sad really.

“We look after ourselves.” “We don’t rely on any other club.” “”We have a stand-alone strategy, a stand-alone financial plan.”
We sure did. We sold our best players, cut the wage bill and downsized. And missed out on three champions league qualifications.
As long as we are one step ahead of those across the city that we pay no attention to.
———
We downsized, partly, because 7,000 fans didn’t renew.
That drop off coincided with R1ngers liquidation so reasonable to assume that was the root cause.
Perhaps less reasonable to assume those thousands needed R1ngers in their lives either to lord over or to be frightened of.
67 European Cup Winners @ 3:28 pm
If the Celtic Board and Brendan were not looking across the city I would be worried
——
67ECW ….
I would be worried if they were looking.
Focus on ourselves, be the best we can be.
If we use our resources close to their max (retaining hunger and humility is key) …
… We’ll be the best team in Scotland regardless of what the other 11 do.

Simple questions
Have we got a stronger squad now than New Yesrs game 22/23 ?
We definitely won more in 22/23 than 24/25 but failed in a CL group with Lazio Athletico and Feyenoord (effectively last 32) compared with last seasons reaching last 24.
Personally I much preferred most of our football in 22/23 v a stronger domestic challenge. Not so in Europe though.
I honestly think we are much weaker as a squad right now.

AWE FFS!🥱😴
VP- 😀 Hopefully all good there HH
Amazing how Celtic can keep winning the League, and improving in the CL when all the while the squad gets weaker and weaker.
All good Bada .hh🍀
Good to know that whilst the government is cutting services they can still find £40m+ for a monument to the dead queen.
Rule Brittania.
Wee tiny Kev is back!! Hurrah.
Burnley78 @ 5:57 pm,
It may be a simple question, yet it is not exactly clear.
Here is the staring eleven in the two, two draw, vs the potential starting eleven today.
Hart, Schmeichel
AJ, AJ
CCV, CCV
Starfelt, Trusty
Greg Taylor, KT
Hatate, Hatate
Matt O’Riley, Arne Engels
Callum McGregor, Callum McGregor
Meada, Meada
Kyogo, Idah
Forrest, Kuhn
If you look at the team that played, the subs used and not used…
CELTIC: Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor, McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley, Forrest, Maeda, Kyogo
Subs: Juranovic, Mooy, Abada, Giakoumakis, Jota
Subs Not Used: Bain, Kobayashi, Bernabei, Abildgaard
Then look at snapshot of where we are today, then where is the vast difference?
CELTIC: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Tierney, McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Yang, Maeda, Kuhn
Subs: Ralston, Bernardo, Nygren, Idah, Forrest
Subs Not Used: Sinisalo, Scales, McCowan, Murray
Bearing in mind we have sold well over 100 mn in players since January 2023 and paid out about half of that to replenish the squad.
Seems to me we have done pretty well in the round.
As long as the Board insist our best players are sold for a premium, it is going to be a challenge to build on strength.
Yet, we are doing well at the moment.
This window will obviously be key.
Hail Hail
They have to put a winning team on the park to make a profit .
These new owners are not fools.
I suspect players will be fed through Leeds , and complimented with some signings.
Underestimate them all you want .
We have a serious and motivated new competitor.

There were 30,000+ empty seats at most games for 4 years until the Huns got promoted in 2016.
And then Lawwell, Rodgers, Murty, Charles Green, and Bobby Ewing, all walked out of their showers and said “Good Morning Friends.”
And the rest is history!

who is that new compeitor that is highly motivated ?
thems winning anything is predicated on us becoming poorer.
why is that going to happen ? the covid season was not the natural order of things.
ad again, for the benefit of every one, THE £20M IS NOT FOOTBALL REVENUE, it cannot be spent on players.
They are always motivated but just a poor team, if the board backs the Manager our success will continue.
Just ordered my Bobo t shirt and my Lubo one as well.

scullybhoy on 24th June 2025 4:20 pm
If Khun goes I will miss him, but he has done little in the second part of the season.
hmmm,
i say he did less than that high watermark great run of form september/october/nov.
and his form shaded ……………… and he got subbed often when not playing as well as he did before.
but ………. if we say the 2nd half is january to may well
he scored against,
dundee, st mirren, united and hibs, adding 3 assists, all games that celtic won/
most of all though, he scored in munich.
